History
The home known as Vesuvius was built in 1792 by General Joseph Graham, making it the oldest standing home in Lincoln County. The Graham family was very prominent in North Carolina politics and industry throughout the 1800's, including state congressmen, senators, generals, a Secretary of the navy, and a vice Presidential Candidate. Joseph Graham was influential in bringing the iron industry into North Carolina and Lincoln County. The remnants of his Vesuvius Furnace still exist on the property.
Since the 1940's, the home and the property has been owned by the Lineberger family

ackage is 100% worth it as I did not have to worry about renting items or transporting things. I received many compliments on how beautiful it was from several of my guests. Jay and Kristy are beyond amazing, and my wedding day could not have been great without them! When we met with them before the wedding, I knew they had everything under control. On the wedding day, I had nothing to worry about. I would often think of things I needed to make sure were done, but they already had it taken care of! I also want to give a shout out to their nephews and helpers as they were amazing help as well! Everything was better than I could have imagined! Many guests told me how organized the day was, and it was all because of them! Kristy reached out to all my vendors before the day and had everyone on the same page. I cannot thank them enough for all the work and dedication they put into my wedding day! Vesuvius Vineyards is the perfect venue if you are still looking! I highly recommend it!

We have received so many compliments on our venue—our friends and family loved it! Our wedding was the perfect day—everything we hoped for—and Vesuvius Vineyards was a huge part of that.

ere's a creek running alongside the property and the quiet, running water adds such a peaceful tone to the venue! They have several options for ceremony sites, including an open air chapel as a rain option, and more gorgeous picture spots than you can count. They have everything you need-- tables, chairs, tablecloths, wine barrels to use as cocktail tables, arches, getting ready spaces, ample parking, cornhole boards, and more.
What really made my venue experience, though, was the constant support from Jay and Kristy, the owners. We hired Kristy as our day-of coordinator and met with her several times at the venue before the wedding day. She was very helpful in showing us typical setups and offering advice based on her past experience. She was very patient and never complained when I kept emailing her to update her on changes we had made! Kristy was soooo organized and on top of things, which meant I never felt like she would forget or miss something. This was such a relief because I didn't have to stress about any logistics on my wedding day! Jay bartended for us, and we also had them decorate for us and everything was exactly like we wanted! Kristy and Jay really made sure we had everything we wanted on our wedding day. I can't rate this venue highly enough!!!

lot of decorations due to the natural beauty. Vesuvius was wonderful to work with during COVID (we made the decision to reschedule our wedding three times due to COVID). It rained on our wedding day, but everything exceeded our expectation. Kristy and Jay moved our ceremony from outside to inside the charming chapel during the pouring rain. Jay and Kristy went above and beyond to ensure our special day was perfect.

The venue was absolutely beautiful with multiple areas for prime pictures with our friends and families. This was the 1st venue we visited and automatically knew it was the one for us and we couldn't have been happier with the results.
Our guests were able to take advantage of the scenic views around the property before the ceremony and during cocktail hour. Everyone we spoke to at the reception paid high compliments to the venue's many unique traits.
If it was possible to put a 10-star rating on here we would absolutely do it! We would highly recommend Jay and Vesuvius Vineyard to anyone!

om the North and they really enjoyed the unique setting. Jay was wonderful to work with and meet with us and the caterer several times to make sure we were set up correctly. We also enjoyed the bridal room upstairs to get ready for the wedding There was plenty of room for the bride, 5 bridesmaids, 2 mothers and 3 hair/make-up people. The grounds are beautiful and there was plenty of room for the younger guests to play. This is a wonderful venue!
Southern, classy, charming, chic, elegant, beautiful.
The owners are laid back and willing to accommodate requests.
Everything is stunning.

oldest house in Lincoln County (1792) and makes you feel like you're in the old south for your big day. I am from upstate New York and had many friends and family members from home come to our big day. They were blown away by how beautiful this venue is. One of my NY bridesmaids said Vesuvius reminded her of Melanie Carmichael's home in "Sweet Home Alabama"
Recently started in 2009, and already booked for most of 2011!! I think the secret is out :)
