far exceeded our expectations, and even captured some amazing drone footage of the mountains. John and Liz were the absolute sweetest people to work with and rolled with all of the punches throughout the day, even a hail storm. We hesitated to hire a videographer for our wedding, but it is now one of our most treasured keepsakes. Thanks to these two, we will get to relive every moment of our special day forever!

He really became a friend through this process! Our film became that much more valuable as many of our closest family and friends could not attend. Instead, we opted for a small micro-wedding that John captured incredibly! We could not have imagined a better film for the both of us! It really captured our love, faith, and all the important parts of our day. Since sharing it to our loved ones, we have received many compliments on how people were so touched and blessed to be able to share in this day through the video! The video had a very artsy mix of retro Super8 and HD footage, and it blended and transitioned in perfectly with the music. Having John be a part of our day was definitely one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding!We had many well-meaning friends who played down the importance of the video and emphasized more on the photo. However, this video changed our perspective; the video is such a critical and important way of remembering the raw emotions and feelings of the day. As participants of the wedding, it was hard to always be in the moment and remember what we were feeling and thinking, but the video provided a way for us to remember and relive our most important day. We are so grateful that we decided to invest into videography for our wedding day, and we HIGHLY emphasize the importance of video for anyone else's wedding.

! Obviously, since they are life partners, we knew they would work well together. However, we were absolutely blown away by how well they worked together, professionally. Before our big day, John took the time to really get to know my husband and me. He listened to, laughed with, and encouraged us from that very first meeting. John made filming feel so natural and FUN. I loved how he guided us throughout the day and was reminding us to slow down and enjoy every little moment. We walked away from this entire experienced feeling grateful to have crossed paths with UMC and John. Our wedding video perfectly captured not only our day, but our relationship(s) with our families, friends, and of course, each other. We gave him a little direction in what we wanted/didn’t want included, but basically gave him the freedom to use his creative juices and do what he wanted with our project. Boy, I am glad we trusted him to do this. Our film exceeded every expectation I had and then some. From the music choices to speech snippets, John absolutely nailed it. Videography was one of the best decisions we made with our wedding finances. I love that we have a keepsake we will treasure forever and it brings my entire family so much joy. Videography allows you to fully be back in that special moment and even caught some things we didn’t see ourselves on the actual day. I still get emotional watching our video, and I have probably watched it 100 times. John from UMC went above and beyond and we couldn’t recommend him enough for any and all videography needs.

grapher, John, showed up early to meet my now husband and I, and was INCREDIBLY sweet, thoughtful, caring and understanding. He cultivated such comfort, ease and peace on a day that can be so chaotic. He helped us with things (not in the description) like my husband’s boutonniere, carrying my shoes and literally encouraged us the whole way. Him and his wife Liz (whom we hired as our photographer) were an absolute gift to our day. We are so honored. We 100 percent highly recommend! The film - John’s creative shots were UNREAL. Vibey, high quality, romantic, playful, BEAUTIFUL. We were so concerned about not taking more breaks through the day and ‘looking tired’ in the shots, but after watching the film, we felt beautiful. Hands down an undoubtedly worth it wedding expense/investment. We’ve already watched the film several times and we are so grateful to get to cherish this piece for a lifetime. We had other footage from friends, etc but it doesn’t capture the actual experience the way the film does. John literally captured the visual aesthetic, emotion, and experience of the day in the most beautiful way. We actually feel there again every time we watch it. Couple pieces of advice for the bride/groom questioning hiring UMC. When you do, have confidence in the outcome!! You can 100 percent trust them! They WILL exceed your expectations. Second - We wished we would have been more direct with guests, friends, and just other individuals present while getting ready prior to the ceremony about having time set aside just with John and his wife only. They carry such peace, just having that one minute to get to know one another and have some shots without anyone around (prior to the ceremony) would be super worth it, especially since this is probably the highest stress time of the day. The few seconds we got with them by ourselves calmed our nerves so much! We adore and love them so much! We highly recommend <3

I literally got goosebumps and teared up watching it. It truly is such a gift to us. We really felt like we were back in the our special day. John is so passionate about making real and honest films and it showed during the entire process from shoot to final edit. He is truly able to make films that not only capture memories forever in grace, but also make a lasting impact on the viewer. Liz shares the same passion for creating real and honest photography and it too showed during the entirety of the elopement. They worked hard to make sure we were not only a video/photo client or another paycheck and truly formed a real relationship with my wife and I. They also went above and beyond to ensure that our elopement was special which was amazing to us. Working with John and Liz is a MUST for anyone looking to capture their day in a unique and extremely special way. What did you enjoy most about your wedding film? Some of the things that I enjoyed most about our wedding film is that John took the extra time to make our film unique to our taste and that he was able to capture nearly every emotion felt during our elopement with such smooth transition and style. The coloring and overall editing of the film was better than I could have imagined and I truly loved many of the grand shots throughout the film that capture our surroundings and environment and can always bring us back to Big Sur and back to our big day. There is truly a novel sized list of reasons you should work with John and Liz but to put it simply I could not be happier with the final result of working with them but I truly can’t express the amount of a joy it was to work with John and Liz during the entire process of making our wedding film. They are incredible people with incredible hearts doing incredible work and I highly recommend working with them.

From our laughs to bad jokes and all the tiny moments in-between, they got it all. I'm so thankful to have this video to look back at as we get older, and to be able to see exactly where we were at in life. If you're on the fence of 'Do I really need video??" JUST DO IT! Photos are incredible and video is just as amazing! You'll never regret hiring John, so just do it.

After getting back our film, we could not believe how personal and real everything was captured; especially considering how "under the radar" his filming was throughout the entire day. It is absolutely everything we both could have wanted. Every scene, sound, and transition is beautiful just by itself. What did you enjoy most about your wedding film? One of the most enjoyable parts of the wedding film was seeing all our guests having a fun time together and supporting us. You never can understand how quickly a wedding day goes by until you experience it yourself. We did not have the opportunity to talk with every one of our guests, so it was very special to see their faces on this film. 3. What advice would you give someone who’s undecided about videography &/or UMC? I was on the fence about having a videography at our wedding. Neither of our parents had one, and we were wanting to stay on a budget. After speaking with John I quickly realized that his services would be worth the time and money. They made sure to accommodate our budget and give us all the information we needed to feel confident we were making the right choice. You will NOT regret having a wedding video capturing the best and most thoughtful moments on your big day!

so responsive to questions and easy to get a hold of. I would recommend them to anyone getting married! I enjoyed that they really captured some of the most special moments, while also showing how beautiful the scenery around the venue was. When you are a busy bride and groom-- sometimes its hard to stop and take it all in as you are constantly greeting and hugging guests. This video helped me experience the day for myself-- and I truly cherish those moments. The one critique I had for the editing is I wish there would have been more cutaway/ detail shots of the table arrangements etc. Just so I could see them up close and there were not jump cuts in between toast speeches. Other than that, the video was absolutely gorgeous and Jon captured the most important part of the wedding -- the people! At the end of the day, that is all I want to look back on! My advice is to be willing to talk on the phone, FT and have great conversation before deciding on anything. It's important to remember that these people will be hanging out with you all day! John and Liz were a JOY to be around and felt like longtime friends.

gh videography. This has made the process of working with UMC that much sweeter, and we didn’t think it could get any better until we met Dwane. Dwane was onsite at our wedding, and he was amazing the entire day. When things got off schedule, Dwane helped me to feel calm and collected. When it came to those special moments between Robert and I, Dwane captured them so beautifully. He fit right in with our friends and family, and we are so glad to have had the opportunity to work with him. Our wedding video is just everything. Hearing our vows again, just as we said them (teary-eyed, shaky, and excited) is really just such a gift. You only say your vows once, but thanks to our wedding video we can be reminded of the precious words we exchanged on our special day. We’ve also loved the shots of all our friends and family celebrating with us, as it brings us right back to that day as if we were there again. If you’re on the fence about hiring a videographer, our advice to you is to do it. Our wedding day was – without a doubt – the fastest day of our lives. On your wedding day, you’re going to be surrounded by so much love and support; you’re going to feel so many emotions that you couldn’t possibly process them in that moment. To sit with your new husband/wife and watch your wedding again is to have the chance to remember the most precious day of your life and revisit those emotions and that warm ambiance of absolute love from everyone around you. It’s worth it – I promise!

Then there’s John, who just by a couple face time and email conversations, knew exactly what I was going for in our wedding video. For those questioning on whether wedding videography is necessary, or worth it.. it 100% is!!! Especially when this team does your videography. Even just 3 months after our wedding there were moments I had forgotten or didn’t even see happen. The highlight video itself was absolutely beautiful and captured some of the most important, memorable parts of our day. And, the cherry on top of it all, our edited highlight video and unedited video of our ceremony/first look/first dances/cake cutting/toasts were back to us within 3 weeks of the wedding. The UMC team works hard to ensure they capture your wedding day perfectly and that you are more than happy with your final product - highly, highly recommend! But John did an amazing job of figuring out the specific details we wanted to make sure were included and he took the time to get to know who Aaron and I are as a couple and what we are passionate about so that he could capture it in our wedding day footage. And he did just that. On the day of, John had the most perfect balance of stepping back and letting the magic happen and pulling us aside to tell us a great idea he had. John was an amazing partner on our big day and I cannot imagine it going as smoothly as it did. We would not have asked for anything different. Our video and additional footage was perfect!

s great! When we met him on wedding day, he was equally as kind, respectful, outgoing, and talented as he was on the phone. We had family members and friends tell us they thought he was a long time friend, due to his genuine spirit, how well he got along with us, and his interaction with guests. He was professional and stayed on the sidelines, but also made it a point to be excited about the celebration of our wedding with guests. I love that we still stay in touch today! His professionalism during the whole process blew me away. John emailed our photographer to introduce himself, tell her he valued her work and wanted to work together, instead of competing for shots, to make us as the bride and groom, SO happy with our images and film. The two of them did just that! I can't say enough good things about the end product of our wedding film. I work in the wedding and creative industry myself, so I've watched a lot of wedding videos and knew what I wanted for ours. We talked on the phone about the vision, then I trusted John with his craft and what he delivered is nothing short of amazing! I tear up every time I watch it (which is often!) because of the intention he filmed with in capturing every important moment. The day we got back from our honeymoon, John surprised us with a text containing our 1 minute wedding film trailer. It was so thoughtful! He also worked with the photographer on the photo delivery date to make sure he delivered our film the same week. Our actual wedding film is incredible and something I'll cherish forever. I'm so thankful that not only we hired a videographer, but that it was John, specifically. He is a true storyteller! I will be referring John to all my engaged friends!
