Van Elk & Co.

My husband and I got married three days ago at Ritz Charles in Carmel and we have not stopped raving about Hannah and Van Elk Co. Even our guests told us the next day how much they loved our photographers. Since the start, Jenn was amazing with answering my questions and her responsiveness and communication was SO appreciated. I didn't see in general any photographers who had weddings shot in the ballrooms, so when I inquired Jenn about that, she sent me over 2 galleries to show their experience. It made me feel so good knowing they knew the venue and could shoot gorgeous weddings there. Fast forward to moving forward with the contract, it only got better and better. The engagement photos were an absolute dream. We went to Newfields with Hannah on the first day of snow (it was 70 degrees the day before and 28 day of our photoshoot) and we felt so bad about the cold, but Hannah was so positive and made us feel like a priority. My husband is pretty shy- especially in front of the camera- but by the 10th picture it felt like Hannah was a friend and had us both laughing and loose for the camera. We went home completely on a high and the pictures were absolutely worth being in the cold. Since that day we KNEW Van Elk Co was the right choice and we were beyond thrilled Hannah would still be shooting our wedding. We had 2 photographers (Allison was the 2nd photographer) and that was truly a blessing because poor Hannah was being pulled in every direction by family to get pictures with my husband and I! She never complained and was always so willing to go with the flow and we felt so good knowing we could capture these photos with family while Allison was capturing other parts of the reception. Throughout the golden hour photoshoot (after the family portraits) they made sure to be intentional with the shots and went along with every request I had. She showed us a couple of the pictures and I GASPED! So beautiful!!! It's only been 3 days so of course we haven't received any pictures yet- but we already know we love them! I will NEVER stop telling people how amazing Van Elk Co. was to work with and will forever name-drop Hannah!!!

I can't stop looking through my wedding photos! Jenn and Steve did an amazing job capturing our wedding day. It was a disgusting, rainy/cold day in February and you would never know. Jenn found an alternative location that allowed for the natural light that I wanted and the bridal party portraits, couple portraits and family photos turned out stunning. One of the reason's that I chose JVE was because I felt like she always captured candid moments from a unique perspective. She featured everyone, not just the bride and groom! Not everything was posed or staged perfectly, but that was a good thing as it made for photos that truly captured the day, the details and the emotion behind every second. I was beyond impressed with the photos that Jenn and Steve were able to capture of my day, and I look forward to viewing them for days to come.

Jennifer and Steven are a dream!!!! They clearly know what they are doing and know all the questions to ask to get to know you and exactly what you are looking for. They are also pros at making you feel comfortable and are able to create so many different styles of photographs. We're obsessed with our pictures. We also got our pictures like less than 2 weeks after the wedding! I was shocked because I normally see people waiting a month or more for their pictures. It was such a nice treat to be able to look through the gallery on the honeymoon. Finally, we were one of the many couples that had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID and Jennifer and Steven were so gracious. They were so easy to reschedule with and did not require any additional deposit. They even sent us a little gift which was so above and beyond. They truly care about their clients and it shows. You should absolutely hire them for your wedding.

Throughout the planning process and having to navigate through Covid, Jenn and Steve helped me feel at ease and were so willing to work with us during these crazy months of planning.
