AMAZING!!
I struggled to write this review because my words can't capture what a wonderful experience it was to work with Katie and Kevin and how delicious their food creations are.
It was a pleasure working with Katie and Kevin. If you...'re planning a wedding, or any event for that matter, in the area, you want Katie and Kevin from Vermont Farms Catering to be there!
From our first meeting with Katie to our farewell brunch the morning after our wedding, everything was perfect and stress free.
For our food tasting, Katie had listened to everything that we had mentioned during our first meeting and Kevin cooked everything to perfection! After our food tasting, we had dinner at their restaurant, The Backroom. If you're ever in the Pittsfield/Killington area, you have to have dinner there. Be sure to make reservations, they book up quickly!
Our wedding was an intimate affair, 21 guests, immediate family only, so our rehearsal dinner wasn't traditional. Instead we ordered pizza and salad from the General Store and it was delicious!
The food and drink on our wedding day was unreal. Every guest said that it was the best meal that they had ever had. The first course was a butternut squash soup, topped with toasted sunflower seeds, scallions and pumpkin seed oil, it was so delicious I had to stop myself from licking the bowl clean (I'm sure it would have been a great photo-op, but wouldn't have been very ladylike).
The main course was a filet that was cooked to perfection, served with sauteed greens and garlic and rosemary crushed potatoes. I can't find the right words to describe how delicious this was.
Katie and Kevin did bake us a small cake that we used for the traditional cake cutting, but the dessert for our guests was a pie bar, Pumpkin, Apple and Pecan. Again, all the guests raved that these pies were the best they have ever eaten.
The night was topped off with a late night snack of cider donuts. I was standing with my back to the dessert table when these arrived and could smell them before they were placed down. These tasted just as delicious as they smelled and the table was swarming with guests within seconds.
The morning after our ceremony, Katie and Kevin catered a farewell brunch that included an omelet station, hash browns, scrambled eggs and waffles. Again, the food was amazing, the made to order omelets were a hit!
