Owner Linda Vernele Ezernack is passionate about designing the delicious and decadent reception centerpiece of your wildest dreams. She uses the finest ingredients and recipes handed down for more than 200 years to craft mouth-watering sweets that are made with love. From her great-grandmother Whitesell all the way down to her parents, every member of Linda’s family has baked. When she was just six, this baker made her father’s favorite dessert of peanut butter cookies and was immediately hooked. Since the passing of her grandmother Vernele and her father, Linda considers herself a food historian with the mission of preserving her lineage’s legacy. She also likes to incorporate the flavors of her husband’s hometown of Zwolle, Louisiana, by cooking with alcohol and lots of heat. Vernele’s New Orleans Bakery offers a wide range of flavors for your wedding cake. Classic options include funfetti, cookies and cream, red velvet with cream cheese buttercream, tres leches, lemon raspberry, and german chocolate. Favorites such as bayou brownie, key lime, carrot, and hummingbird, which combines carrot cake with pineapple and coconut, are also available. In addition, Linda and her team can create elaborate and elegant dessert tables with cupcakes, mousse shots, cookies, mini pies, and more.
