Valerie Demo // Honest Portraiture

Valerie was the first vendor we hired for our wedding (right after the venue!). The moment we saw her website, we knew we wanted to snatch her up before she wasn't available for our date and we am so glad we did. Valerie is an incredibly talented professional whose demeanor is calm, approachable, and fun. She brings a very centered-vibe on a day that can feel very hectic. Valerie took both our engagement photos and wedding photos and we couldn't be happier with them. I highly recommend Valerie Demo and we intend to use her again in our future photographing-needs.

Val is not only fun but she is an amazing photographer and artist. Nothing ever feels posed or awkward and she manages to capture the incredible in between moments that are often overlooked. Hiring the right photographer was one of my earliest and hardest decisions during wedding planning. I'm so grateful I chose Val and I recommend her to everyone I know!

Valerie is awesome and we absolutely loved the photos she took at our wedding! First, she has a very cool personality, and if you are like us - kind of awkward in front of the camera - no worries because she’s very comfortable to be around, helping us relax and just have fun. She was also flexible with us when we were trying to schedule our engagement shoot just a few weeks before our wedding. If you’re looking to do staged photos, that’s not what Valerie specializes in. She (and we!) prefer natural, in-the-moment snaps. On our wedding day, we had to take our wedding party/family shots during cocktail hour but Valerie made it super fast so that we still got to enjoy some cocktails. She was also very helpful in hoarding appetizers and drinks for us to make sure we were able to enjoy them. During the reception, Valerie pulled us aside as the sun was setting (she told us it would be worth it) for some extra shots, and those came out so beautiful and are some of my favorites! We ended up extending our reception for an extra hour because of how much fun we were having and Valerie was totally cool to stay and capture that hour with us. We highly recommend Valerie and if you choose her, know that you’re signing up for great photos and super cute care packages!

Valerie was the most amazing photographer we could have ever chosen. From our engagement shoot (which it rained that day, but she covered it like a champ) to our wedding day, she was completely there for us. When I got to our venue, a few mishaps took place; my bouquet was messed up, I broke our cake topper, I had forgotten pins to pin our banner for the cake table, we didn’t have scissors to cut the cheesecloth I was using for drapery in the ceremony space, and we didn’t have a ladder to climb the trees. Valerie stepped in instantly. She found us safety pins, and scissors. She helped glue back the broken topper with some eyelash glue and tape. She also gave me a boost up the tree! She was just one of the girls in what was already a stressful environment. She was more helpful than even the venue owners. The images she captures are so in the moment and unstaged. The rawness of those moments captured are memories made that you wouldn’t have otherwise had without her. Valerie handled herself with such a profound professionalism (in an uncannily laid back way). She has a gift that I’m thankful we found. If I had to say anything about your wedding plans, it would be to make sure she’s a part of them. My entire bridal party was raving about her (and my girls have been a part of many weddings). Both my mother and mother in law were beyond impressed. Thank you, Valerie for everything you have done for us. I cannot sing enough praises. Our day would have never been the same without you.

With Valerie, you do not have to worry about your photos looking like every trendy pose on Pinterest. She has an artistic eye, attention to detail and great vibe that allows her to read a couple well and take photos in a way that reflects THEIR style and the style of the wedding. Valerie was a true professional and knew exactly where to be at what to do at every moment in the wedding (and even calmed me down when I needed). She and her professional team captured every special moment and element in a way that reflected the tone of our fun Nashville countryside wedding. The images are beautifully composed and universally loved-- everyone from my artsy friends to my traditional mother agreed they were the perfect representation of our day. Most importantly, my husband and I LOVE them and know they will be hanging in our home and tucked in our albums forever. She had a plan for the day (but was flexible when it rained!), quickly shared a couple sneak peak images and soon after sent us an amazing package with all of our images on a handy thumb drive. So easy! In all of her work, Valerie seems to have her subjects/clients in mind. I would especially recommend Valerie to anyone who has untraditional, contemporary, DIY, military, funky or style-forward elements in their wedding. She thrives in unique settings and with fun people!

Valerie was professional and fun, she captured every image I wanted and always adding her own creative eye behind it. She captured so many candid images of guests, laughing and having fun. I was so pleased with everything. If your looking for someone fun, professional, and takes beautiful photos then hire Valerie you WON'T be disappointed.

Valerie was such a breeze to work with. We created our own package that included two sessions as well as wedding day coverage. I loved her flexibility that allowed us to include the options that were important to us and forget the rest. Her personality is equally as laid back. She is very fun-loving and easy to get along with, making the photo sessions relaxed and natural. I absolutely LOVE every photo she took and hope to continue to use her for years to come.

The moment I saw Valerie's work, I knew I wanted her to be my photographer. Not just for my wedding, but for life! This is why: Valerie's photography truly captures the energy and spirit of moments in time (even moments you initially were no part of). Just looking at her photos make you feel a part of something wonderful and sincere. Valerie took our Engagement photos and our Wedding photos, and we absolutely love them! Working with her was not "work" at all. We felt so comfortable around her, and a good part of the time you don't even know she is there, working her magic. Valerie's prices were also VERY reasonable, even with her traveling to Appomattox, VA! This is why we were able to have our engagment photos taken with her as well, along with numerous other "bonuses" and services we would not have even dreamed of being able to afford, or gotten with other photographers. Valerie and her work are honestly amazing. I know the moments captured in her photography are something we and our family and friends absolutely love, and will cherish for years to come. I'm already looking forward to the days my husband and I start our family, and Valerie (I pray!) is there to capture those happy moments, as well.

We are so lucky we found Valerie when we did. We got so much in our package for such a reasonable price...it was almost too good to be true. Her work is amazing, and I highly recommend her!

My husband and I got married this past weekend, and I am so glad that Valerie and her second shooters (April Renee Photography and Amanda Manupella Photography) were there to capture every moment. Her prices are more than reasonable, she was easy to communicate with in the planning process, and she made everyone feel comfortable. My husband told me he was a little nervous ahead of time about having his picture taken, but once he got started with Valerie he had a ton of fun! Valerie got every photo I wanted taken, and she came up with some creative shots that we will cherish forever. We woke up the day after our wedding and she had already posted a few sneak peeks that I cannot stop looking at. I don't think I have ever felt more beautiful in a photograph. If you are looking for talent, creativity, reasonable prices, and someone you can trust to capture one of the biggest days of your life, then you have found her right here.

My fiance and I were in search of a good photographer that was reasonably priced but wouldn't sacrifice the quality of the pictures. There are so many companies out there that start out at $3000 (way out of our budget). Most of those companies will not even let you customize your own package. We found what we were looking for in Valerie. We first saw her work at a friend's wedding in June. The pictures were amazing and so reasonably priced. She worked with us to tailor down the expense and what we got were amazing pictures that showed off our bridal party's style. She is thorough and ensures that every picture you want will be taken. She's trendy. She's fun. She takes amazing photos. The staff and assistants she uses are awesome. And- her prices are unbeatable. What more could a bride and groom ask for???
