Her ability to connect with us gave us such a unique and tailors experience. The shots that were taken were breathtaking and even better than I ever imagined for such a magical day! Where do I even start? We knew Valerie was “the one” from the first phone conversation we had with her, as if her portfolio wasn’t enough to convince us. From the first time Valerie connected with my wife and I she was amazing. And she exceeded all of our expectations. I had a certain view in mind and Valerie went out of her way -literally- to create something better than I could have imagined for our engagement pictures. We knew she was going to blow us away with our wedding photos, but they came out looking like a literal dream. And Valerie worked her boots off behind the scenes helping us with our entire (very chaotic) wedding day! She really is like 7 people in 1!If I could have her photograph our wedding 100 more times, I absolutely would but unfortunately we only get to actually live it once. But we are reliving it by going through our gallery a bazillion times and picking new favorites every time we do!

Valerie is THE BEST!!! She shot our engagements photos and traveled to shoot our wedding in Austin. She and her team were so delightful and never missed a shot. It took my husband and I three day to look through all our wedding photos thanks to Valerie and her team's diligence. I can't wait to book my next shoot with her. Thank you so much Valerie!

I love Valeria I don’t have enough good things to say about her, she made us feel so comfortable taking photos and was really good at directing us. We did our engagement shoots with her and she was so friendly and was such a fun shoots so I knew she be perfect on the wedding day. When wedding day arrived she showed up earlier than expected which made it more calming because the day of your just hoping everyone shows up, not only was she the photographer but also very helpful helping my husband tie his tie and helping me figuring out my shoes and never once did she complain or seemed annoyed with how needy we could be at times. She didn’t waste no time in taking as many photos and making the family portraits comfortable and getting families together as that can be the most stressful parts sometimes. As the wedding continued It was still so much fun and got everything I wanted in for pictures ! We got our sneak preview and every single picture just came out better than I imagined it was all the things I wanted moody romantic and beautiful . Can’t thank her enough for everything she did !!!

Where do I even begin?? I could probably write a love letter about Valerie and her photography. I searched for months to find the perfect photographer for our wedding, and as soon as I came across Valerie's IG I knewwww she was the perfect one for us - and boy was I right !! She did our engagement, my bridal shoot, and our wedding photos, and truly blew us away every single time. Valerie was so helpful in the planning process for every shoot, and made it so easy and fun to collaborate creatively together! During the shoots she made us feel so comfortable and confident, it was so easy to just be us in front of her camera!! We had so much fun with Valerie and are so in love with every photo. Her photos have feeling and emotion, and allow us to relive all of those moments whenever we need. Okay this review is turning into an essay haha, but we are so so grateful to have had Valerie be a part of such a big time in our lives, and we're honestly so sad to be done!! Moral of the story: hire her.

There is no doubt in my mind that we made the best decision in choosing Valerie as our wedding photographer. The way she captures photos looks like art and was one of the things that caught my eye about her editorial and timeless work. Most of the time, I did not notice her capturing us at our wedding. Due to that I feel like our wedding pictures look and feel real as opposed to being so “posed”. I really appreciate the authenticity! And when it came to shooting our bride/groom pics she was really good at hyping us up and making us feel comfortable and beautiful. I’m so in love with all the Polaroid pics she took and the way she captured our families and moments from our wedding. She is definitely very detailed and it’s something that I like! We can’t thank Valerie enough for capturing our little wedding and for being a great human! ❤︎

Valerie was just amazing!! Due to COVID, we unfortunately had to switch the location of our wedding twice. Valerie was super accommodating and was with us every step of the way. Alongside being just an awesome person, she’s an AMAZING photographer! My husband and I had never had a professional photographer take photos of us before, but Valerie made the whole experience so comfortable and enjoyable. We felt so at ease with her and the photos came out SOO GREAT!! We couldn’t be happier with them and I am so happy we chose her to document our special day. If you’re considering Valerie just go ahead and choose her because she’s seriously the best!

Valorie is truly the best in the business! She is a true artist and every single photo she took was perfect. Shes responsive and thoughtful and helped with every aspect from the details to the big stuff like timelines. We love her so much!

I do not know where to start. Valerie is everything and more you could want to capture the precious moments in your life. She goes above and beyond for you. I love her timeless editorial and vintage style so much, and I appreciate so much that she asks for your inspiration and input. She is involved in every aspect of creating and designing the perfect photos, which is hard to come by. For example, she opened her BEAUTIFUL mid-century home to my fiance and me to take engagement photos in, and they turned out better than I could have ever hoped. I want to emphasize that we were strangers, and she took the risk of letting us into her safe space, which I will never forget. Her loving and genuine light is everything, and she is simply the best of the best. She is absolutely taking my wedding photos, and I cannot wait to see what her creative eye does. Valerie was such a gem to work with!! Choosing a photographer was so stressful to me because these pictures are f o r e v e r. To say that Valerie exceeded my expectations is an understatement. Communicating with her throughout the whole process was smooth and easy. There were a lot of details that I didn’t even think about and she was there to help (I didn’t have a wedding planner). She definitely relieved some stress! For the day of our wedding, she made me feel SO beautiful. My now-husband and I don’t love posing in front of a camera but she was able make it feel natural and fun; it definitely shows in the pictures! Throughout the night, she made sure that I got all of the pictures with people that I wanted (we had a 45-person wedding) and that meant a lot to me. I refreshed my email about a million times until we got our pictures back - I was beyond excited to see them!!! They’re perfect. Valerie is everything we wanted in a wedding photographer! She was attentive to our wants and needs, and made sure we were always on the same page. She made the otherwise stressful process of planning a wedding much easier and stress-free. Valerie always responded to us quickly and professionally, and was excited and happy for us! She captured our day so beautifully, and what I love is that you did not even notice her or her assistant during the ceremony or reception. I do not like when I go to a wedding and the photographer is front and center the entire time. Valerie got the same shots, capturing the emotion and the joy of our day, all while not shoving a camera in everyones face. Needless to say, my husband and I are obsessed with our gallery and would 1000% book her again!

I would pick Valerie 110x over to do our wedding day from the first time we spoke to the final results. Valerie takes photos that are stunning BEYOND measure and that will stand the test of time. Every time I look at them it brings back the joy from that day because she captured US so perfectly. She was SO sweet, SO professional, SO thoughtful, SO ON IT. Okay if you are wanting someone who will go above and beyond to get the perfect picture then look no further! Valerie is INCREDIBLE from the actual day of photography to the editing. Every time I see her pictures I am blown away. Not only that but Valerie was flexible and empathetic throughout the whole process as I changed my plans at least 3-4 times due to COVID. During the day of the wedding it was outdoors in August in Texas and Valerie showed up with an AMAZING attitude and essentially also became the wedding party’s professional hype woman! I cannot say enough nice things about Valerie she is so stellar at what she does and really captured our day in such an incredibly beautiful way!

Meeting Valerie was a fairytale in itself. As I started to look for wedding photographers, I found Valerie’s page and looked through her unbelievably breathtaking collection of photos and was immediately certain I needed her to be our wedding gphotographer (some might call it love at first sight). I thought I emailed Valerie requesting our wedding date and must have dreamt a reply because I thought she was booked and was so so sad. About a week later, and still in denial, I ended up back at her Instagram page and decided to look through my email again but could not find an email to her anywhere. With my fingers crossed, I e-mailed her again, apologizing that this might be a duplicate but I actually had never hit send!! (bride brain is a real thing, y’all) To continue our fairytale - she was AVAILABLE and I was shocked. I was pretty early in the game in looking for a photographer, but I was beside myself when she told me she could photograph our wedding. I can’t even begin to describe the beauty and grace she brought out of me during our portraits, wedding photos, etc. Imagine a clumsy, camera shy girl and Valerie just brought out the very best in me and honestly captured the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. I don’t want to sound too sappy, but she honestly gave me so much more than the most stunning photos. She gave me confidence in myself! She had so many fun and adventurous photo ideas and honestly I was so down for all of it. She absolutely knows what she’s doing and knows how to create the most incredible photos so I just did whatever she said and couldn’t be happier with the result. Valerie, you are truly incredible at what you do and I am so unbelievably ecstatic and grateful to have had you capture the best day of our lives. And we lived happily ever after with the most incredible and breathtaking photos from a true talent. Thank you thank you thank you!!

This is how much I wanted Valerie to photograph my wedding; I contacted her months before I’d even been proposed to! That should show how wonderful she is! I fell in love with her photos, how soft and lovely the light is in all of them. I knew I just had to have her be my photographer, so I contacted her as soon as I saw her profile on the knot. We got to know her when she took our engagement photos, which turned out just beautiful. I got so many compliments on them! Valerie worked hard during the shoot to make us feel comfortable (especially my husband, who isn’t the most natural in from of the camera). She was all that and more again on our wedding day, helping to scout out good locations for photos since we had to change plans because of rain. She was supportive, cheerful, and worked on a fairly tight timeline for my big day. We had a very themed Harry Potter wedding and she helped focus on lots of details, and fun shots with the theme in mind. I’ve only gotten back the sneak peaks but I’m already so in love with them. I can’t wait until l get to see the rest! This was the number one thing I wanted to go well, because the photos are what preserve your memories of that special day. If you’re looking for beautiful, romantic photos with a very easy-going photographer, then Valerie is definitely for you!

Valerie is amazing! My husband and I used her for our engagement shoot, my bridal portraits, and then for our wedding. Everything she has done is beautiful and so creative. She also made us feel super comfortable when taking our pictures. My husband doesn’t really like having his pictures taken in general, and he said she was amazing and he would shoot with her again. She is really nice and is the ultimate hype woman. I really think I’m going to have Valerie shoot all of our family picture stuff. 10/10 for sure!

Ok so Valerie is like the best person ever! She is such a sweetheart and a real pleasure to work worth. She always has me and my husband laughing and having a great time. Even our wedding guest mentioned how great she is! On our wedding day her second shooter Brittany, ran to Target to grab a bow tie for one of our sons! How amazing is that! Valerie is such a beautiful soul and she brought so much light and magic into our engagement session and wedding day! She was flexible and so much fun to work with. From the moment I inquired with Valerie, she was professional and kind. We had a 45 minute conversation while I was at work and she immediately won me over with her passion for our wedding and the vision we had. Valerie explained things in detail and was patient and never made me feel rushed about booking our photography contract. I was able to contact Valerie to get advice and details throughout the planning process. Never once did she make me or my now husband feel like a burden for asking questions or wanting to meet to finalize the schedule. She was there to help guide us, ensuring that we achieved the vision we wanted. The day of, she came in early to meet everyone and check out the space while immediately putting everyone at ease with her presence. We had decided to have a surprise wedding and the time we spent waiting for guests to arrive for the big reveal was nerve-wracking. Through it all Valerie was calm and patient. When the big reveal came she caught some of the most important photos of the whole day in the most beautiful way. Without being intrusive, she caught every moment from our ceremony, and afterward she handled wedding party/family pictures with such expertise it was painless and quick. Valerie came out with us to our after party, wandered around the Fort Worth water gardens, and captured our night to perfection. I work in the wedding industry and have seen many weddings and many vendors that make or break your wedding. Too many people cut cost where it matters most. Take the time, and invest in your photographer and choose the best- which is Valerie Thompson Photography. She will invest in you and present you with honest, emotional, raw, beautiful and timeless photos. Valerie was a dream to work with on our wedding day. She was willing to travel to our off-the-grid cabin, and it just so happened to end up storming all day. She came ready to take pictures in the rain and ended up making the images a moody set of photos that we'll never forget. Behind the photos all I can think of is Valerie yelling "yes girl!!" and "kiss her like you mean it!" at us. She is so welcoming and friendly that we instantly trusted her when she was directing us to go through fields. I'll always remember her as part of our special day.

IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE ON HIRING VALERIE DO NOT HESITATE AND BOOK HER!!!!! I feel so lucky that I stumbled across her profile here. I didn't know where to start with hiring a wedding photographer, and after meeting up with her I was in love! We did an engagement session as well and W-O-W!!! All of her work is so beautiful and she puts more than 100% of her soul into her work. After the wedding we talked with all of our family and friends and EVERYONE just talked about how much they loved her! Valerie was always her genuine self and I think that is why she stands out in the best way, rather than your typical wedding photographer who doesn't care about the client or even their work half the time. Valerie is seriously the BEST decision we made and I will only ever hire her for any future photography I need!

Valerie was simply incredible. I searched all over online finding a photographer with the feel that I wanted for our engagement photos. She was eager to help and excited to hear about our story. She guided us on how to prepare for the session and she made us feel comfortable like we were just being ourselves. On the day of the session, we hit a lot of traffic getting to the photo site and she was completely understanding and even extended our session so we could capture the awesome sunset lighting. Honestly, I only have great things to say about this woman. I was the last of my good girlfriends and sisters to get married. Every single one that had a wedding complained about their wedding photographers or they were wishing they had a professional instead of their uncle. For a bride, the day goes by in the blink of an eye. I reminded myself to be present during many moments, but it went by so quickly. However, through Valerie's beautiful photos of the night, I get to relive this night with loved ones as often as I want to. It is a lot of trust to put into someone, to forever capture a night you spent so much time and money and heart on. You can't go wrong with Valerie. Best decision I made for my wedding, hands down. One of the best decisions we made in planning our wedding is having Valerie be apart of it! From the engagement pictures, bridals and of course of our big day she did not skip a beat and nailed it to a tee! The great thing about Valerie, besides her insane talent, is she truly cares about her customers and making each part of the experience memorable. Valerie is AMAZING!!! My fiancé and I moved to Dallas a few months ago and found Valerie on the knot! Being that we were new to the area, she gave great recommendations and made everything so easy and seamless. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Valerie! We planned our wedding in three weeks and after a recommendation from a friend, we 100% lucked out that Valerie was available to shoot on our day. We had a small, immediate family only gathering and Valerie was the perfect, unobtrusive and lovely addition to our day. We met after my husband and I said our I do’s for the first time, and she was just as pleasant in person as she was in the conversations we had leading up to the event. Her turn around time was quick and she went above and beyond to edit a picture of my Dad and I in time for a Father’s Day gift, just days after the wedding. Choosing Valerie as our wedding photographer was the BEST decision we ever made! My husband and I actually live in Michigan, but got married in San Antonio. When we were searching for a photographer, my sister (who went to school in Dallas) said she had a friend from school who majored in photography- how convenient right?! When I decided to get married on an island, in the middle of a lake, in the middle of the desert... I was sure we wouldn't be able to find a photographer. Luckily, Valerie as adventurous as she is talented. We have stunning photos of everything and everyone (before, during, and after the wedding). She was incredibly supportive, creative and just a wonderful person to spend time with. I recommend her whole heartedly.

My husband and I booked Valerie initially for a smaller backyard wedding of about 80-100 people. She came and toured the house with us, brainstormed on what kind of lighting would look best, and was super responsive with any and every concern I had. About a month before the set date, my husband and I changed our minds and decided to do more of a pop-up style wedding in New Orleans a full week earlier than the original wedding date. Valerie was incredibly flexible and given the short notice and total 180 in planning, completely turned what could have been a disaster for us into perfect memories. She was ready to move forward with the new setting and even found some other spots in the area where we could take more photos at between the ceremony and the reception. I couldn't have asked for anyone more professional, kind, or flexible to have photographed our big day. From one bride (who swore she wasn't going to be a picky) to all of the future picky brides out there, you will NOT regret hiring Ms. Thompson for your photos.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Valerie over the summer. She is amazing! Seriously one of the most kind and friendly people you will ever meet, and her talent is out of this world!
