UTEC’s unique and historic building is perfect for wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, showers, photo shoots, and so much more! Our largest space – the beautiful and historic Main Hall – accommodates up to 300 guests, and smaller rooms accommodate anywhere from 20 – 80. Wedding packages are available, both with and without our in-house catering (outside vendors are allowed, too!). Facility rentals help allow UTEC to sustain and grow its mission and programming, both through rental revenue and by providing diverse opportunities for our program participants to be involved in planning and staffing. After an ambitious renovation, finished in 2012, UTEC is now the oldest LEED Platinum Certified building in the country. We take pride in our “green” features, from the solar panels on our roof to the local ingredients in our kitchen.

I cannot recommend UTEC enough! We had our wedding there two weeks ago and from start to finish UTEC (and Joelle in particular) was amazing to work with.
It's hard finding a venu...
e for 200 guests that isn't just a large hotel ballroom, but UTEC is a gorgeous old building with so much unique character. They have a pick and choose style menu for the venue and allow outside vendors so we were able to save a lot by finding what worked best for us. And most importantly, UTEC does amazing work for the community!
UTEC was the perfect venue for our mostly DIY wedding. We rented the Cafe space and adjoining atrium for our ceremony and reception for 45 guests. The rate was VERY reasonable, i...
ncluded 1 hour for rehearsal, 3 hours of decoration time, sound system, and tables and chairs. Joelle, the event coordinator was on-site during our entire event and we hired one of the young people associated with the non-profit to work the event to set up the buffet and bus the dinner tables. We also rented place settings, linens, and chair covers for reasonable rates. UTEC does great work with disconnected youth in the Lowell area, and, as two teachers, we were thrilled to be contributing to such a worthy cause. UTEC runs its own catering service as one of its job-training programs, but they do not require you to use it. We had a Mexican restaurant cater and hired a licensed bar tending service from UTEC’s list of recommended vendor’s. Since we did all DIY decorating, it was perfect that they let us set up everything the day before the wedding and let us pick everything up from the venue the morning after. We stayed at the UMASS hotel across the street, so the venue location couldn’t have been more convenient! All of the UTEC staff that we interacted with were friendly and laidback - I can’t say enough for how flexible and easy they were to work with!
