Based in Brooklyn, NY, Venchy Couture is a wedding dress design and alteration company. Founder Venera Tyan is a stylist, designer, and image consultant. She wants her store to become a place where people can find a one-of-a-kind piece, or help their existing clothes fit perfectly.
Throughout her journey to opening Venchy Couture, Venera gained experience in all manner of places. On moving to the Big Apple in 2014, she immediately set out to make a name for herself. While working in television, Venera started designing clothes for people in the art and film industries. From this, she evolved to collaborating with haute couture design houses. Marchesa was just one of those renowned brands. These experiences, combined with an education from University Of The Arts London, encouraged her to open this boutique fashion studio.
Gowns from Venchy Couture showcase Venera’s diverse past experiences. She and her team welcome you to a free consultation, where you can discuss any thoughts you might have about your gown’s silhouette or material. A hand-embroidered veil or chic cape adds a final touch of sophistication. Their extensive menu of alterations also extends to formalwear, ready to help your wedding party look their best.

wearing it. I appreciated how warm and patient she was throughout all of my fittings, even when I attended with guests for second opinions. The cost was a little bit more than I had budgeted for alterations, but was still reasonable for the NYC area and the level of craft I received. My dress was beautiful when I bought it, and Venus somehow made it even better! It was also easy to get to her midtown showroom via public transportation, which I appreciated as I don't drive.

quoted $600-800 sight unseen from other vendors, she had me come in for a consult that was very relaxed and pleasant and she quoted me far less than what I was expecting. She even discouraged me from making other changes to the dress, arguing that it fit me correctly already. We did two rounds of fittings (she didn't make me wait till the last minute either) to get the hem just right and she placed the beading in such a way that it was far more beautiful than the original hem. The bustle was simple and attractive and super easy to take up and down on my wedding day. She was so lovely to work with and the gowns in her shop are stunning so I would definitely trust her to do custom work as well if that was your inclination. Cannot recommend highly enough. (She's in Midtown Manhattan now, garment district.)
