ey did it with ease. One of the stations was even Costa Rican food which ended up tasting completely authentic. Lelio and his chefs asked for family recipes and they perfected them! He even helped me figure out how to make a Costa Rican drink using local ingredients here in Connecticut! My husband's family and friends who flew in from Costa Rica were shocked!
Lelio worked with me 24/7 to continue adapting the menu every time I changed my mind. He never hesitated to accommodate my requests and dietary needs of guests. He offered the right balance between allowing me to have the foods I wanted with his culinary expertise and suggestions. Although Lelio and his staff worked within a tiny kitchen at my venue with one oven for 140 guests, every item on our menu was fresh and cooked to perfection.
My guests not only raved about the food, but they all commented on the presentation as well. Ahead of time I had given some pieces to work into the food displays and told Lelio the decor theme for the evening. His staff used both my pieces as well as their own to make the food look like it was on display with the rest of my decor at the reception! I even asked Lelio to incorporate some items of my late dad's and he used and displayed them beautifully. We all felt as those my dad had a role in the wedding.
Although I was not there for the cocktail hour, my guests told me the food was delicious and beautifully displayed. His staff not only works hard, they are very professional. Their clothing is professional and they know how to present an elegant wedding reception. Even my guests commented on everyone's professionalism.
Lelio does more than catering, but he also has great references for alcohol and rentals. He helped to guide me through the process so I knew exactly what I needed to rent and how much alcohol to have. His staff took care of the bar for the evening and even served wine at the tables. Additionally, Vieux Catering did my place settings, my cake cutting, dessert display and hot chocolate bar. They focused on every single detail, making my reception look even more gorgeous than I could have imagine. Even my month-of wedding coordinator was impressed!
Planning a wedding can be stressful, but using Vieux Catering calmed all of my nerves. Since Lelio was willing to spend endless time preparing with me, my wedding coordinator and the director at my venue, I knew that everything would go smoothly. I give credit to Junior for my ability to relax at my reception. I did not have to worry about anything. Both he and his staff were attentive the whole evening allowing me and my husband to enjoy ourselves. My only regret-not eating more!
