I hired Angie, the Owner of Velour, for FULL wedding planning, because of the reviews she has online. We met with her before we hired her as well. We experienced months of no communication with her, despite trying to reach out and sending copie...s of contracts and information for things we had managed to lock down on our own. She told us part of her full planning service was to manage our contracts, help us get quotes, etc. Instead, we were sending her emails about what we had done, so that she would know... couldn’t get responses. We hired her for FULL wedding planning and we couldn't even get an acknowledgement to an email, much less a response... for months. She did send us a quote for somebody else’s wedding with their names and what they were having… We also feel like we lost out on vendors, because of lack of communication, as well.
After months of this, she finally called us to let us know that her personal life was getting in the way of her business and was sorry that she hadn’t been responding to anything. We were just happy to hear from her, so we sprung into action to try to help her get caught up easily. We put together an email with our contracts again and a list of things we had done, with questions of things we maybe should be doing. One simple email to help her. No acknowledgement... again.
After several days, or maybe it was a week, of no acknowledgement of that email, I reached out this time and asked if she had received our email via text message. I asked if there was someone else who could help as well. Her response to me was, and I quote, "I'm not going to be bullied and questioned about why we aren't responding quickly enough." She basically shamed me for asking if my email was received from days or a week later, even with all of the other missed communication. I believe bullying someone is a pretty big deal and can’t fathom that the love and support we were trying to show her was turned on us as being a bully, but I guess that’s all she had.
Angie decided that she didn’t want to do our wedding anymore at that point and QUIT. We asked for help and her go to... was to leave us stranded. Just like that. We asked for a full refund since she decided to quit, but were denied. I lost so much sleep over this experience and am truly hurt by it. The stress that she caused effected my work and just about every aspect of my life. It didn’t seem to me like she cared at all.
I actually still can't believe that she would leave us in such a terrible situation. We were loyal to Angie to a fault and she was so disrespectful to us. Some of the things she said to us were just awful. We are incredibly disappointed in her, the lack of service, lack of professionalism, lack of communication and this business as a whole.
I don't leave negative reviews of people or businesses lightly and it really hurts my heart to leave this review, but I really hope that this shameful experience doesn't happen to another couple.
