Updo's Studio was absolutely fabulous to work with for my wedding! Amanda is responsive, organized, professional, friendly, and accommodating. Her team is friendly, talented, and executed everyone's hair and makeup visions perfectly. We all felt gorgeous on my wedding day. Even though I had a different makeup artist at my trial compared to my wedding day, my makeup still looked the same and beautiful because they took detailed notes. My bridal hair and makeup were absolutely perfect, and I cannot believe how well both held up all night! My hair and makeup still looked flawless at the end of the night, and so did my bridesmaids and mom's HMU. Updo's Studio was set up and ready to go on time, and they also finished everyone with time to spare. They made sure to do final touch-ups before leaving and Amanda double checked every detail. Updo's is fabulous to work with and I highly recommend them!

Updo’s did a phenomenal job! All my bridesmaids looked fantastic and my hair looked amazing! Like seriously, I don’t think my hair could have looked any better, I was blown away. My hair also looked awesome even at the end of the night too which was very impressive. Also, the fact that they did all of this between 10-1pm is amazing. It was a great experience and I am already recommending Updo’s to all of my engaged friends!

Updo’s Studio was a dream team to work with. They were a preferred vendor at my venue. The hair and makeup trial was a giant ease of stress. And even though I changed my makeup vision after the trial, Updo’s Studio was very receptive to the changes that I wanted to make. I felt like a princess on my wedding day. My hair didn’t fall all night despite the NC humidity and my makeup lasted through all of the sweat from dancing. My bridesmaids, mom, and mother in law also looked and felt fantastic. Hire this team. you will not be disappointed.

I reached out to Updo’s studio to handle hair and makeup for my wedding because they were recommended to me by two different friends who had used them for their weddings. Their reputation was good, as it seemed like they handled a ton of weddings in the triad area and their reviews were great. Their smallest package was for a group of 6, which made me almost not book with them since I only had 2 bridesmaids but it ended up working out since I included the mothers. Onto the actual hair and makeup. I’m not professionally trained but I have a lot of experience trying different hair styles and makeup on myself so I have gotten to a point where I know what I like. I went into my trial with a few pictures and a very clear idea of what I wanted. Basically I asked for simple in both areas- soft, lived in looking updo and a fresh faced makeup look that was as skin like as possible. I came out with a super intricate, teased updo that in my opinion didn’t look anything like my picture, and my makeup was very heavy glam with contouring and powdering and did not match my coloring. I’m not saying they did not do a good job, it was just so far from what I asked for. I chalked this up to me not speaking up enough, so I paid for a second trial and voiced my dislikes from the first. They were both very understanding. I came in with one hair picture and spoke a lot about how I do my own makeup and what products work and don’t work for my skin. The makeup from the second trial was ten times better. The hair was closer to the general vibe of what I was wanting so we went with it. The day of my wedding we had 2 hair stylists and 2 makeup artists. My hair and makeup were done by the same ladies that did my second trial and came out very similar to my trial so I was happy with it. There were issues with the other makeup artist’s lash application, and the ones who had theirs done by her all needed her to fix them, but otherwise I think everyone was happy what what they received. Overall I think I would recommend Updo’s Studio if you are not super particular about what you want because while they did a good job, I think there may be some communication issues.

I want to start by saying my hair and makeup trial was an absolute blast! I met the owner and few of the girls that work there, and I loved the look. They even had a ton of tips and suggestions for everything I requested (just because something looks good online, it might not work with your complexion, face shape, hair texture, etc). They were very informative and helpful. It only took about an hour and it was perfect! I told them I wanted it pretty much the exact same way for my wedding day. The only thing I wanted different was less volume in the back of my hair and less make up on my cheeks because my face broke out almost immediately at the trial. Come wedding day, I expected the same thing as the trial: Bride's hair and make up being done simultaneously and done in the same amount of time. However, they ended up doing it separately so it took twice as long which ended up messing up our photo timeline. I've never been a bride, in a wedding, or even gotten hair and makeup done prior to my trial, so I had no idea the timing would be any different than at the trial unless I was told, which I was not. I feel like a wedding makeup company should know the tight schedules of weddings and be able to make suggestions and help move the timeline along-especially for whether the bride goes first, last, or in the middle. In the end, I didn't love the look. When I requested more gold around my eyes they did it without mentioning that it wouldn't work well with my complexion; I ended up wiping it off at the reception. When I said I wanted less volume, they gave it less character as well. My hair was pinned back very loosely so when I stepped outside into Carolina lakeside humidity, my hair had all the volume I said I didn't want. Ultimately, it felt like they were only there to get paid. Much less effort, information, and observation than at the trial. At trial they noticed things about my skin, teeth, hair, etc and made suggestions or altered the plan accordingly, but not on wedding day. I was left with the faintest tan lines which ended up being drastic tan lines in photos...something I feel they would have noticed/mentioned at the trial and is easily fixed with makeup (especially by professional makeup artists) but didn't warn me on wedding day. Overall, I wish my trial day hair/makeup and wedding day hair/makeup were swapped. My only suggestion is for brides to do their research and make sure you communicate and ask lots of questions during your search for hair and makeup.

Amanda and her team did such an amazing job on hair and makeup for my wedding! They ensured all of the bridesmaids, my mother, and especially myself loved how we looked and were willing to tweak something if we didn't. They were flexible, attentive, and timely the day of. Working with Amanda leading up to the event was a breeze. She was so responsive and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend Updo's!

Amanda and the team at Updo’s were amazing! They were professional and kind and made me feel stunning on wedding day. I was unsure about my final look after the trial and worried that it wouldn’t look natural, but they reassured me that it would look great. They were very flexible with me and once I decided on my final look, I looked forward to visiting them morning-of. On wedding day, I felt like a more polished version of myself and I absolutely adored their work, especially my hair (I opted for a bridal ponytail). I got so many compliments on it throughout the day! Plus, they finished my hair and makeup ahead of schedule so I was able to spend extra time just relaxing with my girls. If I could do it over again, I’d hire them in a heartbeat!

The team was great. I am not one to put on makeup often so I wasn't sure what to expect. They really made me feel comfortable and excited for the experience. I loved my overall look and they were wonderful at making sure it was exactly what I wanted. As far as the day of the wedding they arrived to the venue early and I actually had a couple additional people to get done, that they had no problem accommodating and we still had plenty of time to get before wedding photos and be on time to walk done the aisle too. I would highly recommend.

Amanda and her team are INCREDIBLE! They work true magic  They made me, and my bridal party, feel like queens on the day of. They both helped me figure out my vision for hair & makeup and then brought that vision to life. I was blown away by my trial and didn’t think they could top it, and then they did on the day of. My bridal party (9), my Mom and my mother-in-law all looked absolutely stunning and radiant, and our hair and makeup held up perfectly throughout a fairly hot and humid North Carolina spring day where we were outside for the entire ceremony, cocktail hour and reception! We also had an after-party that went until 2am and my hair and makeup still looked good throughout that whole event! Our group wanted different styles of makeup, from natural to glam to smokey eyes and everything else, and they did a phenomenal job with each style and taking such a personalized individual approach to enhancing each person’s natural beauty! I was also super impressed with how quick their team was – we never felt rushed and we each felt well taken care-of, but they kept us on time and I really appreciated that. Amanda was wonderful to work with – she is so kind, responsive and was flexible with me throughout planning the wedding during covid with multiple date and venue changes. I hope all brides get the chance to work with a team as wonderful as Amanda and UpDo’s.

Updo's made getting ready with 13 ladies (me, 8 bridesmaids, 2 mothers, 2 grandmothers) for my wedding such a breeze! They were so organized, flexible, attentive to details, and had great communication. So many guests commented by the end of the night how my hair and make up looked as it did when I first got it done in the morning! Updo's is a great team, and you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend!

Amanda and her team are the absolute best! I had 7 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, MOB and MOG. They were setup and ready to go before we even arrived at the venue and had us all ready within a couple of hours. Everyone on the team is so talented and sweet. My entire bridal party looked and felt beautiful thanks to all of the wonderful ladies that were there that day. I can't say enough good things about Updo's.. they were by far one of the best decisions I could have made for my wedding!

Everyone from the Updo's team was fantastic! I used them for my wedding for hair and makeup for myself, my 4 bridesmaids, and my mom. Everyone looked absolutely beautiful even on a tight schedule! I am so happy I chose Updo's Studio for hair & makeup for my wedding! Amanda (the owner) is very friendly and helpful and does a great job helping to coordinate scheduling for weddings and trials. I had a hair and make-up trial for my bridal shoot and then hair and make-up on my wedding day. Every artist I met was so talented and friendly! They did a fantastic job. Kristen did my make-up at my trial and I absolutely LOVED it. She did an amazing job giving me options, showing me how everything was looking and adjusting as needed until we got the look I wanted. I got lucky that she was available for my wedding day too, and again, she did a phenomenal job. I loved my make-up. I was of course very particular since it was my wedding day and she fixed every tiny detail exactly how I wanted it. I was so happy with how it turned out! Thank you, Kristen! I was equally impressed with my hair. I did a trial with Tamera and had photos to show and Tamera did an amazing job styling my hair. I loved it when I was done, but we both agreed a couple of tweaks could be made to get the final look. On my wedding day, Tamera knew exactly what to do to get the look I was going for, even though I couldn’t necessarily articulate it. My hair looked INCREDIBLE. I was seriously blown away by how good it looked. I also had a vase of flowers for my hair and Tamera did such a good job styling them in my hair, even though she didn’t have a photo to go off of. Besides my own hair and make-up looking good, my bridesmaids and my mom and MIL also got hair and/or make-up done, and everyone looked so good! Everyone was happy with how they looked and I thought everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. Updo's did such an amazing job. Seriously, if I had another event I needed hair and make-up done for, I would hire Updo's Studio (and specifically Kristen and Tamera) again in a heartbeat! Thanks so much for make me feel so beautiful on my wedding day!

Updos was FABULOUS. They arrived on time with a case full of makeups and hair accessories. I was a little late finding a hair/makeup person but updos has enough staff it wasn’t an issue! Everyone’s makeup looked great and they left lip color touch ups for everyone for after our lunch. Hair was perfect and looked just like our sample pictures. Almost as important as us looking good, the stylists were fun! They laughed along with us and kept everyone happy and confident! Would 100% recommend

100% the best hair ever! we had quite a few but they kept us on track and everyone looked so good. I had 7 bridesmaids my mom and my sons girlfriend and they did everyone different but still kinda the same so everyone looked amazing!!! I wished I could show you a before and after lol you'd see this group of stylists are the best around. hire them!!! lol cause they make you your best self!!!

Such a patient, wonderful team! The owner was always so responsive and I could not appreciate that enough. And then on the wedding day, the team came in and did a flawless job! They did touch ups at the end on everyone, listened to everyone’s wants and needs, and executed flawlessly!! They did a perfect job on my apprehensive mom, opinionated girlfriends and sisters, and made it look like my bad skin didn’t have a flaw on it! I would absolutely recommend them for anyone in the hair or makeup market in the central or western part of NC! (Or anywhere else, for that matter!)

When picking a hair and makeup stylist I discovered Up Dos online. I reached out to them as well as several other companies, but what really drew me to Up Dos was how responsive they were. Amanda (the owner) was so prompt in her emails to me. She answered all my questions and was so easy to correspond with. At my trial, they asked me my vision. I showed them my picture examples and they went to work. In just under an hour, they had literally "transformed" me. I kept looking in the mirror because I was shocked at how good I looked. On the wedding day, my hair stylist and makeup stylist showed up right on time. They immediately got to work on me and my 4 bridesmaids. Each of us have different views on how much makeup we like and opinions about our hair and they handled each of us individually and made us all feel absolutely beautiful. I just got some of my photographs back from my wedding and they are breathtaking and I truly believe that's because of how good we all felt with our hair and makeup done. Thank you to Amanda and her staff for doing such an incredible job. I am so thankful for you all and how beautiful you made me and my bridesmaids feel on my wedding day!

These ladies are ROCKSTARS. I had originally booked a different person for my hair and makeup but because of having to postpone my original vendor was unable to help on my new date. I think it was one of the best things to happen out of the chaos. These ladies did an absolutely fantastic job, I have never felt more beautiful and my bridesmaids and mom looked fabulous as well. They communicated well, were on time, worked quickly and above all were kind. I would recommend them over and over again.

I am so happy I went with Updo’s for my wedding. Admittedly, I was a little nervous about a team of ladies different than the ones who did my trial showing up on the day-of. My friend used Updo’s for her wedding last year, so I went off her recommendation and positive reviews. I’m so glad that I did because they did a phenomenal job. The team was on time, super sweet, professional, and talented. They had clear notes and pictures from my hair & makeup trial and were able to do to exactly what I wanted. I didn’t have a plan for my bridesmaids’ hair and let the team do whatever they thought was best based on each bridesmaids’ hair type. Everyone looked stunning! Our hair & makeup lasted all day long, and they finished us up just a tad early giving us plenty of time for bridesmaid photos before the wedding. They were also very accommodating and let me add on my flower girl’s hair the night before the event. I would highly recommend this company!

I hired Updo's for my wedding that was supposed to happen in April, but had to get postponed due to COVID. Amanda was more than accommodating and understanding and was so flexible in rescheduling. Although I have not had them for my wedding yet, they did do my hair and makeup for my bridal portraits pre-COVID and it was amazing! I looked exactly how I imagined and could not have been happier with the outcome. They have been such an incredible vendor to work with and I am looking forward to my postponed wedding day to work with them again!

We were all very excited to have our hair and makeup done by Updo's for my daughters wedding day. The staff were very professional and easy to work with. The fact that they came to our wedding venue, made everything much easier. As the mother of the bride, I was a little nervous having someone else do my hair and makeup. They made me feel at ease and even gave me a few makeup tips. Most of all, they made all of us feel beautiful. Thank you for helping make this such a perfect day.

The team at UpDo Studio were great to work with. They did all of the hair and make up for my bridal party, mother, and myself (4 total). They were very flexible as the time to start kept changing and they did a lovely job. I like makeup less heavy but that's just from a woman who doesn't wear makeup generally. All of the hair was perfect and they changed a few hairstyles and make up choices with no complaints. I would definitely recommend them to any bride or anyone needing great hair and makeup. I loved everything about Updo’s Studio! I needed a large crew for 11 hair & makeup and they showed up with the very best of their team! 5 lovely ladies arrived on time with uplifting energy to pamper us. 2.5 to 3 hours later we were looking our very best. One of my most memorable moments from my day, Amanda (Updo’s Owner), while getting my makeup done comes up behind me, gently rubs my shoulder and says “It’s me little Bride, I’m going to get started on your hair.” First tears of the day! It was just a sweet special moment I’ll never forget. They captured my vision perfectly and everyone’s hair stayed all day. Even after hours on the dance floor our hair looked perfect! I’d absolutely hire them all over again!

Wish I could include pictures. I was very anxious about getting my hair done, I wanted "this" but not "that" and was very specific, and they listened to my needs and did it step by step to make me feel good, and I was so happy with the end result. My mom and bridesmaids also LOVED the way they looked, my mom lost her picture to show them of what she wanted, and she had to just tell her, and she ended up giving her the exact look she wanted! Same goes for make up- they were perfect!

Amanda was awesome to work with!!!! The whole team was great - they were quick, the hair and makeup looked fabulous, and pricing was really reasonable. My hair and makeup was absolutely perfect and I got SO many complements. I would definitely book them for a wedding, no question!!

This team made me and the women in my family and bridal party look freaking awesome on my wedding day! And not only that, they brought a TEAM to make it happen. Most importantly, they listened to every one of us as we discussed our style/make-up preferences and then they brought it to life. I was so happy with the job done by the ladies at Updo's! They did hair & make-up for myself, my mom, and 8 bridesmaids at our venue, which was so convenient. The stylists were efficient and everyone's hair & make-up was done with time to spare for a few touch ups! Everyone looked beautiful all day long- from pictures before the ceremony through the very end of the night- even after a few happy tears, sweating, and dancing!

I can’t not say enough great things about Amanda and her crew. Amanda was beyond patient with me and my lack of understanding makeup, I know nothing about makeup and had no idea what I even wanted. All the bridesmaids, my mother, sister in law and myself were beyond happy and everyone looked incredible.

If you are getting married in the triad area or are the struggling maid of honor trying to secure last minute details UPDOs will be a total life saver! Amanda and her team are completely professional, easy to work with and so talented! I called them last minute to request them for my sister’s wedding. It was the absolute best decision and they calmed my frazzled nerves immediately. Everyone looked beautiful! Even my mom who thought her hair was too short to do anything with Amanda worked her magic! I cannot thank you enough for helping make my sister’s special day perfect! These ladies really know what they are doing and personally I think their pricing is very reasonable for their skill level and professionalism! You will not regret your choice!

Overall, it was a very good experience with UpDo's. The trial went very well, and I was able to build up to the look I really loved. We had some issues with communication. It wasn't clear at first how to complete the event form in the app they use for scheduling. Even after completing it, there was a question of how many people would be getting hair and make-up done for the wedding. The day-of, we had one hair and one make-up artist. They did a great job, but did seem a little rushed. I am not sure I ended up getting the HD powder done before we had to start pictures of me getting into my dress. Regardless, my hair and make-up were beautiful, and all the little girls at the wedding thought I was Cinderella.

Updo's is an absolute treasure in the world of beauty. In our search for who could truly elevate our look for wedding day, EVERYONE recommended Updo's. From our bridal portrait session to wedding day hair and makeup was like a true hollywood experience! The team of stylists came fully equipped with all things beauty and transformed Mothers of bride and groom, our matrons of honor, and most importantly our bride into beautiful visions. I loved that we could show a picture as an example and this team of talented ladies were able to recreate the look. It was such a pleasant experience from point of contact to day of. Updo's are experienced professionals that were prompt and completed hair/makeup in a timely fashion-which is so very important when bridal portrait & wedding day has a strict timeframe, their approach is calm and they have wonderful sense of humor! :) You immediately feel relaxed and confident that this team of beauty professionals know exactly what they are doing and they make you feel BEAUTIFUL on your most important day! Overall I was very pleased with Updo's on my wedding day. My hair and makeup lasted from 3pm to 11pm and looked great! They ladies that came out were very nice and made sure that everyone was pleased with their looks. I think my mom had her hair changed 2 times before she found a style she liked. The only negative thing I experienced was when I went in for my trial run. I spent about 30 minutes there and most of that time was just makeup. Amanda came in at the last minute and threw my hair up into an updo. It felt very rushed and not friendly...maybe she was having a bad day?? I felt like I couldnt tell them I didn't like it because they were ready for me to go. After that I contemplated on whether or not to use them for my wedding day. However, it was pretty late in the game to make changes and overall they had good reviews. I didn't have any other problems and, in the end, I was happy with what I got.

The team of girls were extremely nice. I had my hair and makeup done, five bridesmaids hair and makeup, the mother of the bride, the mother of the groom, the grandmother of the groom, and a flower girl. We had exchanged inspiration photos with the owner well in advance prior to the wedding since we were unable to do a trial run as we lived all the way across the country. Unfortunately, my hair looked nothing like the photo, but it ended up working out anyway. All of the bridesmaids were unhappy with how their makeup turned out; however, the girls were very accommodating in making those changes. Some of the wedding party actually took off all their makeup and undid their hair to redo it. In all honesty, it is hard to have another person do your makeup and hair as you yourself know what looks the best.

Amanda and her team were wonderful to work with! The staff was very friendly and punctual. They made myself, as well as, my multiethnic bridal party look stunning and capture our natural beauty. They made sure they were capturing the look I wanted for my wedding. I highly recommend Amanda and her team!

Amanda and her girls were amazing. SO fast, execution was perfection and everyone had compliments on their hair. Each girl had a unique style yet they all went together. Extremely pleased! Thanks, Amanda!

Updo's did a fantastic job on my wedding day hair and make-up, as well as 7 updos for each of my bridesmaids! During my trial they listened and gave suggestions to help me create the exact look I wanted after looking at a few inspiration pictures. The day-of, the Updos team was efficient, skillful and professional!

My bridal party (4 bridesmaids, 1 maid of honor), my officiant, my mom, my mother-in-law, and I all had our hair and make-up done by Updo's in April 2017. Amanda was extremely responsive by phone (both calling and texting) in scheduling. She sent us a team of 3 (Tori, Savannah, and Sarah). Tori was AMAZING at looking at a photo of a hairstyle and translating it into something ridiculously similar (some were even better). Our two make-up artists were fantastic. They were patient and kind, and they were willing to re-do anything. They could also listen to vague explanations of makeup that my girls wanted and translate them into gorgeous makeup! The team was on time, professional, and fun. We enjoyed spending a few hours with them and were very pleased with the final result. Thank you thank you thank you!

Grace was fantastic both for my trial and for my big day. These ladies were fantastic and fun and moved through the bridal party with ease and without us feeling rushed or stressed.

I loved the response time and initiative in the beginning, but I was NOT a fan of the execution. Amanda was not very friendly, she did not really talk to much to us. She seemed frustrated when we asked her to redo anything, which happened a lot, which gave her an attitude. They were responsive so I will give them that, but I was a pretty laid back bride, I wasn't demanding but I was not happy with the over all results. I had to redo my makeup, (the make up artist was very nice), and my hair had more hairspray in it then I have ever used in my life time. It did come out nice, but felt like plastic. Probably wouldn't recommend. I really am not one to write terrible reviews but I thought I should share.

Absolutely loved Updos! They did an amazing job and were very easy to work with. The girls and I had a great time getting our hair and makeup done! Everyone was very friendly! I would highly recommend this company!

We looked beautiful! The ladies did a great job with our hair and makeup. It was very convenient that they came right onsite at the venue to do everyone's hair and makeup. That is exactly what we wanted. Everyone in the group has to start and stop at the same time (a 3ish hour process for 9 people), which is a little non-traditional when you consider standard hair and makeup appointments. It just meant the moms couldn't leave early like had been discussed. Also the $25 "deposit" doesn't go towards your final bill - it's a reservation fee.

One associate of Updo's came on-site for my wedding day to do both my hair and makeup. She was amazing! I was very appreciative of her friendly attitude and high energy. It was just what I needed that morning. She was knowledgable and efficient. She offered great ideas, but ultimately let me make the decisions. She wanted me to be 110% happy! I was amazed at how I looked that day! I think this was definitely worth the price. Way beyond value! Highly recommend.

Updo's went above and beyond my expectation! I am curtain that no one in this area other than Updo's could have made me and my bridal party so beautiful on my wedding day! I would highly recommend!

My wedding was outside, and it ended up being one of the hottest days of the summer. Fortunately, my hair and makeup as well as all my bridesmaid's hair and makeup stayed perfectly put (no melting!) despite the heat. We have Updos to thank for that. The money is worth it!

These girls are the real deal! They got to our venue ahead of time and got all my girls done within a reasonable time. Everyone looked PERFECT. The trial didn't even do my wedding hair justice. It literally looked amazing on the first try. I'd suggest booking them. Fun girls that do great work!

I was in a wedding last spring and was very apprehensive about getting my hair and makeup done, as I am very picky and have had a few bad experiences. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the service the fabulous Updo girls provided! They did a phenomenal job with my hair, and I loved my makeup! They brought in a team of girls, and had our party of eleven done in two hours! Our hair and makeup lasted all night, and I even wore my updo the next day :) I would highly recommend them for your wedding day beauty services!

They worked with me to schedule a convenient time for the initial trial, and Amanda understood immediately exactly what I wanted to do with my hair and makeup. They replicated that look for the wedding without issue and it came out beautifully - I felt like a princess! They gave the bridesmaids (and mother of the bride) hairstyles on the day of as described - I was recently in a wedding where the salon gave many of the bridesmaids different hairstyles because they couldn't do the brides request (a simple french braid!) so I speak from experience when I say that the Updo's crew did the same beautiful hair exactly as I pictured it! They came to the venue on the wedding day and the team was punctual, efficient, friendly, and accurate. I was very pleased to have worked with them.

I had a trial run and Amanda was able to help get exactly what I wanted. I started with a style that I thought I wanted, but she was able to make a few changes that made it look so much better than I ever thought my hair could! I was so excited about my style. My hair stayed perfect the entire day, even in the midst of the rain, heat, and humidity. My bridal party was EXTREMELY happy with them as well. All of my bridesmaids loved their styles and make-up. I had a wide range of girls in my wedding and they accommodated the different personalities with the hair and make-up. A friend of mine loved it so much, she is using them for her wedding.
