Aaron was top notch! So respectful, organized, and placed so much focused on the bride & groom. EVERYONE loved him and still talk about what a great DJ we hired. Also, he arrived 3 hours before the wedding began to set-up - not one flaw the entire night. Highly recommend Uptown Sound (Aaron).

Aaron was a joy to work with! He provided lighting and DJ services and we could not be happier with him! From the very start he was such a professional and calming presence. In the planning phases I truly appreciated his thoroughness to talk through the entire timeline and reception details that were important to us and our families. When it came to the MC/DJ aspects he did wonderful! He really took into account what kind of music we wanted as well as the mix of different types of music. The dance floor was packed all night and our guests loved the party! Also, the display of our custom monogram on the wall was so incredible and added a perfect touch to our celebration!

Aaron is absolutely incredible and really came through to make our big day truly special. He is truly the most professional and expert person in the business and was delightful to work with. He understood our needs and provided much-needed insight in the planning stages. The day-of, he was so courteous and made everything flow so smoothly. We couldn't recommend him enough and will be talking about how great our DJ was for years to come.

Aaron was fantastic! He met with my daughter and son-in-law in advance to understand what kind of music they liked, whether they had certain songs they didn’t want played, and guided them through what special moments they needed to pick specific songs for. He kept the music at a reasonable level during dinner (at my request) so our guests could easily converse. When it was time to dance, though, he really got the crowd going! We also used his photo booth and had guests insert photos into a memory book for the bride and groom. In short, Aaron and his team made the evening unforgettable.

We used Uptown Sound for my daughter's wedding. Aaron and his crew did a fantastic job and everyone on the dance floor had a great time. We used his photo booth and videographer which we're excited to watch the video and know it will be great!

We got married November 2020, and could not have asked for a better DJ/emcee to work with on our wedding day. Deitrich was amazing to work with leading up to our wedding. He arranged a meeting a few months prior where we were able to work with him to work on the timeline and picking out the perfect song for each moment on our special day. Throughout our wedding Deitrich did a great job playing music that kept the crowd dancing and having fun all night! He did a great job with announcing all of our wedding party and parents. Everyone kept complimenting how great our wedding was and how much fun they had, and good music is a big part of that. 5 out of 5 would recommend and work with again in the future!

Aaron and Mason were awesome the whole way through! They respond quickly and made adjustments to songs as we needed. Easy to work with, fast response, and Mason was AWESOME as our DJ the night of! Many of our guests stated he is one of the best DJs they have witnessed at a wedding. We let him choose our songs for most of the night and he did great and kept the crowd dancing and partying! We would highly recommend them for any occasion! We also used them for uplighting and a photobooth. Everything was perfect!

Aaron is seriously AMAZING! He was the first person I booked for my wedding!! He previously did the wedding of my sister and brother-in-law and made such an impression that 6 years later he was my first choice. And of course, he did not disappoint! He makes the event personal and fun! He keeps things flowing and organized. He works hard to not let anything slow down. He has fun with his job and it shows. I appreciated all the work he put in to make our day great!! We had a great time working with him! Plus, he is an INXS fan...so how can he not be cool. Thanks for being awesome, Aaron!!

I cannot express enough how great this group is. Aaron was super professional and was very quick to get back to us. Additionally, the DJ who ended up working our wedding, Deitrich, was SO incredibly awesome. He helped us get our timeline together for the day and responded quickly to emails/phone calls/texts. At the event, he kept everything running perfectly; he checked in with us throughout the night, and made sure my partner and I were happy with how things were going. He also was great about using songs that I had indicated to him I wanted included, and used those to inform the playlist during the night. I got SO MANY COMPLIMENTS about how well he read the room and kept the energy level where we wanted it, and we couldn't be happier with Deitrich and Uptown Sound. I would recommend them to anyone who asks!!

We had a really great experience with Deitrich and Uptown Sound! Both him and his colleagues were extremely helpful in explaining what all information they needed from us, and responding quickly to our questions and requests. They were able to accommodate all of our song cut requests, some of which we were afraid were too complicated. Deitrich really shined on the night of the wedding itself. We had many guests talk about what a great DJ we had, and how well he read the room the entire night. We were incredibly pleased with him, but I think that the many positive reviews from our guests speak volumes more than our own endorsements!

Aaron was amazing – he not only does an incredible job with the music, but he kept the entire evening organized and flowing smoothly. He got people out on the dance floor and really went out of his way to make sure that all the guests were having a great time. He worked seamlessly with the wedding coordinator on the timeline to announce the wedding party, when to eat, when to make toasts and most importantly, when to dance! I cannot say enough wonderful things about him – he made a special day simply perfect! I have been to plenty of weddings in my lifetime and I can say that without a doubt, Aaron delivers better than any other DJ’s that I’ve experienced.

Aaron was the absolute BEST! He truly cared about what we wanted, was organized, played exactly what we wanted and also knew how to get the crowd going. He also wasn't cocky like so many DJs are. Just a really great, personable guy and did a great job. All of our guests had so much fun!

AMAZING! I first met Mason while I was assisting with a wedding and he was so great, very professional, kept the dance floor full and was super friendly. Once I found out the name of the company I new I hit the jackpot! I am a coordinator myself and was working with the owner Aaron the following weekend at a wedding of my own. He came early to ensure the setup was complete and at that specific wedding he worked closely with the string quartet, he took care of all the announcements and helped greatly to ensure a smooth flow from one event to the next. Having a good DJ who can also MC makes my job so much easier. I recommend Uptown Sound to all of my couples and if anyone needs a great DJ team look no further!

DJ Aaron and his team are INCREDIBLE! We had DJ Aaron as our master of ceremonies and party DJ, and his video team capturing our day and we could not be happier with the service we were provided. We pushed back our grand exit time because we weren't ready for the party to end, and Aaron graciously allowed us to extend our contract on the spot. We had 2 meetings with Aaron before the big day to go through all ceremony specifics and reception songs. All employees at Uptown Sound are incredibly kind and flexible and we would recommend them to anyone!

Aaron is so great!! He kept the dance floor live all night long. Before our wedding, he met with us and learned all about our families and got a good feeling for what we were looking for. I didn’t know exactly what I was looking for in music, and his picks were great and made for a fun time!

Deitrich Armstrong kept our wedding party moving and grooving all night long at Gather in downtown McKinney. People kept saying for days afterwards what a fun wedding it was because of the great music our DJ played. Seriously, we had ages 5-75 on the dance floor for the entire reception!!! What made me feel confident about Deitrich was his warm and friendly personality along with the personal attention and care to details months before the wedding. He called us, met with us, emailed, and texted us. We always felt like he was available and that he was knowledgeable about the details of a wedding and understood the vibe we were going for. He nailed it! Plus he sent us a sound byte of the ceremony, reception, and dance floor music Afterwards. Deitrich is a genuine sweetheart with a true talent for what he does. Consider yourself lucky if you get him as your DJ!!!

Aaron/Uptown Sound was the best choice we could have made when selecting a DJ. He met with us twice to go over music preferences and the wedding timeline and listened to all of our choices and thoughts. He played music that fit the crowd on the dance floor PERFECTLY and always made sure everyone was having a good time! He was always patient and willing to make our night as wonderful as possible. Most importantly, he kept our evening running smoothly by making sure our timeline was followed and announcing dances/cake cutting etc. just at the right time! Aaron also did our lighting, which made the reception look so beautiful and elegant. We really could not have had such a perfect day without him! Mason and Aaron at Uptown are the best! I've been to FOUR weddings that Aaron has DJed and knew I was in good hands with Mason for my own wedding at Gather in Downtown McKinney. Mason was so patient with all our music requests and incredibly timely and professional. He absolutely nailed the feel we were going for throughout the evening and I received multiple compliments on how great our wedding music was. (also loved the uplighting services) Could not recommend Uptown enough!!

Aaron with Uptown Sound made our day extremely fun and incredibly smooth. He met with us initially to go over some important questions and then a second time to go over day of planning and songs. It was actually a lot of fun. On the day of the wedding, he set up early, made sure to give us and the bridal party the run down and work with our day of coordinator. We even caught a glimpse of him helping set our guest favors out on each table which he definitely did not have to do! He helped everywhere he could which was so nice of him. The set list he played was incredible. Perfect timing with the "must haves" and read the room to keep everyone dancing. We had a half Persian and half American ceremony, reception, and audience and he pulled off the perfect mix for both cultures. We highly recommend Aaron for your wedding. Aaron and the entire Uptown Sound crew is AMAZING! We got the contact from our venue and they raved about Aaron and his services. We contacted Aaron right away and set up a meeting. From that first meeting all the way to last month when we received our wedding video, Aaron has been informative, professional, approachable, and kind. Leading up to the wedding he answered every question, email and concern in a timely manner. The day of he kept both my parents and my in-laws updated and let them know what event was about to happen so they didn't miss a moment. After the wedding, my grandfather's health to a turn for the worse and his time worked hard to get a short video of our ceremony and day for my grandfather before he passed away. The following months, he kept in contact and continued to send us our videos and even allowed us to make last minute changes. We got our official BluRay discs last month and in the videos Aaron made sure to include the FaceTime video of my grandfather and I before I walked down the aisle. This was my last conversation with my grandfather before he passed. I got to hear his voice again and now I will have that forever. I will forever recommend Aaron and his team. DJ, Lighting and Video. Use him. You will never regret it.

Using Uptown Sound was the best decision my fiancé, and I made when it came to essential vendor choices for our wedding. I worked with Aaron, who was there for us throughout the whole process. He sat down with us with a detailed planning session and truly listened to our vision and wants for the wedding (and was excellent at filling in the gaps with great suggestions too!). I can't communicate how much stress of uncertainty was lifted off our shoulders knowing we would have great entertainment/music (a huge part of the wedding!) on our special day. On the wedding day, Aaron worked with my fiancé and our Day of Coordinator, and I make sure everything went as planned and ran smoothly. We were directed to Uptown Sound by our wedding planner and knew from our first meeting with Mason he was the perfect choice. We had a wide range of ages and music tastes and Mason kept people on the dance floor the WHOLE night! Everyone commented on what a great music selection we had and it was all because of Mason. He even helped us with our music choices for specific moments such as cake cutting to help with the overall tone of the night! Our DJ & Emcee Aaron was wonderful! Both to work with prior to the wedding as well as the day of. We had countless people tell us after the wedding how great he and his music selection was all night.

My husband and I had our wedding in Sept 2018. You know how they say pick the top 3 things about your wedding that’s most important to you? Well a DJ was in our top 3. We wanted a DJ with credentials and who knew their music. My husband is from New York born and raised. I am Hawaiian but born and raised in Dallas, Texas. So, we come from diverse backgrounds and both enjoy an array of music (old, new, hip hop, Hawaiian reggae, Jamaican, soul, etc.). So, to find a DJ that could take all our tastes in music and incorporate them throughout the reception was very important to us. The Uptownsound website really helped us in understanding the services they provide. My husband talked to Mason our DJ and they hit if off right away. Mason seemed to know exactly what we were looking for. Then once my husband and I met Mason to go over our timeline and make final song selections, it was even more apparent that he was the right fit for us. We appreciated how organized he was taking notes about the wedding day and asking all the right questions. There somethings that we hadn’t thought that Mason helped us with. During the wedding, Mason knew the timeline and stayed on track throughout the night. He also prepped us for what was coming next. Our wedding had some added elements that aren’t typical in all weddings (e.g. my family performed music, grooms cake surprise, bride surprised by groom and groomsmen). Even though there were so many different elements, Mason kept the flow of the night smooth and steady without missing a beat. We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ! Aaron truly stuck to our timeline and played the perfect music at the perfect time. The sound quality and choices were great, my guests were raving about him all night! A lot of DJs we met with gave us the impression of being gimmicky and trying to push themselves on to us. Aaron was very kind and authentic; he made me feel like he truly cared about us and our wedding day going as smoothly as it could.

AARON IS THE BEST EVER. Seriously - stop comparing prices and just book Aaron. Aside from being incredible sweet and personable, we is ON IT when it comes to your wedding music. Nothing will be a surprise - he meets with you to go over your 'important moment songs' and then must plays. He truly takes the time to get to know what you want. We have had good experiences with multiple DJs at this company, first at my sister in laws wedding and then at ours. The guys are nice, helpful, know what they are doing, and know how to keep the party going. 1000000% would recommend.

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Aaron for our wedding music. He is very professional and definitely knows his trade. We have eclectic taste in music and he helped guide us to styles that would be popular for all of our guests, and I have to say that the dance floor was always full! He also spent an evening with us working through specific music for certain points in our day-off timeline, and was an excellent MC on the night of the wedding making sure our guests new what events were coming up. We have gotten several compliments from our guests on how much fun the dance floor was and how great the music selections were. I would definitely work with Aaron again if I have the chance, and highly recommend him to anyone looking for an even DJ!

There are so many decisions, thoughts and planning that goes into a wedding. My main concern was always wanting all of my guests to have an amazing time. I put in so much emphasis on the decisions with decoration, food and cake and the one compliment I continued to receive that night and days and days after was my DJ! The dance floor was NEVER empty! It's so funny because I met with Aaron once and he made the whole process so easy that I didn't have to worry about it before or after! He went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations. Aaron and his team knocked it out of the park for my daughter’s wedding last weekend. We knew as soon as we met with him that he would make the day great but what really sets him apart is his preparation and planning before the event. He made it fun, helped every step of the way and was so responsive as changes popped up. Even at the last minute he was there doing whatever it took to make the day perfect. His videographer and even the photo booth were icing on the cake making my daughter's wedding the greatest! I highly recommend Uptown Sound for any event where you are planning entertainment!

We met with Aaron multiple times so he could get to know us, our personalities and the feel of our wedding reception, and he executed everything perfectly. Mason was referred to my husband Steve and me by our venue and he was absolutely incredible to work with. Prior to the wedding I met with Mason about what music we wanted for our ceremony and reception. Mason had Steve and I fill out a detailed questionnaire and made sure that he had detailed notes of everything we wanted. He also brought up things that I would never think about like what song to play while we were cutting the cake, etc. The little details he worked with us on made a big difference. We wanted everything from 90’s pop and hip hop to George Straight to A&M songs to Latin music and he somehow seamlessly played everything we wanted and more at our reception and we and our guest truly had the time of our lives. He is so talented and I truly believe our reception would have been half as fun without him. Our dancefloor was PACKED the entire reception because Mason did such a great job playing such great music the entire time. Mason also far exceed my expectations by constantly check on Steve and I and our families. He made sure we had drinks and were having a great time. My heart was so happy when my family told me how he checked on them throughout the night. He did not have to do that that and it was so kind of him to do so. He also made sure that we stuck to the timeline so everything ran smoothly throughout the night. Mason could had left this responsibility to our coordinator but he worked with her all night to make sure that everything went perfect. I am so grateful that he went so far above and beyond my expectations when he certainly did not have to do that. He is just a really sweet person and he is a huge reason that my husband, our guests and I had so much fun all night. Obviously, I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you Mason!

BOOK AARON AND BOOK HIM NOW!!! Music was one of the most important aspects to our wedding and he far exceeded our expectations. He is an awesome person and is extremely helpful in the entire process. He has an amazing selection of music, is great at editing songs, and is extremely helpful in assisting to develop a timeline for the reception. He even checked on me and my husband during the reception to see if we needed anything! BEST DJ EVER!!!!

Aaron was amazing! Leading up to the event, we had a couple calls in which we laid out the schedule and talked about what we were looking for for the big day. At the reception itself, he had a handle on everything, and was totally calm and in control of any situation that arose- when a reader wasn't holding the mic correctly, he gave her a hand. When we forgot to tell the pastor that she was giving the blessing, he let her know. He coordinated with other vendors so that the reception went off without a hitch- we didn't have to worry about anything. Cannot recommend Uptown Sound enough- they did a great job and went above and beyond to make the wedding excellent.

I can not recommend Uptown Sound enough! Aaron did a spectacular job DJing our wedding and we received so many compliments on his performance throughout the night. Everything went flawlessly from the ceremony to the last dance and we could not be happier. Aaron was easy to work and communicate with, and listened to and fulfilled all of our requests and preferences. It was really important to us that our guests have fun and dance, but we still wanted to feel like the music selection was “us” and not just random dance tunes. Aaron did an outstanding job of using so many of the songs that we requested while keeping people on the dance floor the whole night. Truly made our wedding and reception perfect!

Deitrich with Uptown Sound did an amazing job with our wedding! Very professional and thorough, he was able to put together a great playlist for the reception based on our preferences and was extremely easy to work with. Our wedding was on 09/22/17. We had Aaron for our DJ/emcee and Chris and Chet as our videographers. I highly recommend Aaron and his team! Aaron was beyond fantastic. He was always professional, responded in a time manner, and friendly. When we met with him, it was like having coffee with a friend. He made the dj portion of the wedding planning very stress-free. Our reception was perfect thanks to him. He worked flawlessly with our coordinator to keep everything on time. Aaron really knows how to read a crowd and kept the party going all night. There was not one song where the dance floor was empty. We just received our preview video and were absolutely floored at how wonderful it was. Chris and Chet are true artists. Even though We never met them before the day of, since Aaron was our main contact, they captured our personalities so well. We've received many many compliments on on wonderful dj and preview video. 5 STARS FOR UPTOWN SOUND! Aaron and his crew provided DJ services, lighting, Photo Booth, and videography for my wedding. I couldn't be happier with all the services Uptown provided. Aaron specifically brought the fun during the reception. I can't even count the amount of times people came to my husband and I complimenting the DJ and the dance environment created. Aaron truly understood the vibe my hubby and I wanted at our wedding and nailed it on the head on the actual day.

There are just too many wonderful things to say...I could go on for days about Aaron! He really helped bring everything to life on our wedding day from the ceremony to the private dance at the end of the night, absolutely everything was perfect. His thoughtfulness and attention to every detail in the plan for how we wanted several aspects of the evening to go, all of our songs, and the events of the evening really helped make our wedding day truly unforgettable. He really helped make sure everything went off without a hitch and that it was the way that we wanted it to be. He allowed us to do what we wanted and even provided several good ideas when we were out of them; he even helped tweak a few things in our ideas that really helped get the most out of the evening. From our first meeting, he made us feel totally at ease. I came armed with a list of “questions” I was supposed to ask the DJ and I think I maybe asked 2. He knew exactly what I wanted before I wanted it, and he helped make our day truly special. Everyone had so much fun and danced the entire night, thanks to him.

Mason with Uptown Sound was the DJ for my daughter's wedding and we could not have been happier with the job he did. He was so nice and easy to work with during the planning process. At the actual event he played great dinner music (classics like Frank Sinatra, not elevator music type stuff) and then transitioned to dance music. He did a great job announcing the cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. and played great music to get people out on the floor. Music was at the perfect volume all night and he was good at reading the room. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend Aaron Kannowski of Uptown Sound for weddings and/or other events! He did such an amazing job. He has a very professional and classy style, and he really made our wedding special. He listened closely to all of our must play songs, and kept our wedding flowing and on track with the timeline we created together. Several guests complimented his style as well!

I absolutely would strong recommend Uptown Sound! They provided us with both videography and DJ on the day of our wedding. It's the little things, like what a professional Aaron is to how smoothly he transitions the night. Our entire guest list was grooving throughout the night. The time he spent to sit down with us and walk us step by step through our big day made the biggest difference to us. Not to mention without him, my husband's bow tie would have remained untied! Our video was so beautifully put together and transitioned flawlessly. You will not regret using Uptown Sound for your big day!

Aaron did a wonderful job all around! I knew when we met him that I wanted him to be at the wedding reception because he is a great mix of having tons of fun, but also getting the job done. He takes the time to get to know you and understand the mix of music that you like for the wedding, he also cut the first dance songs for us and made sure we had selected songs for the key points like cake cutting and bouquet toss, etc. At the reception, the venue coordinator was not doing her job, but luckily Aaron was there and acted as the coordinator, making sure everything stayed on schedule, making sure the cake and champagne were being served at the correct times, and all around improving the flow of the wedding. I am SO thankful that he was there and had so much experience with weddings to help out in this way. I have suggested him to everyone that I know getting married!

Uptown was Fantastic!! We booked Aaron for our wedding 2/26/17, from the first meeting, we knew Aaron would be great! Uptown was on the preferred vendor list at Avalon and we know why. When we met with Aaron, he made everything easy for us, customizing our special songs, basically handling everything for us, we knew we didn't have to worry. Aaron setup sounds for our ceremony and reception and both were great. He arrived early on our wedding day and during the day as things changed he took care to make sure everything went smoothly. We highly recommend Aaron and Uptown sounds for all your DJ needs! You won't be disappointed!

Aaron is such an amazing DJ! He was the DJ for our wedding in July. We have heard so many great things about how our DJ kept everyone dancing and really played the best songs. He played all the songs we requested and then some! He did the lighting for our wedding too which looked amazing on our floral arrangements as well as the monogram on the wall. I can't say enough about Uptown Sound! Really Really awesome.

I cannot leave enough stars for Aaron at Uptown Sound. From our very first meeting, he took the time to know us as a couple - and understand our vision for our wedding. Our wedding ceremony was so beautiful, and he was so helpful with the timeline (we had a '1st wedding' minister) and helping us select every song. For our reception, we let Aaron know that we wanted to have a HUGE PARTY and have our guests dancing all night long. Our dance floor was PACKED all night, and he played our requested songs (including Mambo #5 which is a hugely underrated party song). He also ensured that each point in our timeline was executed, or adjusted if we needed more time on a particular event. On a personal note, I so appreciate the effort and time he put into making our wedding so special and personal. I remember coming out of my bridal suite to see him setting up, and I was totally panicking about everything going perfect. I guess he could tell because he took the time to reassure me that everything was fine and give me a hug. It is so evident that Aaron at Uptown Sound wants your day to be the absolute best. My day was perfect, and Uptown Sound played a huge part in that.

We loved the quality of service Uptown Sound provided for our wedding in Sept 2016. We booked them for DJ and uplighting. Best investment we made for our wedding, next to the photographer and wedding coordinator. Deitrich was our DJ/MC and he did a phenomenal job with the playlist and curating the mood for our reception - not only did we love every song that evening but out guests did too. So much that I wish I had booked him for an after party. Even the venue staff catering the dinner enjoyed the music, saying it was one of the best celebrations they had worked in a long time. Uptown Sound was so professional and a great bundle rate for the lighting and music. I would book Uptown Sound again for future celebrations.

We booked Aaron from Uptown Sound as our DJ for our wedding on 10/1/16, and it was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! Aaron came highly recommended from one of our trusted friends, so we knew we were in good hands, but he exceeded all of our expectations. Aaron is genuinely a great guy - he's attentive, thoughtful, and easy to talk to. As soon as we met him, we knew we had to have him as our DJ - we could tell that he can command a room without the cheesy-factor so many wedding DJ's have. He gave us great advice while we were selecting our special songs, and was patient with us as we went through that process. Our dance floor was full the whole night, and many people have commented on how fun the reception/dancing was. Aaron was able to cater to many different groups at our reception with different tastes in music, and we really appreciated that. He is super organized, and was masterful at coordinating the events of the night - he was always thinking 2 steps ahead, and preparing us for what was coming up (he totally outshined our day-of coordinator). We would book Aaron again in a heartbeat, and we'll recommend him to any and all of our engaged friends.

We were skeptical about hiring a DJ because we didn't like how cheesy some of them were and have a unique taste in music. We had met with a couple other DJs in the area and didn't click with any of them... until we met Aaron with Uptown Sound! Aaron really listened to what we wanted. He played all the music we like and even played a few "party - starters" that we hadn't even thought of. He was a skilled Master of Ceremonies and kept the event on schedule in a professional manner. Aaron's fun personality made it even more enjoyable. People that didn't normally dance, were dancing. Everyone said they had such a great time and I owe it all to Uptown Sound. I recommend them highly! Worth every penny!!

Uptown Sound provided white backdrop draping, uplighting, and cafe lighting for our ceremony, and uplighting for our reception. Aaron created a beautiful candlelit-type feel in both spaces that transformed our dark and mostly wood venue into a cozy space for our December wedding. It was magical, and we could not have been more pleased.
