Her passion and joy for her craft, the expertise to create my vision and show me what I was unable to express, the warm environment, and just her as a person truly stood out to me. Ruth is a superstar and truly amazing. Ruth heard my goal of wanting to feel secure and confident in my skin. She guided me to dresses that I actually liked (based on my style) and then adapted to my reactions. She read me like a book and didn’t keep showing me dresses that aren’t me. We played with sleeves, veils, belts, accessories, and gloves. Most importantly Ruth made sure I felt seen and got what I wanted regardless what anyone else liked. Not to mention, the gown selections are like no other boutique. They have gowns for every style and are not cookie cutter. The gowns are truly unique and you will not be disappointed. Lastly, the gowns are price friendly and very high quality. Therefore, I 1000% recommend any bride to visit Urban Set Bride to find their dress. Trust me add them to your visit, you won’t need to go any where else.

Clothes shopping, especially for something as important as a wedding dress, can be stressful when you're a bigger size, but she was a fantastic hype woman and helped me feel beautiful in every dress I tried on. There was no pressure at any point to buy anything, and she encouraged me to take time to think about everything. I'm so glad I found my dream dress here because I couldn't have imagined a better experience if I tried!

a large variety of gowns and they are helpful with narrowing down what you’d like. I also love that their website shows all the gowns they have available. They only have one bride in at a time, so it is an intimate experience and you have their full attention. I highly recommend them!

They had a huge selection of curvy gowns, and I truly felt beautiful in each gown I put on. I found my dream dress, and it blew away all my expectations. The customer service was second to none. During your appointment, the store is only open to you and your crew. The salon is adorable, and the lighting is incredible. Jennifer helped me in and out of each dress, and picked up on my likes and dislikes in dresses very quickly. It's funny, because after I had come back to confirm my dress and pick a veil, I looked back through pictures from the first time I tried on the dress, and I ended up picked the exact same veil that Jennifer had styled me in the first time I wore the dress! It's a little thing, but it just shows how well they know their inventory and their styles. I have recommended Urban Set to so many friends and coworkers, and I'll keep supporting their businesses as much as possible!

I ended up falling in love with the second dress that I tried on and they made sure that I wasn't under any pressure to purchase a dress on my first appointment visit. Christine also provided me with resources on how I could store my dress through her shop so I could keep it safe and recommended people for alterations. My dress was absolutely perfect and I have been constantly receiving compliments on it, even weeks after my wedding!

Throughout the appointment, there were a few key things the Urban Set team did that made the process so perfect: 1) They walked me through the full process and all the options available, and encouraged me to have fun. 2) They helped me in and out of the dresses, and made ANY size work enough to visualize what it could look like. 3) They were incredibly knowledgeable about every dress and different customization options available, and could share examples of what some of those options looked like IRL. 4) After my first visit they gave me a list of all my faves along with prices and other details. This was NOT my experience at another local bridal salon, and I can't say how grateful I am for the ladies of Urban Set. I said yes to the dress at my second visit.

They also have a wedding planning service, the Hive Wedding Collective in which I'm lucky to have Ciera Pope as my wedding planner. I am super excited to pick up my dress in a couple of months. Would 100% recommend Urban Set Bride!

They have so many beautiful, relatively affordable gowns in their store. Because visits are by appointment only, you and your mom and/or bride tribe are the only ones in the store, so you really get a lot of individual attention (it also helps keep the environment safe during COVID-19). I actually went in for two appointments before I ever committed to a gown from Urban Set, but they were very patient and I never felt pressured to purchase anything I wasn't 100% sure about. I ended up going with the Lillian West style 66012 (and I got a veil from Urban Set to match). I couldn't have found a more perfect gown for me if I tried! I got SO many compliments on my dress throughout the night at my wedding. I'm only sad that I won't really have the opportunity to wear it more than once! Thank you thank you to these ladies. If you are getting married in the Richmond area I highly recommend going to check them out!!!

A few weeks later I returned, confident in my decision in choosing the perfect gown. I was so impressed with the whole experience, I knew I needed the help of Christine as we continued wedding planning, so the decision was made to also enlist the help of The Hive Wedding Collective for our wedding planning and coordination needs.

. I love that you get the full store to yourself - the privacy and intimacy of just having the experience with your favorite people and the consultant is unbeatable. They also encourage you to think over your options and come back to buy which takes even more pressure off the experience and truly allows you to have fun. Their dress selection is just beautiful. I looked three other places but felt that Urban Set had the most stylish, high quality dresses that don’t feel like the same dresses you always see around, but are still elegant and timeless. I received so many compliments on my dress. If you want a weekend appointment definitely plan ahead as they fill up fast, but it’s so so worth the wait.
