I had a destination wedding in San Francisco and as most brides I was in need of a makeup and hair stylist. I was nervous about hiring someone who I wasn’t familiar with for my big day. I searched for a makeup artist and hairstylist using various apps and sites. I specifically wanted someone who was familiar with dark skin tones. I came across Anne’s profile on the The Knot. I was impressed by her work, both on her website and Instagram page. Anne was professional, communicative and talented. I wasn’t able to complete a trial hair and makeup, so I relied on explaining my desires through emails and pictures to Anne. On the day of, Anne arrived on time. She was able to complete my makeup and 2 bridal makeup’s before our estimated time, indicated on our wedding timeline. I couldn’t have been happier with her work. She nailed every one of my request and had me and the bridal party looking exceptionally beautiful. The makeup lasted all day and night and showed up well in all my photos. Her expertise and experience really did make the whole process flawless. You can’t go wrong with hiring Anne for any occasion.

I had a wonderful experience working with Anne! She had a very calming presence during such a stressful day which was wonderful. I didn't really have a clear of a vision for my wedding makeup - other than wanting a floral clip provided by my florist. I don't wear much makeup and she took that into consideration and came up with a look that I was super happy with. She did a wonderful job with the bridesmaids as well. She brought a hair stylist to help on the day of, and we started with plenty of time so finished early which was great! I highly recommend Anne.

Anne did an amazing job! Couldn’t have asked for a better person. Love her and her work! She is very professional, friendly, and so easy to work with. I didn’t have much inspiration pictures only descriptions of what I envisioned. Anne, understood the assignment and delivered exceeding my own vision. Make-up and hair were intact the whole entire day even through the running around and the tears. Nothing budged. I would definitely recommend her to any bride 10/10!!

Omg ANNE WAS EVERYTHING!!!! I absolutely loved working with her and she made me look and feel absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day. I'm really into makeup and as such very picky about my artist and I looked a long time to find someone, especially an artist who could do all skin tones and types. My bridal party was basically the United Colors of Bennaton and I'm telling you she made every single one of my bridesmaids look absolutely stunning. I was so impressed. I also really enjoyed getting to know Anne and she connected me with a wonderful "Weavologist"😅😂 Chidema who helped me put in my INCHES baby!!!! Important to note she travelled to Sonoma with 4 different artists and had us all ready ON TIME at a reasonable cost. I cannot recommend Anne more highly! Definitely book her!

I feel so lucky to have found Ann! She did my bridal make up and hair for my ceremony and also the following day for my reception. My hair was EXACTLY what I wanted it to be, and honestly even better than I imagined. She is so skilled and makes it all look so easy! I don't wear make up in my daily life so while it is a shock to see yourself with a full face of make up, Ann really listened to what I was comfortable with and I am so grateful to have trusted her, I felt like myself and the pictures came out gorgeous. She also brought a team of other hair and make up artists to work on my family and friends, and their looks also came out incredible. Everyone felt like a queen! Ann has the most calm, kind and patient energy. On a day when things can be hectic, I look back fondly on the time I spent with her just being grounded and enjoying some quiet time. She even helped me button my wedding dress :) I can't recommend working with Ann enough, it was a highlight!

After contacting multiple MUA/hair stylists, I decided to book with Anne and her assistant 3 months in advance of my wedding celebration with no hair/makeup trial. Just based off her wonderful reviews and photos of her incredible work, I knew I was in great hands! I know most brides wouldn't risk having no trial prior, but I knew Anne would pull off the look I wanted. Per her request, I shared my inspo look a couple weeks in advance of my wedding day. And when the day came, Anne came correct and went beyond my expectations!! I absolutely LOVED my hair/makeup and it lasted throughout the day/night (12+ hours later and an outfit change). Thank you Anne for making me feel beautiful! And thank you to her assistant, Sheryl, for doing gorgeous makeup for my mom, mother-in-law, and sister! We received so many compliments on our makeup, you ladies are the real deal. You best believe I'm booking Anne for all future hair/makeup needs!

I knew at that moment she would do my make up for my wedding. 1 year later I’m getting married! Ann was there to beautify me for my SF City Hall Court Marriage and Mehndi ceremony. Both ceremonies she did hair and make up. I felt like a princess, it was flawless! ❤️ Ann is versatile and being that I’m half Black, half Punjabi she was able to incorporate both looks! I’m already figuring out what other events I have to plan so she can do my make up again. She is my Glam Fam! The vendor stopped responding :( I was so excited to work with them and it is just disheartening and unprofessional when a vendor just ghosts you, especially one that is endorsed by the Knot.

Her talent is hands down unmatched! I was extremely nervous finding the right person for my destination wedding. She blew my family and I away! She was on time, fast, and very professional. You can tell she has a passion for what she does and will help to make your special day that much more special! She chose the best combination of products for my skin & My flawless hair and makeup lasted ALL DAY even with wind and some rain. 10/10 recommend! She’s worth it!

I am so thankful I was able to book Anne to do my wedding makeup and hair! She was punctual, professional, organized, and calm - everything you could want in a person who you are spending hours with pre-ceremony! If you're at all looking for a makeup artist for your wedding day, stop what you're doing and book Uwasartistry! Anne fit me in at a time where she was already EXCEPTIONALLY busy! I really wanted to book her because I followed her instagram and loved her work. Although she already had an appointment on my wedding day she checked her schedule and made the time and room necessary to book my date. We set up a trial and she was so down to earth. The trial makeup was beautiful but I wasn't sure it would match my dress. I changed my mind and was able to email my Anne my thoughts and considerations even after I had left. On the wedding day everything was perfect. I was in love with my makeup and was so glad that I had booked an artist that allowed to actually voice what I wanted and listened. I got compliments all day, I didn't want to take it off! Thank you so much again Anne, if I ever need to be done up again, I'll book in a heartbeat <3

Anne was amazing to work with for our wedding. She made my bridesmaids feel beautiful and me feel amazing on the most important day ever. (She was also really great with the moms and was able to work with more mature skin :) ) She was efficient with her time and wonderful to be around. I would 100% recommend her to anyone. Total transformation! I felt incredibly beautiful on my wedding day! Everyone said I looked like Greta Garbo . Wasn’t expecting that, but between Anne’’s hair and makeup and my beaded Art Deco style dress.... it was the perfect fit. Anne is wonderful. That’s it! She is super professional, easy to talk to, flexible, patient and chill (the good kind). Nothing ruffles her feathers. She is a trooper for all the covid wedding postponements. Anne always took proper covid precautions during my appointments. So, we finally made it to the big day! She was on time and ready to get down to business. My floral hairpiece was a bit larger than either of us had expected. We discussed how to handle it and the end result was stunning! I looked at myself and felt so confident to walk down that aisle marry the woman of my dreams. My fiancé was speechless when we did our first look. The day was perfection! I will definitely reach out to UWA again for a special event. I sort of wanted to have my wedding again just so that Anne could glam me up again! The best! 5 stars ⭐️!

Anne was a great makeup and hair stylist. She was prompt and on time. She was very professional and knows what she is doing. A lot of guests complimented my wedding look. She gave lots of makeup tips and suggestions, and worked closely with me to achieve the look I want for my wedding. I highly recommend her.

I would highly recommend hiring Anne for your hair and makeup. She did an amazing job! I have oily skin and fine hair, so I was concerned about how my makeup and curls would last all day. Anne knew exactly what to do. I felt beautiful all day and got so many compliments. Everything was perfect!

Anne and her team are the absolute best!! I was really nervous about having my makeup done - I wear very little makeup in everyday life. Anne listened to all of my concerns, and wow - the end result was amazing! I looked beautiful AND still looked like myself! All of my ladies were so happy with their looks (our teenage flower girl couldn’t stop checking herself out in the mirror lol). Anne is great at communication - very timely responses. Thank you thank you!! A funny story to show just how awesome Anne is - during my hair/makeup trial, I had one of my random dizzy spells. Anne was the picture of perfect professionalism - she calmly got me ice and water, and told stories that made me feel so much better (I was mortified). This is what you want in the artist for your big day - someone who will not just make you look amazing, but someone who is kind, and a pro at handling nerves & jitters. I will be coming back to Anne for all of my event hair & makeup from now on!!

Anne was amazing! She showed up on time, had a wonderful calm about her, used all current Covid protections, and brought all my glam bride dreams to life! Anne is awesome! And a dream and handled both hair and make up, which is such a plus - especially now during Covid and trying to be careful about interacting with more people that you need to. She is so friendly and helpful. We had a trial session which went well and I felt ready for the big day. Day of - she was on time, took good care of me, checked in and took her time to get me ready. Clean and organized as well and abides by all Covid precautions! I would definitely work with her again!

Anne was honestly the BEST person to work with. She is reliable, on time and does an amazing job. I felt she understood exactly how I wanted to look for all my events and everyone was blown away by her amazing work. She is so friendly, easy to work with and a great communicator. I cannot recommend enough! I booked Anne to do my bridal hair and makeup as well as HMU for my mom and 2 bridesmaids. I researched quite a bit before deciding on a HMU and religiously stalked Anne's IG to check out the work she'd been doing on other brides. I really wanted to go with someone who knows and has worked with darker skin tones. Anne was an absolute dream and I couldn't be happier. She was super reasonable, on time, and efficient. She was kind and accommodating, too. Because my wedding was during the pandemic I risked not having a trial run to limit exposure but the final look was amazing. I would also like to note that Anne's assistant was also very sweet and did my moms hair and makeup and my mom loved her HMU. I would definitely recommend Anne to any bride- you will not be disappointed!

Anne and her team were professional, timely, and gave me exactly what I asked for in terms of hair and makeup for myself and for the bridal party. Having a wedding during the pandemic, tensions are high; Anne was cool, calm and collected with proper COVID-19 safety equipment. We were unable to do a hair and makeup trial beforehand which usually causes added stress however Anne was responsive the day of the wedding and worked collaboratively to give me my dream look! The wedding day also brought rain and high winds, of which I was incredibly pleased that the make up application (especially the falsh eyelashes!) and hair stayed perfectly throughout the stormy day. Anne is wonderful and a true talent! I cannot sing her praises enough!

Anne was such a pleasure to work with! I shared some inspirational pictures with her beforehand, and then we worked together to figure out the best look given my hair texture and skin type. I felt like a true princess on my wedding day. My hair typically doesn’t hold curls well, but my hair style lasted all night long. I didn’t want to take my makeup off at the end because it was so beautiful. I received so many compliments on my wedding day. It was the perfect balance between bridal glam and natural. Anne was great through my whole wedding planning and day of experience! She asked lots of questions to make sure she got the makeup look I wanted and was patient with me, even through multiple hair and makeup trials. I unfortunately had to change my venue 3 times due to the CV19 pandemic but she reassured me she’d be there for me on my wedding day. My makeup perfectly complimented my color scheme and she made me feel so beautiful! 100% recommend!

Anne is amazing. She's kind and extremely talented, and makes it very easy to work with her! I had a hair and makeup trial about a month before my wedding, didn't think I could get any more beautiful than that, and still somehow managed to look 10x better on the wedding day (must be that wedding glow!). Both my hair and makeup were masterpieces and I was so sad to take it all apart at the end of the night, which is a big deal for me, because I usually don't like wearing makeup. She gave me that beautiful, magazine-worthy bride look without making me feel like I had a mask of makeup on. Do yourself a favor and go with Anne for your special day!

Anne is an amazing makeup artist and I am so glad I had the pleasure of working with her. If you can remember the moment when Cinderella felt when her fairy godmother turned her into a princess? You would understand how magical I felt on my engagement photo shoot AND wedding day. Anne came highly recommended and in fact, 5 of my guest that were from out of town were trying to book her for my wedding so they can look spectacular. Luckily Anne declined and the ladies understood the importance of the bride looking amazing and opted to complete their own makeup. Anne is tentive, makes you feel comfortable the entire session and stays in her zone phocused on the bride and bridal party. The makeup was not heavy, but light and it all suited my tone and the theme of my wedding. Royalty and Elegence. I felt beyond beautiful walking down the aisle to marry the love of my life. The pictures as a result were magical and everyone, 5 months later still speak about how amazing my bridal makeup was. So I am not surprised when she completed a bridal session for my aunts friend. Anne is the real deal! If you're looking for a makeup artist for your wedding, look no further. As a Black woman with dark skin, it was very important to me to find a makeup artist that understands how to highlight the beauty of dark skin. Not only can Anne do BEAUTIFUL makeup for dark skin, she can also style 4C hair! After checking out her Instagram page, it was clear that Anne is extremely skilled and able to do makeup for ANY skin tone. Anne was professional from the very start, which is something I found lacking in other MUA I contact in my search. She is also so kind and easy to around. I really appreciated how she listened to my feedback after our initial test and was able to give me the look that I and my husband loved. Seriously, I cannot express what a lovely experience I had working with Anne. I would recommend her to any of my friends looking for a MUA.

It was such a pleasure working with Anne for my wedding on 08/24. From the point when I contacted her looking for services, and all the way to my wedding, she was really responsive and easy to work with. On wedding day, Anne arrived on time with ALL the makeup plus a makeup chair. This made it even more special. She single-handed-ly got all of us 6 bridesmaids, bride and mom done in good time before my wedding that afternoon. She was also just really nice and everyone LOVED their makeup. I found Anne through Instagram and I’m so happy she was available for my wedding! From my first inquiry I knew she was going to be awesome! She was very responsive and even asked for some photos to give her an idea of my wedding inspiration. When I looked through Anne’s work - what stood out to me was her ability to make her clients look their absolute best based on their face structure, eye color, skin tone etc. She never uses a “cookie cutter” makeup look like most artists seem to use. You know what I mean – the standard golden shadow, the standard highlighted cheek and standard winged eyeliner, and a pink lip= BORING! The morning of my wedding Anne was right on time even a little early. She came prepared, everything neatly organized and ready to go. I did not do a trial with Anne, because I knew I was in such great hands. My makeup turned out beautiful and exactly what I had described. Anne also did my mom’s makeup and encouraged her to go bold and use some lashes – which she ended up loving and looked amazing in photos. I can’t recommend Anne enough, she is so talented at her craft and you can tell she truly loves what she does. If you’re thinking of booking Anne, do it before she gets booked up!

Anne is absolutely amazing! I had some skin conditions I was concerned about and she listened and really took into account how to properly address the problems. My color match for foundation was perfect and my makeup stayed on all night. That says a lot considering I was a dancing bride! Anne was also very courtesy and took her time with me. Her experience and knowledge reflected in how stunning I looked on my wedding day! I’m so appreciative for her wealth of experience and calm demeanor. I would definitely recommend Anne without any hesitation!

I would give her 6 stars if I could! She was a true magician with her makeup skills. Uwa was hired for my best friend’s wedding. Makeup was supposed to start at 6:00am. She was at the room at 5:30am to setup while we slept. Uwa worked really fast and had time to go back and address any concerns anyone had about their face. She spend her time on the bride and she was absolutely gorgeous. Her work is magnificent and her pace is outstanding. She has been used in my circle of friends over the past few years.

Anne was absolutely fantastic!! If you are looking for a makeup artist that will have you looking fabulous for your wedding then you've got to book her!! I've worked with almost a dozen makeup artists and she was most definitely the best. I showed her a picture of how I'd like my makeup and she did a phenomenal job so quickly. The makeup lasted all throughout the day and night and I received so many compliments. I will certainly be requesting her service again for other events.
