Boutique Style Wedding Venue!
Urban Studio is a wedding venue that is located in Portland, OR. This modern establishment is situated in the Pearl District, a transformed hub for social activity in the city. The event space is located inside a historic building that is located on the corner of a main thoroughfare. This creates an environment that is both convenient to get to and beautiful to look at. The venue is accessible from the Portland Streetcar, via a garage door that opens onto NW 10th Avenue. Presenting an open concept floor plan, this Urban Studio is ideal for a wide range of functions. It has the ability to support banquets, ceremonies, and receptions. This now popular neighborhood is the former home of abandoned warehouses and railways. A local gallery owner, Thomas Augustine, professed that galleries within the region were like pearls inside oyster-like industrial walls. In current times, the Pearl District is a desirable destination with many amenities scattered throughout it. In a past life, Urban Studio was first opened in the 1900s, hosting Denby Motor Truck Company. Nowadays, stunning warehouse architecture is still visible throughout the rooms. Some of these features include light-filled windows, character-building ceiling pipes, and expansive, open layouts. There are various rooms that couples have access to within Urban Studio. Upon first entrance, guests will be greeted inside the reception space. The first impression of the venue is made here, and it wows with chandeliers, natural stone, and large windows. Before the main event space, visitors will encounter a bar area that invites them to come and have a cocktail of their choice. Following through, the banquet room will introduce party-goers to pewter-lined walls with silky chocolate and pearl features. Upstairs, a loft offers a birdseye view of the whole space, providing a cozy spot for a breather. This venue is partnered with a local caterer who offers various meal options and menu customizations. This space is definitely tiny. I recommend seeing it in person before signing any contracts even if they pressure you to sign because someone else wants your date. Or at least walk by to get a glimpse of the space. I tried so many times to make an appointment to see the space but they are really busy. Once we saw the space we realized it wasn’t possible for our 125 person wedding unless we wanted to be super cramped. No longer going with venue.
Another thing to note is once the contract is signed Natalia is no longer a point of contact and all questions had to be directed to Ashley with Pearl catering who manages their space. I was beyond frustrated at their lack of teamwork, instead of being able to ask either person I was constantly being redirected back and forth. I also was told flipping the space from ceremony to reception would take only half n hour but it can be upwards of hour. Your guests would wait in the reception area which is really just a lobby and isn’t that large. I cannot fathom how 130 guests could fit and they can if they are sardines. I’m sure this space is really lovely for a wedding but make sure your guest count is small or go else where. Also be prepared to only communicate on email, it was hard to reach anyone by phone. Maybe just walk by the space before you even think of booking to get a feel for it.

red steak and salmon and honestly people wouldn't stop talking about how delicious the food is. Many people told me that they're used to having mediocre food at weddings, but that our food really stood out. We also got their truffle potatoes - which were DELICIOUS! We honestly did not have to worry about anything the day of our wedding because Nicole anticipated everything. We had a dessert potluck at our wedding too and even though it wasn't their food, she helped arrange the dessert table and it looked gorgeous! They were affordable, professional and a breeze to work with - hire them!

rom there. Nicole was so kind and attentive to our needs. She knew our vision, and leading up to the wedding she walked through our day with us several times to ensure every detail was accounted for. Also, the day of she was a dream working with our friends and family in regards to set up, and with each of our vendors. We utilized Urban Studio as our reception space and it was everything we could have hoped for. We had approx. 70 guests and it was the perfect space for our guests to mingle and dance. Not only was Nicole amazing, but the entire staff was so kind and professional. AND Pearl Catering was AMAZING! We had so many compliments regarding the food that was served as well as the BBQ food truck we reserved through them. All in all, amazing experience!

When we finally asked to speak with the owner, we were told the owner didn't want to speak with us and we would be sued for breach of contract - for trying to speak with the individual over the phone?
We were baffled by their unprofessionalism, and we were already angered by the shear lack of response to our conservative amount of e-mails. We cancelled our contract and received a refund on our deposit roughly 9 months after signing the initial contract.

decorate. The location is in a central spot in the Pearl which was easy for our guests from all over town to access. Before the big day the Event Manager Nicole made me completely feel at ease and reassured me that everything would be handled. She was detailed, organized and had great suggestions. On our wedding day, Nicole and the Pearl Catering staff provided excellent service and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the event. Our friends and family loved the dinner Pearl Catering prepared and served and are still raving about the food!
I cannot say enough good things about Pearl Catering and Urban Studio! From the food, to the venue, to the professionalism of the staff, my wedding was the wedding of my dreams thanks to these guys.

, Pearl Catering is it. My guests were going back for seconds and thirds. My maid of honor was overheard saying "this food is so ******* good." Another friend said "don't tell my mom, but these potatoes are even better than hers."
Looking for a venue? Urban Studio was amazing because it can be easily decorated to make your vision come to life. I really love how versatile the space was. It was the perfect size for my wedding, which had 115 guests. Also with Urban Studio you get some of the best food in the Portland area (see above comments). Random thing I really appreciated: it was so nice having that little loft area available so my husband, the wedding party, and I could hang out during the cocktail hour and be away from the crowd.
One last thing, I just wanted to thank Kelly from the bottom my heart for being such an amazing coordinator. Kelly, thank you for putting up with my constant emails, for making sure every detail was perfect, and for even putting the flowers on the cake when the florist and bakery failed to communicate with each other. In general, thank you for going above and beyond.

ng for and how the event would be set up. The staff was amazing and the coordinator Annette was by far the most amazing person to work with. She made my day feel as special as if it was her day! Jason helped the day of and even in the middle of a snowstorm made it the most memorable day ever. The event is so classy and beautiful inside. The lighting, furniture, and set up made for enough space for talking, dancing, and eating, in addition to beautiful photos!
The catering by Pearl Catering was off the charts good. We had a lot of crazy foodies at the reception that would not stop talking about how incredible the food was. It came out hot, on time, and delicious. The presentation alone was to die for. The bartenders and servers went over and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of, even if it wasn't there exact job. I had no stress or worries on my wedding day thanks to Urban Studio and Pearl Catering. I will use them again in the future and highly recommend you do the same.
