We absolutely loved having our wedding at Veritas! The venue is stunning and the views speak for themselves. Our guests LOVED everything about the venue, but one thing that really stood out was the FOOD. It was the best wedding food we have ever had and many of our guests said the same! Jessee was phenomenal to work with, very helpful and responsive, and went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes. We had an amazing wedding and could not recommend Veritas more!!

A Family Affair
The story of this venue begins in the 1970s, when founders Andrew and Patricia Hodson fell in love in the UK. Andrew was a neurologist, and Patricia was a nurse, and together they moved to the US to begin a new life together. After living across the eastern US, they decided to make the jump into winemaking in 1999, founding Veritas in Virginia. Now, the venue is a true family business, with all three of Andrew and Patricia's children involved in the day-to-day operations.
Picture-perfect Celebrations
On your special day, you can prepare for the festivities ahead in the bridal suite. This tranquil setting is flooded with natural light and has space for your whole wedding party. Tie the knot on the lovely ceremony lawn, with sweeping views of the surrounding vineyards and mountains. While you and your beloved take some photos together, loved ones can mix and mingle at cocktail hour in the Tasting Room, complete with an adjoining deck. The grand ballroom is at the heart of the venue, a refined reception room with ceiling-to-floor drapery, hardwood floors, and elegant decor. The ballroom is 3,500 square feet and can accommodate up to 250 guests. For your meal, the Executive Chef will prepare a delicious menu, full of dishes that showcase the best of local cuisine. Wine-loving guests will enjoy sampling all the varieties, made from grapes grown right outside, and signature cocktails are available, too. Wedding packages include, but aren't limited to, the use of tables, chairs, linens, and china. - Andrew & PatriciaOwnersAndrew and Patricia met and fell in love in Nottingham, England while Andrew was a young Neurologist and Patricia was a nurse. Their careers brought them to the east coast of the U.S. in the early 1970s, where they stayed until settling in Florida in the 1990’s. After successfully raising their three children and and at the height of their careers they decided to take a leap of faith and pursue their passion, wine. In 1999 they bought Saddleback Farm, which at the time was a simple horse and cattle farm. Patricia saw the potential in the land and planted several acres of grapes with a wish and prayer. By 2001, they had their first vintage ready for production. That year, Andrew tried his hand at winemaking with great success and their love for the Virginia wine industry blossomed. Since then, Patricia and Andrew have worked tirelessly to expand on their vision, bringing Veritas into the world of events and the fine hospitality at the Farmhouse.The business is truly a family affair as they have been joined by all three of their children in the running and development of the business.

The food was delicious - we had many guests tell us how much they loved the food (including foodies with a very high bar)! We also love the wine and now will be ordering Veritas bottles for years to come. We loved working with Jessee as our Day of Coordinator - he was the best! He was so thoughtful, patient, flexible, and ready to answer any and all of our questions leading up to the big day. One of the reasons we chose Veritas was because of how much was already included in house - from catering to furniture and table linens to day of coordinator - this was a huge help to streamline the wedding planning process and so worth it as Veritas offers amazing in-house options. t then if I ever got married, it would have to be there. Fast forward to 2024, and my wedding day exceeded every expectation. The breathtaking scenery, the elegant ballroom, and the overall ambiance made for an unforgettable experience.
Our guests are still raving about the food! Choosing between the delicious options at the tasting was almost impossible because everything was so incredible. And for such an exceptional venue, it’s surprisingly affordable, which made it even more of a dream come true.
We were also lucky enough to have Meredith as our day-of planner, and she was nothing short of amazing. She went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect, running down last-minute issues, coordinating with all the vendors, and even stepping in when the DJ wasn’t playing our selections. Her experience, especially with weddings at Veritas, was invaluable, and on top of that, she’s incredibly kind, patient, and detail-oriented.

The moment we met Meredith, we knew we were in good hands. We were excited about holding our wedding at Veritas, but it was working with Meredith that sealed the deal for us. She was super responsive, dependable, trustworthy organized, kind, flexible, and helpful every step of the way and on the day itself.
At Veritas itself, there are so many great photo opportunities, the men’s and ladies lounges as well as the tasting room and event space are wonderful, and there are so many beautiful views. Further, the staff were professional, on time, and did a great job with everything. The meals were all perfectly cooked and received compliments (I ordered filet mignon and it was medium, a good size, and the meal was filling). The wedding party also had lunch from the terrace beforehand which was delicious, too. We are so thankful we got married at Veritas and would highly recommend Veritas and Meredith.

In addition to it's looks, the food was amazing, everyone was very welcoming and accommodating of us as a couple, and we truly couldn't have had a better wedding here. Both suites for bride and groom were gorgeous and comfortable and the available furnishings such as ceremony setup, reception tables, etc. were great.
The best part about having a working vineyard as our wedding site is that we can come back time and time again to reminisce and celebrate our wedding day.

Hall is a grand ballroom with beautiful drapery and soft lighting, making it a romantic setting for a reception. The event staff here is awesome and went out of their way to ensure our wedding was everything we’d dreamed. And everyone raved about the food! Veritas is just as lovely as many of the more expensive vineyard venues in the region.

Veritas and every person we met there. As an out of town bride, having everything at one place was a game changer, and I can honestly say that the whole experience was a dream. Emily was the "Day-of-Coordinator" but that title does not even begin to do her justice. Emily helped prepare for the day with all the right questions and met with me multiple times during the planning phase to ensure that everything would be perfect. On the day of the wedding, she conducted herself with poise and professionalism while maintaining an upbeat attitude! Thank you so much for everything you did, Emily!
Guests are still talking about how beautiful the venue was and how it was the most perfect backdrop for a wedding. If you are on the fence about this place, do yourself a favor and just go ahead and book it! We could not recommend it more. to years ago. We decided to revisit while hunting for a wedding venue and are so relieved we did. Besides the gorgeous landscape, we liked the idea of a wedding package that included tables, chairs, basic linens, wine barrels, and other little things we would've had to search for on our own. Emily and Jessie were amazing from start to finish. They kept notes of what we liked/disliked throughout the planning process. Emily was always just a quick email away - I really don't think I had to wait longer than 24 hours before we had a response. All of our guests were so impressed at how smoothly everything was organized. They were willing to incorporate our food requests for an Asian-influenced menu which meant so much to my family. Not only were the food and wine delicious but no one was kept waiting for their meal. We have loved coming back to visit and running into Emily. She treats us like a part of the Veritas family. The ceremony and reception sites are absolutely breathtaking and was a stunning backdrop for all of our pictures! me at every turn. This is a group of talented and motivated individuals working together to realize one vision of excellence. Well, I didn't realize how lucky I was at first. The reasons I chose Veritas were their delicious wine, two large indoor spaces, and in-house catering. Basically, it fulfilled all of my requirements for a venue plus I fell in love with the romantic ballroom. The reasons I was thankful (over and over) that I chose Veritas are too numerous to count, but all of those reasons spring from one thing: the consistently high quality of their staff. Specifically, our event manager Grace was very fun and easy to work with: friendly, competent, attentive to detail, and just as eager to throw a great party as I was. Her vendor suggestions were all perfect, which did wonders for my stress levels. She even worked the morning before my event even though she was sick just so that her colleague who was taking over for her, Elise, could get all the little details right. Elise also went above and beyond. Not only did she take over for Grace, she dealt with my cake being late like a champion. Her demeanor was such that I never felt worried and she made sure the cake was on time for serving the guests.
My overall impression of Veritas is that they are committed to taking care of their customers. Their laid back attitude paired with extreme attention to comfort and detail showcase their confidence and passion for their work, and it shines through in their finished products. I felt like my wedding was magical and a perfect expression of my (sometimes vague) ideas and feelings. All of my guests said that it was one of the nicest, tastiest, and most fun weddings they had ever been to.

Jill, the event coordinator is especially great - she made sure everything ran smoothly and went according to plan on the big day, even thought it POURED and we moved our ceremony to the Tasting Room. One of the reasons we originally picked Veritas was because of the amazing tasting room as a back up plan for rain (as my mother insisted we have). when we realized it was most likely going to rain on our wedding day, I was honestly pretty bummed...we were getting married at a vineyard with views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! However, the ceremony actually felt very intimate even with 160 guests, (everyone could actually hear our vows) and I am actually happy that it rained and we ended up inside! I can't say it enough - great venue and great people!!

o do a tasting. When we made it to the front of the line the hostess offered for us to do a private tasting! The gentleman who did the tastings for us was wonderful. He knew a lot about the wines. He even let us try a few not on the menu based on the comments we made about the different wines. While we were tasting a wedding party came in. I felt sorry for the bride, because there were so many strangers doing wine tastings during her reception. Overall, I was not a fan of the wines, they did not have many full body reds. I was mainly upset by the service we had from the hostess. Maybe she was just having a bad day?

s wedding from the west coast so I was specifically looking for a venue that had a lot of options built in like being able to have both the ceremony and reception at the location, including table & chairs, as well as catering and this venue definitely covered that and so much more. The wedding planning staff is quick to respond and answer any questions. They are also very flexible to work with your idea of what you want for your dream wedding with decor and the little details. I would absolutely recommend Veritas Vineyard to anyone and everyone and highly encourage you to take a visit. My wedding was more amazing than I ever thought it could be and its because of the venue and staff of Veritas!

thing else compared to the quality and clarity (which is VERY important when you're spending lots of $) of service that we received at Veritas. Frances, our event coordinator, was a pleasure to work with - during the planning stages, she was quick to answer all my questions and, on the big day, she was there to make sure everything ran smoothly. I received countless compliments on the food (Veritas has an amazing Executive Chef), and the professionalism of the wait staff. Even the rainy weather we got that day was forgotten, as Veritas flawlessly executed "plan b" with the ceremony site on the veranda. Needless to say, I cannot recommend this location or its professional staff highly enough!

prompt with our questions, we were already huge fans of the venue even before the day of our wedding arrived. Even with a hiccup on the day of, like RAIN, they had everything under control. Even moving the ceremony indoors minutes before the wedding ceremony was to start. But we had the utmost confidence in both Frances and Jill. Our ceremony was amazing and reception was perfect. At the end of the night, it didn't even feel like we had made any changes. It felt like everything happened just the way it was supposed to, and that is testament to how calm, cool and professional you both are.

of our questions and making us feel completely at ease (even the mother-of-the-bride felt at ease). On our wedding day, you could not ask for a more beautiful venue. And on top of that, the food, service, and especially the wine was amazing. Everyone raved about how awesome the food/wine was. We all had a blast, even despite the rain. Definitely a winner!

s will always hold a special place in our heart as it was the location of one of our first dates. The moment I walked into the ballroom, the room took my breath away. I enjoyed working with the staff especially the event coordinator Jill Shirey as she worked countless hours to make this day AMAZING!! My husband and I will be talking about this the rest of our lives. Worth every penny!

h and made the planning painless and simple, even from over 700 miles away. The venue itself is beautiful and the attentive service provided by the entire staff (i.e., chef, bartenders, wait staff) was excellent. At the end of the night the feedback from all of our guests was exemplary. We are still kicking ourselves that it was truly our wedding – we couldn’t have imagined anything more perfect.
Pros: 1) the venue, including the grounds and reception hall, is beautiful, 2) skilled event coordinators (Jill was extremely quick to respond to (many) questions via email. I cannot overstate how wonderful she was to work with both before and during the event – helping to remove a stain from a dress, checking on the weather forecast, providing suggestions/advice, etc.) 3) attention to detail (there is no need to hire an additional coordinator - Jill helped to create a timeline and provided direction for the rehearsal and during the event, Jill and wait captain kept us on schedule during event, and staff assisted with setup of items and ensured everything needed was provided), 4) food and wine are delicious, 5) added touches (had appetizers, sparkling wine and/or beer ready and waiting for wedding party arrival, snacks for bride and groom after ceremony, sent us away with a vendor’s meal), 6) flexibility (forecast was calling for a rain shower at the exact start of our ceremony so staff set up at two locations – outside and under tent on deck), 7) upfront pricing (while Veritas was one of the pricier venues we selected from, it is very clear from the time you sign the contract what you are paying and there were no surprises after the event).

ff (both on the catering and planning ends), a view to die for, delicious food, and a beautiful event room. They usually hold large weddings there (the ballroom can fit up to 250), but we had a small intimate affair (only 42 people), and they allowed us to use their tasting room instead (seats up to 50-60). This may not sound like much, but they had to move out many large pieces of heavy, club, leather chairs and couches. At our tasting we met with the chef, and he took our thoughts into consideration when he put together the final dishes. His food is not your average wedding fare; in fact, one of our guests said, "This is the best restaurant ever!" They also added a special "tasting bar" during the cocktail hour, so that our guests could sample more than just the 4 wines we had purchased. The price tag may be high, but it is definitely worth it! A word to the wise: this venue fills up its dates quickly!

cannot beat getting married against the backdrop of the blue ridge mountains, a cocktail hour in the tasting room, followed by a sit down dinner in the ballroom. Each location is beautiful and unique.

My fiance and I were going around wine tasting in the Charlottesville area before our friends' wedding in 2009. When we got to Veritas, we were more excited about trying the wines ...
and enjoying the gorgeous view of the vineyards and the mountains. It was while we were trying some of their excellent whites that we were told that they, indeed, host weddings there. At the time we had started to look at places and were frustrated with capacity restrictions or costs for venues we agreed would fit our (my) vision (I wanted a place with a picturesque backdrop, could fit 200+ people and it all cost under $25000). So naturally, we were curious about the ballroom and other services they offered. The person we talked to at the tasting bar encouraged us to go to the ballroom when we finished. When we walked in, we were in awe of how the ballroom looked. Our friends who were their with us, and recently were married, were also in awe and remarked, "If we weren't already married, we would choose this spot as well." My fiance and I contacted them and read over the FAQ documents they provided about costs and other services, and were really comfortable with the price point. The event coordinators, Chloe and Rebecca, were really helpful and easy to work with the entire time. They answered every question that we could think of and made us feel so welcomed every time we visited.
The Veritas has great amenities for the bridal party! There's a place for both the bride and groom to get read with their respective parties that are offset from the everyday business affairs. We met with the chef and he was very good in accommodating the changes in the menu we requested. And all of the wait staff were wonderful to us and our guest. I couldn't have been happier with the way the day went. Every guest gave glowing remarks about the scenery and the food. This place is absolutely spectacular!
