If you think discrimination is wrong, do not hire Valerie. I contacted Valerie about singing at my wedding. She responded, sent a quote, and agreed to the gig. We then spoke by pho...
ne. When she found out that this was a same-sex wedding, she refused to perform. Never have I been a victim of such clear discrimination. If you care about the rights of LGBT to be treated equally, please don't hire her.
We reached out to Valerie to perform at our wedding and were very excited about her initial positive response. When she found out it was a same sex marriage she declined and told u...
s she and her backup singers would "have issues" with it. It was a very hurtful response. She seems very talented, but please keep this in mind if you are considering her for your wedding and support the LGBT community.
Valerie's amazing voice was my gift to my husband on our wedding day. We have both always joked about how much we wish we could sing and neither of us can carry a note. But since m...
y husband and I love music so much, I'd been plotting on how I could send him a singing telegram. Many of the singing telegram services I found were primarily silly and Valentine's themed. So I began looking for wedding singers. Enter Valerie, who through months of planning and numerous discussions, helped me devise the perfect plan to serenade my hubby on camera on our wedding day. She sang "I Believe in You and Me" by Whitney Houston and it turned out to be the perfect sentimental gift. She was able to capture all of my heart and feelings for him with her lovely voice. He started crying and it set the mood perfectly for that moment when he saw me coming down the aisle.
Not to mention Valerie was extremely courteous, professional, and timely. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a ceremony singer or a unique serenade.
Music is such an important part of our lives and we wanted it to be a very distinctive part of our wedding ceremony and reception. We were privileged to witness the beauty and auth...
enticity of Valerie’s voice reach to the core of each of our guests and bring them together to celebrate the wonder of this distinct moment in time. Valerie is not only the best singer I've ever heard at a wedding, but one of the best live singers I've ever heard, period. She was easy to work with, super friendly and truly desired to make us happy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Valerie for conveying the message that transformed our day into something truly magical. I couldn’t have possibly dreamed of anymore!

y guests away by singing so beautifully. I highly recommend hiring her based on her professionalism and talent. Her videos don't do her credit once you witness her sing live, in-person. She doesn't even need a background track with that voice!
Thank you Ms. Dawkins for making my day so beautiful! My family and guests were so impressed. My husband thought that she wrote one of the songs that she sang. I had to tell him that he's heard me play the song hundreds of times over the past few years. He didn't believe that it was the same song because she completely topped the original. What a talent, what a classy lady, what a performer.

She sings with such emotion our guest were in awe. Both my husband and I felt blessed that we chose Ms. Dawkins. She is an exceptional professional, highly dependable, and her voice is amazing. She brought her own equipment and was on time and ready to sing. She coordinated her attire with my wedding colors. She was easily accessible by email and returned each message promptly. She was also available by phone. However, my preferred choice of communication was by email. Payments were easy as I used Paypal. Her fees are affordable. I highly recommend Ms. Dawkins. My husband and I were very pleased with her services.

Valerie sings with passion and incredible skill. She is versatile and incorporates music of many genres into her repertoire. Her ability to flow well with musicians proved very helpful on the day of my wedding, as she ended up singing with a piano accompaniment that was unplanned.

Not only was Mrs. Dawkins on time she volunteered to sing a pre-wedding song while my guest waited FREE OF CHARGE! She sung as if I was the Queen of England. Her voice is so powerful! r than Shalea!! I came across Valerie when looking for a musician in the DMV area. Valerie sang "I'm Sure it's You" by Shalea Frazier and sounded absolutely beautiful. For weeks I drove into work listening to Valerie every morning and would imagine how she would sound on the day of the wedding. Everything I imagined happened and she sounded even better in person. My husband and guests were blown away by her voice. A lot of people, including my husband, asked "who was that singing?" Lol. He absolutely loved the music selection and was blown away by her melodious voice. My mother in law still talks about how beautiful Valerie sounds. Not only does Valerie sound beautiful, she's very professional. She worked well with my coordinator and DJ, appeared on time, dressed in wedding attire and she actually waited to introduce herself to me after the ceremony :-) She is very easy to work with and was very helpful in offering suggestions of appropriate placement within the ceremony to sing. I highly recommend Valerie. Most likely I will be hiring her for other events!
Valerie Dawkins is an exceptional gospel artist, with her own classy vocal style; her voice is anointed with power, and charges the atmosphere. Truly those that were in attendance ...

WOW!!! What can I say about Valerie? I contacted her a few weeks before my wedding as I wanted to have a performer sing my dream wedding song. Brian McKnight "Never Felt This Way"....
The moment I heard Valerie's rendition on YouTube, I knew I had to have her sing at mines. I was standing outside of the church waiting to walk in. The wedding party had a different song than me. As soon as I heard her beautiful voice, I knew that it was my turn to walk. I remember hearing this AMAZING songbird on the microphone that sounded to crisp and clear. When those doors opened and I heard her I instantly burst into tears. Valerie, you have a gift from God. Hannibal, and especially me want to thank you for helping to create one of the most beautiful days of my life.

Valerie performed two songs as I walk down the isle she sang I believe in you and me (Whitney Houston). My husband is still visualizing me walking down the isle to her singing that song.
