Anne is amazing! She really listens to your input and works with you to create a look you want. I highly recommend doing a trial test with her before to try out a couple of different looks so that on the day of your event, the makeup sessions goes smoothly.

I had a destination wedding in San Francisco and as most brides I was in need of a makeup and hair stylist. I was nervous about hiring someone who I wasn’t familiar with for my big day. I searched for a makeup artist and hairstylist using various apps and sites. I specifically wanted someone who was familiar with dark skin tones. I came across Anne’s profile on the The Knot. I was impressed by her work, both on her website and Instagram page. Anne was professional, communicative and talented. I wasn’t able to complete a trial hair and makeup, so I relied on explaining my desires through emails and pictures to Anne. On the day of, Anne arrived on time. She was able to complete my makeup and 2 bridal makeup’s before our estimated time, indicated on our wedding timeline. I couldn’t have been happier with her work. She nailed every one of my request and had me and the bridal party looking exceptionally beautiful. The makeup lasted all day and night and showed up well in all my photos. Her expertise and experience really did make the whole process flawless. You can’t go wrong with hiring Anne for any occasion.

Okay let’s get into it. If you are even considering Uwa: Book her and do it ASAP, because **you want her for your wedding & events!!!** I had previously done a trial with someone else and didn’t like it at all; but then serendipity came along and a friend said wait I saw someone amazing on Instagram- lo and behalf it was Uwa! •She•Saved•Us!!!!! We are so, so thankful we went with her and that she squeezed us in, as we were not far out from the wedding! Which says so much about her kind heart, too. On top of being incredibly talented Uwa is a genuinely nice person; she came in, set up and we felt totally at home with her! Uwa is relaxed, professional, personable and super flexible. We had laughs and she just got the vibe of what *each we wanted- and each of us needed something very different. She did it with such ease, too. I did full glam makeup, my Wife who is “tomboy” did some soft coverage and does have some facial scarring which Uwa totally covered and made my Wife feel so beautiful, and my mom wanted a pretty and age appropriate look (she is 70 years old) - and Uwa pulled off **All Three** so perfectly !!!! Even more impressive is that non of us had a trial due to extremely short notice and she saved our wedding day!!!!!! She just got the vibe of each of us and we are forever grateful. Everyone called me Barbie & Kim Kardashian all night and the photos turned out amazing! She takes it all into account. We called Uwa because she came so highly recommended & I am so, so glad we did. The next event we have I’ll be calling her, because that was just the best experience & the makeup + photos were perfection. THANK YOU, UWA! Hope this review helps other brides to be!

I had a wonderful experience working with Anne! She had a very calming presence during such a stressful day which was wonderful. I didn't really have a clear of a vision for my wedding makeup - other than wanting a floral clip provided by my florist. I don't wear much makeup and she took that into consideration and came up with a look that I was super happy with. She did a wonderful job with the bridesmaids as well. She brought a hair stylist to help on the day of, and we started with plenty of time so finished early which was great! I highly recommend Anne.

Anne did an amazing job! Couldn’t have asked for a better person. Love her and her work! She is very professional, friendly, and so easy to work with. I didn’t have much inspiration pictures only descriptions of what I envisioned. Anne, understood the assignment and delivered exceeding my own vision. Omg ANNE WAS EVERYTHING!!!! I absolutely loved working with her and she made me look and feel absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day. I'm really into makeup and as such very picky about my artist and I looked a long time to find someone, especially an artist who could do all skin tones and types. My bridal party was basically the United Colors of Bennaton and I'm telling you she made every single one of my bridesmaids look absolutely stunning. I was so impressed. I also really enjoyed getting to know Anne and she connected me with a wonderful "Weavologist"😅😂 Chidema who helped me put in my INCHES baby!!!! Important to note she travelled to Sonoma with 4 different artists and had us all ready ON TIME at a reasonable cost. I cannot recommend Anne more highly! Definitely book her!

After contacting multiple MUA/hair stylists, I decided to book with Anne and her assistant 3 months in advance of my wedding celebration with no hair/makeup trial. Just based off her wonderful reviews and photos of her incredible work, I knew I was in great hands! I know most brides wouldn't risk having no trial prior, but I knew Anne would pull off the look I wanted. Per her request, I shared my inspo look a couple weeks in advance of my wedding day. And when the day came, Anne came correct and went beyond my expectations!! I absolutely LOVED my hair/makeup and it lasted throughout the day/night (12+ hours later and an outfit change). Thank you Anne for making me feel beautiful! And thank you to her assistant, Sheryl, for doing gorgeous makeup for my mom, mother-in-law, and sister! We received so many compliments on our makeup, you ladies are the real deal. You best believe I'm booking Anne for all future hair/makeup needs!

The vendor stopped responding :( I was so excited to work with them and it is just disheartening and unprofessional when a vendor just ghosts you, especially one that is endorsed by the Knot.

Anna did my and my bridal party makeup back in October. She is super nice and sweet! I was so happy with her work, so were my girls. Our makeup stayed on all night. I got married outdoors and it was still hot weather. But my makeup stayed in place and it also looked great in photos!

Her talent is hands down unmatched! I was extremely nervous finding the right person for my destination wedding. She blew my family and I away! She was on time, fast, and very professional. You can tell she has a passion for what she does and will help to make your special day that much more special! She chose the best combination of products for my skin & My flawless hair and makeup lasted ALL DAY even with wind and some rain. 10/10 recommend! She’s worth it!

I really wanted to book her because I followed her instagram and loved her work. Although she already had an appointment on my wedding day she checked her schedule and made the time and room necessary to book my date. We set up a trial and she was so down to earth. The trial makeup was beautiful but I wasn't sure it would match my dress. I changed my mind and was able to email my Anne my thoughts and considerations even after I had left. On the wedding day everything was perfect. I was in love with my makeup and was so glad that I had booked an artist that allowed to actually voice what I wanted and listened. Anne was amazing to work with for our wedding. She made my bridesmaids feel beautiful and me feel amazing on the most important day ever. Total transformation! I felt incredibly beautiful on my wedding day! Everyone said I looked like Greta Garbo . Wasn’t expecting that, but between Anne’’s hair and makeup and my beaded Art Deco style dress.... it was the perfect fit. Anne is wonderful. That’s it! She is super professional, easy to talk to, flexible, patient and chill (the good kind). Nothing ruffles her feathers. She is a trooper for all the covid wedding postponements. Anne always took proper covid precautions during my appointments. So, we finally made it to the big day! She was on time and ready to get down to business. My floral hairpiece was a bit larger than either of us had expected. We discussed how to handle it and the end result was stunning! I looked at myself and felt so confident to walk down that aisle marry the woman of my dreams. My fiancé was speechless when we did our first look. The day was perfection! I will definitely reach out to UWA again for a special event. I sort of wanted to have my wedding again just so that Anne could glam me up again! The best! 5 stars ⭐️!

I would highly recommend hiring Anne for your hair and makeup. She did an amazing job! I have oily skin and fine hair, so I was concerned about how my makeup and curls would last all day. Anne knew exactly what to do. I felt beautiful all day and got so many compliments. Everything was perfect!

Anne and her team are the absolute best!! I was really nervous about having my makeup done - I wear very little makeup in everyday life. Anne is awesome! And a dream and handled both hair and make up, which is such a plus - especially now during Covid and trying to be careful about interacting with more people that you need to. She is so friendly and helpful. We had a trial session which went well and I felt ready for the big day. Day of - she was on time, took good care of me, checked in and took her time to get me ready. Clean and organized as well and abides by all Covid precautions! I would definitely work with her again!

I cannot recommend enough! I booked Anne to do my bridal hair and makeup as well as HMU for my mom and 2 bridesmaids. I researched quite a bit before deciding on a HMU and religiously stalked Anne's IG to check out the work she'd been doing on other brides. I really wanted to go with someone who knows and has worked with darker skin tones. Anne was an absolute dream and I couldn't be happier. She was super reasonable, on time, and efficient. She was kind and accommodating, too. Because my wedding was during the pandemic I risked not having a trial run to limit exposure but the final look was amazing. I would also like to note that Anne's assistant was also very sweet and did my moms hair and makeup and my mom loved her HMU. I would definitely recommend Anne to any bride- you will not be disappointed!

Anne and her team were professional, timely, and gave me exactly what I asked for in terms of hair and makeup for myself and for the bridal party. Having a wedding during the pandemic, tensions are high; Anne was cool, calm and collected with proper COVID-19 safety equipment. We were unable to do a hair and makeup trial beforehand which usually causes added stress however Anne was responsive the day of the wedding and worked collaboratively to give me my dream look! The wedding day also brought rain and high winds, of which I was incredibly pleased that the make up application (especially the falsh eyelashes!) and hair stayed perfectly throughout the stormy day. Anne is amazing. She's kind and extremely talented, and makes it very easy to work with her! I had a hair and makeup trial about a month before my wedding, didn't think I could get any more beautiful than that, and still somehow managed to look 10x better on the wedding day (must be that wedding glow!). Both my hair and makeup were masterpieces and I was so sad to take it all apart at the end of the night, which is a big deal for me, because I usually don't like wearing makeup. You would understand how magical I felt on my engagement photo shoot AND wedding day. Anne is the real deal! If you're looking for a makeup artist for your wedding, look no further. As a Black woman with dark skin, it was very important to me to find a makeup artist that understands how to highlight the beauty of dark skin. Not only can Anne do BEAUTIFUL makeup for dark skin, she can also style 4C hair! After checking out her Instagram page, it was clear that Anne is extremely skilled and able to do makeup for ANY skin tone. Anne was professional from the very start, which is something I found lacking in other MUA I contact in my search. She is also so kind and easy to around. I really appreciated how she listened to my feedback after our initial test and was able to give me the look that I and my husband loved. Seriously, I cannot express what a lovely experience I had working with Anne. I would recommend her to any of my friends looking for a MUA.

It was such a pleasure working with Anne for my wedding on 08/24. Anne is absolutely amazing! I had some skin conditions I was concerned about and she listened and really took into account how to properly address the problems. My color match for foundation was perfect and my makeup stayed on all night. That says a lot considering I was a dancing bride! Anne was also very courtesy and took her time with me. Her experience and knowledge reflected in how stunning I looked on my wedding day! I’m so appreciative for her wealth of experience and calm demeanor. I would definitely recommend Anne without any hesitation!

Uwa was hired for my best friend’s wedding. Makeup was supposed to start at 6:00am. She was at the room at 5:30am to setup while we slept. Uwa worked really fast and had time to go back and address any concerns anyone had about their face. She spend her time on the bride and she was absolutely gorgeous. Her work is magnificent and her pace is outstanding. She has been used in my circle of friends over the past few years.
