That weekend went off without a hitch all thanks to Juliana and the staff she had working that weekend. She was amazing. She tended to every want and need we had. From the moment s...he checked in our decorations at drop off she was excited. During the rehearsal she made sure everyone knew where they needed to be, as well as the day of our wedding. During the reception the staff was amazing, the food was delicious, the bar was great, and again they made sure everything was perfect so we didn't have to ask for anything. Our guests had a great time. Thank you all so much for what you did to make that weekend possible. Now this is where the process to get to that weekend was frustrating. When we visited the venue we liked what we saw, we liked the packages they had. We took a little bit to decide if we wanted to book our wedding there. We got ahold of the Sales manager, Angela, and told her we wanted to book the room (West). We set everything up, signed everything and we were good to go. This is where it went horribly wrong. We then met with the Design manager, Donna. While meeting with her we found out that our reception was booked for the wrong room, this was a good 6 months after we had signed contracts. By the time this error was caught the West room was already booked for another wedding. The next day my husband was emailing Angela all day trying to figure out how to resolve this issue. We ultimately had to change the date of our wedding, after Save-the-Dates had been mailed out, and invitations were already in our possession. This left us out hundreds of dollars. We were then told we were going to be compensated for her mistake. We then met with Chuck, the owner, in order to get this resolved. We finally came to an agreement in order to make up for some of the money we had lost. After this meeting, it literally took 3 new contracts with the changes until everything was correct.
Meeting with Donna was rocky, every idea we had for our reception was met with uncertainty. We were making our centerpieces, we had other decor we were making as well, adding some of our own lighting, and we also were not serving cake, we decided to serve pie instead. The decision for pie was decided when we met with Angela so this was known from the beginning. The vibe she gave off was that she didn't like any of our ideas because most of the decor wasn't theirs, wasn't minimalistic and she thought was over the top. None of this had to be set up by her anyway, Juliana did it all with help from the staff, and turned out beautifully.
Then 3 days, THREE DAYS, before our wedding I get a call from Donna stating she had just gotten out of a manager meeting and they had questions about our pies. My husband called her to deal with this issue. She said, they talked about it and the pies won't fit so we would need to rent another table to display the pies. We disagreed with this and asked about putting them in the kitchen, she told us that wasn't possible but they could put them on a wire rack behind the table. Why would we want a wire rack of pies behind us as we are taking pictures and cutting "the cake". The fact that this was an issue 3 days before our wedding was uncalled for. My husband then told her to have which other manager she talked to about this to call him personally. He then received a call from Chuck. Talk to Chuck it seemed like he had no idea about this issue, and said it was absolutely no issue to keep them in the service kitchen.
