Dear Annie and Hans Agarwal,
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We will always use honest feedback to help us improve how we deliver our services to our clients....
A partnership between our clients and our company must be treated with mutual respect and cooperation. As you mentioned, we were excited to assist you in planning your very small and intimate vow renewal service for your immediate family only, and not the platinum south-Asian wedding that you ultimately desired. Our team spent in excess of 200 hours attempting to meet an ever-growing and unrealistic list of “non-negotiables”.
After a lot of soul-searching we determined that we could no longer be your partner in planning your wedding. Failure on your part to communicate effectively and in a timely manner hindered our ability to plan your wedding. For the first time in our company’s history the well-being of our team members became a legitimate concern for us. We were left with no choice but to invoke our fair treatment clause and terminate our contract – a decision that we did not make lightly. Per our contractual agreement, all monies paid by you, minus the mutually agreed upon non-refundable retainer, were refunded to you. We sincerely regret that this arrangement did not work out for either party.
DO NOT USE services. I am the husband of a bride. it was supposed to be a beautiful memory. But 2 days after the final payment was made (we paid the 3,000$ fee in installments), ...
she quit a few weeks wedding. She left us with no decor, no DJ, no cocktail hour entertainment, etc. Essentially, we were left to plan a elegant re-vow/wedding in three weeks. Theresa Daly has a unique clause in her contract which allows her to quit for ANY reason. Your credit card company will side with her as well due to the one-sided contract -so DO NOT sign with Theresa or Vanity Fair. READ Her contract. Its very one side and will leave you with ZERO protection. Her excuse was she was harassed (by me) but I met with her only twice. If she was harassed then why drag my wife through the planning process until nearly the end, and wait until final payment is made to her, and then quit weeks before wedding to resign? I met her only first time and again at the Food tasting at venue. (which she did not recommend we found ourselves btw). It makes no sense. Theresa did not understand my wife's vision nor any of the religious requirements (e.g., Mandap) , gave over priced and bad quality vendors, did not manage it or provide guidance on timelines, etiquette, etc. and many items in her contract, and was overall unprofessional. She yelled at my wife on the phone once as well. I could easily sue for defamation (based on her attestation she sent to the credit card company as I have a copy), emotional and other damages, so I am evaluated. Either way, PLEASE DO NOT USE HER. See the other reviews as well. This is a trend with her. When I and my wife took over, we cut over $2000+ from the vendor costs by finding our own (Luckily we found vendors that were availale). But her vendors were massively overpriced as also there is possibiity she is making kick-backs from the vendors even though she claimed she was not. Anyway, its very COLD HEARTED and pure EVIL to quit on a bride and leave her stranded before the wedding, have no coordinator or support day of. She essentially ruined our wedding.
We can’t say enough about our great experience working with the team at Vanity Fair Events! From the day we met with Theresa we felt the stress lift. Her calm, practical and prof...
essional demeanor immediately made us feel like we were in great hands. Theresa asked us all the right questions in the very beginning to tease out of us what our vision for our wedding day was. After we answered all of her questions she was able to interpret what we were saying versus what we were really asking for. That takes skill and a lot of experience. The 12 months of planning was far more enjoyable than it would be have been if we did not have her in our corner the entire time. She introduced us to a venue that fit our vision and was so us! After that she began to recommend a team of vendor based on our personalities, style and budget. Theresa dealt with all the communications with our vendors and did all of our contract negotiations for us. It could not have been any easier. When our wedding day came around we felt like all we had to do was show up and have a great time with our families and friends. Theresa and her team were on it! I have no doubt that she dealt with things that came up that we aren’t even aware of. That’s why we hired her! Her expertise and level of professionalism is second to none. We highly recommend Theresa to our friends who are planning their weddings. We have referred her to 3 of our couple friends who all go engaged while we were planning our wedding. She has completed 2 of those weddings and our friends are just as thrilled with her as we are. The third couple will get married later this year and also rave about her. Based on our experiences with Theresa we have also referred her to my husband’s law firm to plan several client and associate events.
I am not the bride, but I am a bridesmaid and the sister of the bride. Theresa was incredibly rude to not only me, but my mother who had gotten out of the hospital the day before. ...
Theresa threaten to kick me out of the reception because I had 1 drink, I am over 21. This had been the first time Theresa had spoken to me at the reception. My mother wanted specific pictures before the ceremony, which she had told Theresa and the photographer. Theresa sent the photographer away against my mothers requests saying that she (my mother) had taken too long getting from the room that the bride had gotten dressed in to the staging room and there wasn't time for the pictures. These pictures are a tradition in the family. I ended up taking the pictures on my phone for my mother.
Also at the reception, there was no announcement that the newlyweds were about to cut the cake. The DJ never stopped playing music, Theresa just grabbed the couple and dragged them to the cake and handed them the knife. Again, my mother and I missed the whole thing.
Overall, Theresa started really good but then it went downhill very quickly. She was unprofessional, rude, and inattentive. I know I was not the only person who was disrespected by Theresa during this wedding. Needless to say, when I get married, I will not be using Theresa.
When my husband and I decided to get married in the church this year, we wanted it to land on the date of our civil wedding anniversary which only gave us 3 months to plan it. Wit...
h a full-time job, I knew that I would not be able to pull it off alone. That is when I went looking for a wedding planner and thankfully found Theresa. I had not used one for my civil wedding and did not know what to expect. Theresa was great from day one. We told her we were on a small budget since we weren’t trying to plan a huge wedding. She listened to what we wanted and worked with us to try and stay within our budget and vision. She assisted with all the details to include negotiating better rates with vendors and took away all the stress that would have been caused had we worked on it ourselves. Since she works with many vendors, she provided excellent references for catering, DJ, the wedding cake, photo booth, etc. Theresa and her team were professional and the results of the wedding and reception were beyond our expectations! We had a great time and so did our family and friends. She was there the entire time and ensured nothing fell through the cracks. We highly recommend Theresa for any wedding or party planning events since she has great experience and can work with any type of party or wedding and budget even the smaller ones like ours.
We used Vanity Fair Weddings & Special Events for our wedding and were overwhelmed with the service we received. Before the wedding, I was nervous and all over the place and There...
sa & Jason were amazing. They took my ideas on board and gave us the weekend of our dreams (we had a three day celebration!). They ensured the vendors were in place and everything was set up. They were even able to assist with emergency family travel plans. As soon as we got back from our honeymoon, we received a beautiful handwritten note from the team-something I doubt happen very often but another example of their professionalism. I would highly recommend their services to anyone considering getting married.
I removed my first review, because after posting the vendor called me directly and demanded that I remove the negative, but truthful review. I did not. The vendor has now threatene...
d to sue me for defamation if I do not remove my still truthful negative reviews from the internet. With that in mind, I will change the tone of my original review, I would not recommend ever using this vendor or Theresa Daly for an extensive list of reasons, but most notably because of her treatment of myself, the bride, and our family before, and after the wedding. For example, the day before the wedding, she flat out yelled at the bride, in front of one of her bridesmaids. She also argued with me over tent details, and suggested that the bride was not in a sound state of mind due to stress. Do yourself a favor, avoid the headaches, phone calls, and law suit threats and hire someone else. For specifics, please feel free to contact me.
