Loved how beautiful my wedding was at this historical site. The workers were great, we only had one interaction that was negative with the venue. They were telling us to clean up t...
he ceremony seating that they had set up and claimed it was not their property (it was in fact theirs). I am unsure how it was resolved but wasn't a huge deal. Otherwise everything was absolutely stunning and perfect. Having a ceremony on the south lawn with the horse drawn carriage is the way to go!
Great venue; a mix of modern and rustic. We had our ceremony on the covered patio, then moved indoors for the reception/dinner/dancing. Lorna was easy to work with, and the on-site...
staff were always friendly and helpful.
There were so many things that I liked about this venue, but a couple things that I would have liked to know prior to booking with them.
The things that I really liked were, bein...
g able to bring your own drinks/food, the venue is very flexible with the amount of people you can have, it was very affordable to pay by the hour and you can start decorating the venue as early as 10am!
With all of that being said, the communication was not the best. To start off, I had a really hard time getting ahold of the person to book the venue. Then there was not a lot of communication between booking and the wedding day. She has told me that a week prior to the wedding we would do a final "walk through" to make sure everything was squared away, but I had to reach out to her in order for that to happen. Even after the final walkthrough (which was just a phone conversation), there was still a misunderstanding of when last call was. The security guard tried to close the bar down 30 minutes prior to the time we has discussed. The last thing that I wish they would have made clear was that last call meant all drinks needed to be finished. My interpretation of last call is that it is when you can get your last drink and have time to finish drinking it. Since there was this confusion, I had a lot of guest have to throw away their mostly full drinks.
Overall, I would recommend this venue as long as you are aware of the last call situation and the understanding that they do not communicate a whole lot.
We held our wedding here and loved the experience. Working with everyone at Mahaffie was great, especially Lorna, the Rental Manager, and our rental assistant, Paige. We held an ou...
tdoor wedding ceremony and an indoor reception on the South Lawn. Having everything at one location made it all so easy for our guests. We also rented the horse-drawn wedding carriage, making the day extra special for my bride. If you're looking for an affordable and historic venue, then we can't recommend The Heritage Center at Mahaffie highly enough.
My wedding day was perfect and I loved the venue.
Communications with the site were great all along the way. The site is exceptionally beautiful, inside and out. A great place for photographs at any time of the year. The kitchen, ...
bathrooms, and dressing room were close and perfect for our use. I do wish there was a restroom in the basement close to the dressing room, however. Ease of unloading/loading our items was good. The covered patio was perfect for overflow. The only complaint I have for this site is that it's open to the public until later in the day. Therefore, we couldn't set up in public walkways until they were closed. That put us behind in some ways, even with one of our vendors. Seems like our fee should cover that they are closed for that day...or at least close to the public earlier in the day (i.e. Noon). Otherwise, definitely a 5-star location.
Enjoyed having my reception at this venue! I love that it was a beautiful blank canvas that didn’t need much decorations. The patio and space inside was perfect! Lorna was a pleasu...

Affordable, great atmosphere, and staff is great to work with! Made our day absolutely spectacular!
ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH THIS VENUE. The day I laid eyes on this venue was the day I knew that I would be getting married here. My husband was adamant that we would not be getting m...
arried outside but when he saw this venue he decided as well that we needed to get married outside. The venue is stunning with fantastic lake side views, it was so incredibly clean, organized, and the whole team was extremely kind. The only issue I would mention is they were not able to get outside chairs for the wedding although we booked with them as soon as possible and were hoping that they would have them by the time of our wedding (they mentioned they were in the process of trying to buy a set) BUT with that being said I would still 100000% book with them again! I have recommended them countless times and will continue to do so
Beautiful location, great parking, easy loading and unloading. We had our wedding and reception at The Heritage Center. The day of our wedding it poured and poured we were to hav...
e the wedding in the covered porch area. The staff was so helpful in making sure the weather played no part in our big day! Even with the rain our day was perfect. We also loved the signage they had at the front desk with our names! Lorna and Paige are the best and very easy to work with!! Lorna helped us to find all of our vendors and we can't recommend Hyvee and Victoria enough. Paige was just the sweetest and was very helpful with the heaters and garage doors for pictures and during the ceremony.
Gorgeous venue with great and helpful staff. It’s also just a gorgeous place to take photos

This venue was so perfect. The staff were very helpful with whatever we had questions about or needed!
Great venue! Had everything we needed, was easy to set up there and they communicated really well! So glad we went with The Heritage Center!!
I LOVED EVERY PART OF IT
We loved working with Mahaffie and honestly very little complaint at all whatsoever. The only thing that really could’ve been improved for me at times was the communication. Some t...
imes we would email and receive a response in one or two days and more often than not we would email and never receive a response. Everything ended up perfect but this did cause a little bit of extra worry leading into the day.

The venue was amazingly beautiful inside and out. We were able to make the space our own. Our guests all commented on how lovely it was.
We loved the venue and generally speaking had a wonderful experience. The only issue we had was just the general bad attitude of the main person in charge at just Mahaffie. Lorna w...

er you need. Our wedding was at the park and it is a nice place for marriage ceremony and the reception was inside. We recommend to rent this place if you want to have a nice and affordable place in Olathe.
The Mahaffie venue was fantastic for our wedding and reception. Flexible, clean, and an attentive staff.
The Mahaffie was very accommodating during COVID for our wedding. The staff was flexible with us and helped us still have the wedding of our dreams. We got beautiful pictures here ...

had everything we needed, including a staff member on hand the entire day to answer questions. Great kitchen facilities, attractive seating, every size of tables, large space with cool looking wood beams, and plenty of parking. We absolutely loved this venue!!!!!

. We got married at the new Venue on Lake Olathe and I couldn’t have been any happier. I was also in a wedding lady year at the Mahaffie Center and the same quality of help was given there, as well. Thank you, ladies of Venues at 061! ❤️
Great Venue! Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location for our special day and the staff made the process so smooth!
My daughter and son in law had their wedding and reception at Venue at 061 in October of 2019. The weather was beautiful for that time of year. Everything was amazing inside the ...
venue with everyone who worked that evening. The event planner was always respondent and helpful. I would highly encourage anyone who is looking for a venue to inquire and take a tour.
Venues at 061 was AWESOME!
The venue itself was spectacular with great views fantastic facilities, plenty of parking and conveniently located.
The staff was extremely helpful and ...
it was by far the most reasonably priced facility around! We were able to shop around for the best prices for food, liquor and dessert for the wedding and reception
Truly a gem!!
so glad it was our families choice!

se from. We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at the Mahaffie. We still have people telling us how beautiful the venue was. They made my little girl dreams come true by arriving to the ceremony in a horse drawn carriage. I would recommend Venues at 061 to any couple looking for a venue.

rfect for our reception. We wanted a laid back reception that was still fun and beautiful. They got the job done and then some. We had a basketball-themed wedding, so aside from our themed decor, we only added some string lights and florals and it was perfect. Guests can be inside or out, which makes it great for all weather. It's also great in the daytime and night - what more could you want? We could not be happier with our venue choice and the team there - thank you for helping make our day wonderful!

ide at the Olathe Community Center. Everything was perfect. The staff was helpful leading up to the ceremony and Chris was there for us on the actual wedding day. All our guests had a great time and commented on our choice of venue. We were very happy and I will definitely recommend this venue to my clients.

The venue was the perfect place for us to share our day with friends and family. We had nothing but positive experiences from the venue staff.

ds are so beautiful and the centers reception hall and patio were exactly the rustic look we were wanting! Not to mention it is very budget friendly!
The Heritage Center at Mahaffie is a one stop shop. When my fiance and I were looking at venues we loved that the Heritage Center could accommodate having the ceremony, reception, ...
and our pictures all on site without having to move locations. We also loved the option of the covered patio as a backup plan for inclement weather. The park across the street at the Olathe Community Center was great for doing bridesmaid photos as we did not do a first look before the ceremony. Susan was incredibly helpful and patient throughout the process, Lorna was helpful but not in a very expedient manner. There are some inefficiencies the site could easily workout by having a "tip sheet" of various questions that are commonly asked that would eliminate needing to contact their staff for clarification (i.e. table sizes and recommend table cloth sizes for floor length, etc.). I would highly recommend the Heritage Center for a cost effective and gorgeous spot to host your wedding.
The Heritage Center at Mahaffie was the perfect venue for the start of our forever! Lorna was a great help through the whole process and made sure all our needs and wants were met....
The venue itself is beautiful!! We got married outside in front of the farmhouse, but they made sure we had a backup plan (the covered patio) in case it rained. We didn’t end up needing it but felt very taken care of! We were able to bring in our own caterers, tables and chairs were provided. All at an incredibly reasonable price for our wedding of about 180 but ended with around 150.
Very lovely venue. They were easy to work with and our guests loved the space.
We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding day. Having our ceremony on the patio was a dream with the sunlight glowing through the trees behind us and the beautiful gr...
eenery outside. The reception space has a rustic charm, and it's great that we had the freedom to decorate it the way we wanted to. The staff were very helpful and accommodating throughout the wedding planning process and especially the day of the wedding. All of the chairs and tables were set up for us, which was incredibly convenient. We highly recommend the Mahaffie Heritage Center to anyone looking for a charming, convenient, and affordable event space.
Great experience! Our wedding was organized so perfectly at the Mahaffie Homestead. Thank you for helping make my day seamless and beautiful!
My husband and I had our wedding and reception at Heritage Center at Mahaffie in August 2017. We couldn’t ask for a better place to celebrate!! I am originally from Olathe, KS and ...
both my husband and I live in NJ (where he is from) and we have friends from all over the states. Olathe provided the perfect location for our friends and family to come together and celebrate. The planning of the wedding went seamlessly considering I was in NJ and my mom and both of my sisters and my cousin did a lot of setting up, and confirming the wedding process for us! We couldn’t ask for a better day - not one hiccup or drama that needed to be resolved. My in-laws and family and friends from out of state were in awe in how beautiful the location was. Especially that we could all walk over to the reception within few steps! Thank you for letting us celebrate our special moment at Heritage Center!

perfect setting. There was plenty of room for dancing and hanging out. We had our ceremony on the patio outside and the fire pits going to help bring in a little heat. We couldn’t have been happier with how our wedding turned out. The scenery made it beautiful for sunset pictures and we got to walk around and take pictures by the barn. The bridal party was able to get ready downstairs during the entire day. They provided the tables, chairs and bar tables. It fit perfectly within our budget and it was such a magical night and we couldn’t have been happier with the venue.
The staff at the Mahaffie Center was fabulous. Everything was setup exactly like we agreed to. Attendees said how beautiful the venue was and easy to find. I was 100% happy with ...
the venue choice. There are many different options available and they were flexible as I made changes.

ing. The experience was okay but I don't think I'd reccomend it. There's alot of miscommunication. First of all trying to get ahold of a rental coordinator to ask questions is hard. It would sometimes take Lorna a couple days and it seemed like nobody else knew rental questions and pricing..that's frustrating. My coordinator had to get a little firm because they wouldn't schedule our rehersal and when they finally did ANOTHER bride was there!! Yes, hers was a little earlier but they still ran into our time. At our final walk through I was told I could leave our stuff as long as it wasn't furniture in the bridal suite. Nobody communicated with the staff so when I tried to bring my stuff they almost didn't let me. Luckily I was able too because Lorna answered and said yes. It was just frustrating the communication. Not to mention when I went to pay my final amount I was trying to ask questions and the body language just made me feel like like I was bothering her. In wedding planning communication is a big thing and my expectations were just not met. Not to mention my family even felt like susan was rude while we were setting up.
