ping us relax and just have fun. She was also flexible with us when we were trying to schedule our engagement shoot just a few weeks before our wedding. If you’re looking to do staged photos, that’s not what Valerie specializes in. She (and we!) prefer natural, in-the-moment snaps. On our wedding day, we had to take our wedding party/family shots during cocktail hour but Valerie made it super fast so that we still got to enjoy some cocktails. She was also very helpful in hoarding appetizers and drinks for us to make sure we were able to enjoy them. During the reception, Valerie pulled us aside as the sun was setting (she told us it would be worth it) for some extra shots, and those came out so beautiful and are some of my favorites! We ended up extending our reception for an extra hour because of how much fun we were having and Valerie was totally cool to stay and capture that hour with us. We highly recommend Valerie and if you choose her, know that you’re signing up for great photos and super cute care packages!

ps took place; my bouquet was messed up, I broke our cake topper, I had forgotten pins to pin our banner for the cake table, we didn’t have scissors to cut the cheesecloth I was using for drapery in the ceremony space, and we didn’t have a ladder to climb the trees. Valerie stepped in instantly. She found us safety pins, and scissors. She helped glue back the broken topper with some eyelash glue and tape. She also gave me a boost up the tree! She was just one of the girls in what was already a stressful environment. She was more helpful than even the venue owners. The images she captures are so in the moment and unstaged. The rawness of those moments captured are memories made that you wouldn’t have otherwise had without her. Valerie handled herself with such a profound professionalism (in an uncannily laid back way). She has a gift that I’m thankful we found. If I had to say anything about your wedding plans, it would be to make sure she’s a part of them. My entire bridal party was raving about her (and my girls have been a part of many weddings). Both my mother and mother in law were beyond impressed. Thank you, Valerie for everything you have done for us. I cannot sing enough praises. Our day would have never been the same without you.

She and her professional team captured every special moment and element in a way that reflected the tone of our fun Nashville countryside wedding. The images are beautifully composed and universally loved-- everyone from my artsy friends to my traditional mother agreed they were the perfect representation of our day. Most importantly, my husband and I LOVE them and know they will be hanging in our home and tucked in our albums forever. She had a plan for the day (but was flexible when it rained!), quickly shared a couple sneak peak images and soon after sent us an amazing package with all of our images on a handy thumb drive. So easy! In all of her work, Valerie seems to have her subjects/clients in mind. I would especially recommend Valerie to anyone who has untraditional, contemporary, DIY, military, funky or style-forward elements in their wedding. She thrives in unique settings and with fun people!

Working with her was not "work" at all. We felt so comfortable around her, and a good part of the time you don't even know she is there, working her magic. Valerie's prices were also VERY reasonable, even with her traveling to Appomattox, VA! This is why we were able to have our engagment photos taken with her as well, along with numerous other "bonuses" and services we would not have even dreamed of being able to afford, or gotten with other photographers. Valerie and her work are honestly amazing. I know the moments captured in her photography are something we and our family and friends absolutely love, and will cherish for years to come. The pictures were amazing and so reasonably priced. She worked with us to tailor down the expense and what we got were amazing pictures that showed off our bridal party's style. She is thorough and ensures that every picture you want will be taken. She's trendy. She's fun. She takes amazing photos. The staff and assistants she uses are awesome. And- her prices are unbeatable. What more could a bride and groom ask for???
