Owner Linda Vernele Ezernack is passionate about designing the delicious and decadent reception centerpiece of your wildest dreams. She uses the finest ingredients and recipes handed down for more than 200 years to craft mouth-watering sweets that are made with love. From her great-grandmother Whitesell all the way down to her parents, every member of Linda’s family has baked. When she was just six, this baker made her father’s favorite dessert of peanut butter cookies and was immediately hooked. Since the passing of her grandmother Vernele and her father, Linda considers herself a food historian with the mission of preserving her lineage’s legacy. She also likes to incorporate the flavors of her husband’s hometown of Zwolle, Louisiana, by cooking with alcohol and lots of heat. Vernele’s New Orleans Bakery offers a wide range of flavors for your wedding cake. Classic options include funfetti, cookies and cream, red velvet with cream cheese buttercream, tres leches, lemon raspberry, and german chocolate. Favorites such as bayou brownie, key lime, carrot, and hummingbird, which combines carrot cake with pineapple and coconut, are also available. In addition, Linda and her team can create elaborate and elegant dessert tables with cupcakes, mousse shots, cookies, mini pies, and more.

Ordered a wedding cake ($350) and grooms cake ($150) for my wedding. The grooms cake arrived damaged, crooked and melted. It clearly had been knocked over during transport as well as gotten too hot. The delivery person stuck flowers in the holes that were present which looked awful. The wedding cake was melted on the second layer, luckily I was able to turn it around. We were told by Shelby we would at least receive a refund on the grooms cake and never did, she won't answer any texts or calls.

RARELY have I ever been to a wedding that had a cake worth eating. But my wedding cake…TO DIE FOR. compliments after compliments on not only how beautiful it was, but how delicious it tasted. Staff was so wonderful and kind, making the entire process so easy and stress for. Will be using them again WITHOUT A DOUBT

Vernele's did a wonderful job with really understanding our needs (we had a smaller wedding, so a big cake wasn't necessary). Instead of having a bunch of leftover cake, they offered us a smaller cake (two tiers) and a dessert bar, which they let us customize to include mini apple and pecan pies, and spiced chocolate cake bites -- all of which were delicious. Everything looked wonderful, and tasted even better!

We used Vernele’s for our special wedding day. The cake was beautiful and delicious but a little flimsy. That was probably our only complaint. We had to do the cake tasting way before the wedding started. A HUGE THANK YOU to Sierra Catering for helping us level out the cake and keep it steady!!

We used Vernele’s for our wedding day, and they were amazing. We did a dessert bar and a smaller cake, and we didn't have any leftovers because everyone loved it so much. We got so many compliments, so I would definitely recommend them.

We used for Vernele's for our wedding cake and dessert table, and everything was delicious. We literally did not see our dessert table because all of our guests ate everything so quickly! It was really important to us that our dessert didn't just look nice but also tasted good, and Vernele's was able to deliver on both, while being cheaper than a lot of other places we looked.

We chose Vernele's New Orleans Bakery and Cafe to make our wedding cake, and they did not disappoint. Shelby made and delivered an amazing cake, 4 tiers with different flavors. It was divine and looked exactly as we'd hoped it would. On top of that, she did an amazing job placing the flowers on the cake. We were so pleased with how it turned out. We also love that we will get a fresh small tier on our first anniversary. We look forward to our next opportunity to devour the delicious cake by Shelby and Vernele's.

My husband and I used Vernele's Bakery for our wedding day and had such a wonderful experience! For starters, we had the opportunity to do a cake tasting which was delicious and memorable. As coffee fanatics, my husband and I fell in love with Vernele's espresso cake covered in dulce de leche icing with extra espresso. 10/10! Not to mention, this bakery was prompt and professional on our wedding day. Highly recommend!

We used Vernele's for our grooms cake. They were very easy to work with and communicate with. Email was our primary form of communication. The cake tasted AMAZING. They arrived on time to the wedding and were very affordable!

Verenele's was amazing! Linda was very quick to respond to emails, and she was sweet as pie (no pun intended)! Our cake was almond with vanilla butter cream and lemon with raspberry butter cream! The grooms cake was Chocolate Espresso Cake with Dulce De Leche Buttercream. The cake was SO GOOD, and the design was beautiful. Linda listened to our wants, and she exceeded all expectations with her design. We also rented a cake stand from her, and it was perfect! I would highly recommend Vernele's Bayou Bakery!

I would highly recommend Vernele's, especially the coconut cake. Even though I don't usualy like coconut, it was the best and not too sweet. Also, she did a beautiful watercolor design, and it was a fraction of the cost of other bakeries.

Linda is wonderful to work with, very personable and most of all she listens. Linda will do everything she can to make sure your special day is perfect!! Very reasonably priced.. My daughters wedding cake was fabulous and the grooms cake absolutely delicious!! 5 stars all the way around!!

Vernele's did such an amazing job with our wedding cake! First of all, it was the best wedding cake I have EVER had! So moist and flavorful with just the right amount of icing. Our consultation for flavor and style choices was thoughtful and never rushed. We decided on 4 layers with 4 different flavors and could not have been more happy, each layer was more delicious than the last. Talk about affordable! Linda delivered and set up to our venue with no extra charge on the day of. We are celebrating our first anniversary this weekend and Linda has included a freshly baked top layer cake for us to enjoy rather than having to freeze and defrost a year old cake. We are so excited to enjoy her amazing cake and relive that night once more :)

She made the wedding cake for my daughters wedding and did a amazing job it was so elegant and beautiful and it tasted amazing ! Will definitely be coming back soon !
