My husband and I recently had our wedding at Union Station, and while we ultimately had a beautiful day, there were several disappointing aspects of the planning experience that fu...
ture couples should be aware of.
The positives: the venue itself is stunning, the appetizers received great feedback from our guests, the room flip from ceremony to reception was executed very well, and most of the day-of staff were wonderful.
Our biggest frustration was the lack of ownership when issues arose. Despite confirming our meal selections multiple times throughout the planning process and at our tasting, one of our entrée choices was prepared incorrectly on the wedding day. Rather than taking responsibility, Union Station’s response was that the kitchen simply prepared what was listed on the paperwork they received. As clients, we viewed Union Station as one organization, not separate departments passing responsibility back and forth.
We also paid for five bartenders, but there were periods throughout the evening when multiple bartenders were absent. In addition, we were surprised by the number of extra charges that surfaced after signing the contract. The standard reception chairs felt out of place for a venue at this price point, making an upgrade feel necessary, and there seemed to be an additional fee attached to many requests throughout the planning process.
The most disappointing part was not that mistakes happened, but that there was very little effort to acknowledge them or make things right afterward.
Union Station is a beautiful venue, and we are grateful for the wonderful memories we made there. However, given the cost of hosting a wedding at this property, we expected stronger communication, greater attention to detail, more transparency around additional costs, and a higher level of accountability when issues occurred.
I would recommend getting married at Union Station to anyone!! Trevor is the best!! He is a dream to work with. The whole staff at Union Station goes above and beyond to make your ...

We had our ceremony and reception at Union Station. I cannot RAVE about this vendor enough. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. Stunning in every way. Our guests were blown away by...
the venue - the beauty of it, the staff, the food (was amazing), the drinks - everything. Alicia was amazing and was very attentive during the entire planning process. They REALLY take care of you here. You may think the upfront cost is high, but it includes EVERYTHING - tables, chairs, linens, food for B&G after reception, suite for B&G night of. They let us set a max drink budget which was awesome as well. Best of all, there were zero hidden costs in the final bill. Thank you so much for making our wedding everything we dreamed it would be!!
Union Station is one of the most gorgeously breath-taking hotels in Nashville, and for wedding receptions, you get the entire downstairs plus outside bar areas! Our wedding consult...
ant that we worked with there was so helpful and was quick to take care of every request and question. The venue was beautiful and so unique, and we are still getting compliments on the venue! The food was fanstastic, but I would definitely recommend doing 2 or 3 options as we did rather than different food stations. They let you come in and have a lovely seated tasting beforehand- so fun!
