Urban Grace Church

Located in Tacoma, WA, Urban Grace Church is a unique wedding and event venue. This large, historic building serves as a welcoming church setting for people of any denominational background, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or socio-economic background. You can enjoy your wedding day with your loved ones in a setting that respects your one-of-a-kind love story. Urban Grace Church was originally founded in 1925 with ample room for the expanding First Baptist Church congregations of the city of Tacoma. After some lean years, this building was revitalized in 2005 by a group of faith leaders with a diverse community. This 40,000-square-foot facility with several event spaces and room combinations to accommodate your festivities. The sanctuary, renovated in 2021, is the largest of these spaces, seating up to 450 people on the lower level or up to 850, including the balcony. Visitors can enjoy comfortable theatre seats and architecture from the early 20th century, all under a unique lattice design of a domed ceiling. The chapel seats up to 80 guests in an intimate and more traditional-style space, complete with mahogany accents and stained glass windows. The large reception hall is more than 4,000 square feet in size, with space for up to 200 guests, hardwood flooring, and a raised stage. The small reception hall is just over 1,000 square feet in size and makes a great setting for receptions for up to 60 people. The original 10-foot windows allow plenty of natural light to shine on your celebration. The Urban Grace Church staff offers wedding bookings through a range of packages. You choose the block of time you want, including setup and teardown time.
