After an accident where I crushed my hand, my engagement and wedding rings were damaged and needed to be cut off,
My wedding band had very little damage other than the shank being split where it was cut off of my finger, so no surprise when it was done first. I had to sign some papers and pay my deductible for them to proceed with my engagement ring, while I was there, they returned my band. In the mix of signing things I didn't pay much attention to my band. When I got home I could barely get it off of my finger. Upon further inspection it was no where near round or straight. I brought it back to the store and was given several excuses why it was returned in the condition it was, first they said that to straighten it they would run the risk of the diamonds coming loose, then they said to properly repair it they'd need to replace the shank. . these were both explained as possibilities when they did the intake and I said to make it right. We then realized that somehow "joining the shank back together" took the ring from a 6.5 to not even a 6.... I was incredibly uneasy at this point and was questioning if I wanted them to continue work on my engagement ring that had a good deal more damage to it. After some coaxing from John and Vanessa, I left the band there for them to take another crack at. I put a call in to my insurance adjuster, only to find out the paper Urbanowicz Jewelers had me sign before work started was for them to be paid. So there wasn't much I could do at this point. My adjuster said that she authorized them to do a full remake but they felt confident that they wouldn't need to do a full remake. About a week later they called to let me know my ring was ready. I went in and gave them a once over and apologized for being emotional over the band and thanked Vanessa for being so kind. As soon as I got in the car I wanted to snap a picture in the natural light to send my hubby, but in the photo the ring looked wonky. When I got home I put them on a flat surface and realized that the head holding the center diamond is cockeyed, the prongs look terrible and are not evenly holding the stone, and the band is totally crooked and twisted on both sides. I sent my adjuster photos asking if this was the best I could hope for and she and her manager were SHOCKED at the poor quality of the work. Their entire team all agreed that it was no longer the same quality as before the incident. They did not fix the milgrain anywhere on the ring and where they reset the smaller princess cut diamonds what milgrain was there, they crushed when they sloppily folded the channel setting over the stones. My insurance company asked me to go in and ask them to give it another look. Which I did, this is when Joe stepped in and said it looked great, he then commented on my wedding band all but accusing me of lying about the size it was and suggesting that when it was cut off perhaps some of the gold "fell off".... I asked once more if they could take a closer look at my engagement ring because my adjuster agreed with me that the quality was not ok. I was then going to go on to say "I'm not a jeweler, but I respect my insurance companies opinion" however he cut me off at "I'm not a jeweler" to say "no? apparently you're an expert". At this point I happily left the store knowing that his disgusting attitude and ego would mean my insurance company would allow me to take my rings somewhere with a competent goldsmith.
I live in Philly but grew up in Pittsburgh, so naturally I started my engagement ring shopping there with my mom. Urbanowicz in Peters Township was our first stop. They were so insightful and patient while I tried to figure out what my now-wife might want. It turns out the perfect ring was there. I tried looking for the same ring back in Philly but could not find a jeweler as good as Urbanowicz. They were very helpful with me ordering from across state and let my parents pick up the ring. Naturally, I took my then-fiancée back for us to look for our wedding bands. She had the wedding band from her great grandmother that had a chipped diamond, loose prongs, and was way too small. The team there helped design a perfect replica that included the remaining stones (and added another that was a near match). Following our wedding, we have been back and they offer ring cleaning for free and recommended we come back every six months to keep it clean, free of charge. Such a great family-run operation.
I recently moved to PA and went to Urbanowicz to have my wedding ring repaired as it had suddenly ovaled. I did not purchase my ring there and unbeknownst to me, I had purchased a seriously inferior ring. When the goldsmith tried to repair my ring, it sustained severe damage as it was made so poorly. Urbanowicz called me to relay the bad news and after a bit of brainstorming, they were able to completely repair my wedding ring. They truly went above and beyond and couldn't have been more kind and helpful with the whole process. I will absolutely buy from them and refer them to others as their service alone is top notch!
I absolutely love these guys. Very professional and extremely kind people. My husband took a pair of diamond earrings his dad gave to her for an Anniversary and BAM! Urbanowicz helped him design my engagement ring. We also bought our wedding bands here. Then my husband purchased a ring for Christmas. My grandmother passed away and had a broken bracelet she gave me and we designed a necklace charm with it. We have been coming here for 9+ years. I will not go anywhere else for my jewelry needs. Thank you dearly for your service. You my my business for life.
Got the girl of MY dreams the engagement ring of HER dreams at Urbanowicz Jewelers! The staff was incredibly helpful and patient with me as I pondered multiple options over several weeks. In the end I got a gorgeous, custom ring at a great price and I am rest assured for having made my purchase with a highly-trusted, local jeweler.
I can't say enough about Urbanowicz!! My fiancé worked one on one with their jeweler to create the perfect ring for me! The customer service is amazing and they will make sure you have exactly what you want!
After my husband bought my engagement ring here, we went there to look for my wedding band. They were extremely helpful and patient in helping me find exactly what I wanted (which was a little bit out of the ordinary). Would recommend them to anyone!
The place my husband purchased my ring set from went out of business before we were married. We had a difficult time finding a jeweler that would solder my bands together for us because we had not purchased them at their store. Urbanowicz very happily took the job and we couldn't have been happier with the service! They created a diagram of each stone in my ring to ensure we received the same one back and gave us a lesson on diamonds, describing every detail of my stone and what it meant. They have a tech a few miles away and use a driver to transport the jewelry-not the postal service. We were extremely pleased with the turn around time and also the end product!
Urbanowicz Jewelers did a wonderful job meeting our requests, as well as providing great insight for things we were unsure of. I got my wife's engagement ring there and the process was very easy. The ring was slightly different than the model, so when it came time to get the wedding band, they matched the band exactly to the engagement ring. They are very friendly and easy to work with, and I know we'll be back for other jewelry in the future.
