Paul is AWESOME! He is super cool, down-to-earth, helpful, knowledgeable... I can go on and on! He DJed our wedding this past Saturday and every has been RAVING about fun the party was! My husband I met him for dinner one night to discuss what we were looking for in terms of the overall vibe, our music choices, etc. and we ended up having a such a great time with him. He works really hard to make sure my & my husband's very different tastes in music were reflected in the music at the wedding. Everyone was dancing & having a blast. Paul also MC'd the event, and did a fantastic job. You would be a fool to pass up hiring Paul as your wedding DJ!

Paul is the BEST. He is so friendly and easy to work with. He was our DJ and MC for our reception over the weekend. Once we finished meeting with him a few weeks before the wedding, he took care of everything else, contacting the venue himself to get the logistics figured out. My husband really wanted a pro basketball type entrance and Paul was totally game. The music selection was perfect and the dance floor was packed all night. He was excellent at keeping everything on schedule so that we could relax and enjoy the night. Thank you Paul!

We love Paul! Our wedding was a week ago and we couldn't be happier with VCR Sound. Building up to our wedding, Paul set up a few calls with us to get to know us and our preferences. His questions helped us think of all the possibilities. On the day of the wedding, Paul set up the sound system for our string quartet outside and provided the mic and speakers for the ceremony. He did uplighting inside which really set the mood for dinner and dancing. He also MC'd a bit and helped move the evening along smoothly. If you want a DJ who is easy to work with and on top of his game, go with Paul. If you have a really strong sense of what you want for your music, or if you have no idea and need the DJ to do everything, Paul can do either!

Wrote the below review soon after my wedding, but let me add this addendum: I still can't recommend VCR Sound enough. Lately I've been paying more attention to DJing at weddings, and I honestly feel like I didn't just love his work out of some biased dream-state over being at my OWN wedding - he really does do a much better job than your typical wedding DJ. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Paul did an amazing job as DJ and MC at my wedding at the Falkirk Center in San Rafael, CA. Before the event, he was thorough but efficient with his questions - he thought of everything that I would have forgotten, but didn't have some long tedious form in the middle of all our event planning. He was always quick to answer our questions, too. The Falkirk Center wasn't the most straightforward place for audio - our ceremony was in a garden, the reception was on a lawn up a hill from there, and then dancing later was inside. Paul figured it all out on his own, and the sound came out great everywhere. Music and speeches were clear, good tone, perfect volume. Importantly, his timing was impeccable during our ceremony. Throughout the day, he did a great job of smoothly moving things along, while always checking in with someone to see if we wanted extra time for anything. A couple weeks before the event, I sent Paul an eclectic list of maybe 30 songs (swing house, indie rock, pop, etc. It was a real unorganized mess of stuff, some good for cocktail hour background, some good for dancing, etc. From there, he sorted it out and filled in the gaps to span probably 7 or 8 hours of time. It was definitely our style, but other people were commenting on how great the music was, too. Cocktail hour and dinner were cool and classy, easy to talk over. Later, he got a diverse group up and dancing together. Towards the end of the night, when we had some goofy 90s pop requests, he was ready with that, too. Paul was friendly, approachable, organized, and professional. Sound can really make or break an event, and we had an excellent time. Thanks Paul!
