makeup was flawless and even the mother of the bride requested that Lydia do her makeup, though she had her own makeup artist on staff. I was a bridesmaid in this wedding, but will definitely be using Lydia for my upcoming wedding. My colleague recommended Lydia, as she had worked with her at a former salon. When I mentioned that I was in an upcoming wedding and was having an issue finding a dress that would cover certain areas (skin issues), she mentioned that Lydia was an excellent airbrush artist as well as a hairstylist. I was a little leery of using someone based outside of NY, but I was told that she travels to NY for appointments frequently, so I figured I’d give her a call. Lydia returned my call within 24 hours. She was professional, yet warm, while I explained my needs, and how I didn't want to feel like I was hiding my entire body in makeup, yet didn't want to show unsightly skin. She said that she was confident that she could airbrush the area for me, and even offered to do a trial for me when she while she was in NY for business a few weeks later. She was just as warm and professional during the trial and left me blown away! Ultimately, we opted not to do airbrush makeup, and she did the trick with just some cover-up and bronzer. As for my hair, well this is why I would use her every day if I could. So, I was supposed to have her create soft waves with my blown-out hair (using a large barrel curling iron…no biggie); however, on the day of the wedding we got humid NYC end of Summer weather and a blowout wouldn't have made sense for my naturally curly hair. Once she arrived, she suggested that I just keep my natural ringlet curls. I was a little reluctant, but I caved, and she went to work and 10-15 minutes later I had the most beautiful side pony tail (with ringlets) accompanied by a loose goddess braid-- it appeared effortless, yet beautiful (much like my make-up). I was so happy with the experience that I have hands-down booked Lydia for my own wedding next fall. She made me feel like a million bucks (especially as I was struggling with some post-motherhood woes). Thanks so much, Lydia.
