We got our wedding cake and donuts from VG's. From the beginning, Sierra was responsive and helpful. We had a consultation call where we explained what we wanted, and she quickly helped us start the process. The prices were very affordable compared to other wedding things. On the day of, the donuts and cake were delicious and our guests loved them. Plus, VG Bakery is a San Diego staple, which was a nice touch to add to our wedding. My one piece of advice is to book early so that you can get your order delivered. They didn’t have delivery available by the time we booked, and it was a little stressful finding a guest who could pick up over 100 donuts and a cake on her way to the wedding!

We wanted donuts as the main deserts for our wedding and VG provided an amazing selection of great donuts that our guests loved. We even got a small cake for us to cut and enjoy! All of it was so tasty and we will definitely be stopping by whenever we are in the area!

We worked with VG to do our wedding dessert bar, and we were so happy with all of the items. Communication in advance of our wedding was great, and the VG team worked with us to figure out the right number of dessert items for our guest count. We loved the ability to just have a one-tier topper style cake for us to cut into and then to have a variety of desserts for our guests (e.g., carrot cake, donut bites, brownie bites, and gluten friendly cookies). Just to note, while VG does deliver to wedding venues, they do not set anything up or offer dessert stand rentals, so plan for those separately. Would highly recommend VG for any event (and also would recommend stopping by their shop in Encinitas for fresh donuts)!

We had the most delicious wedding cake from VG! The red velvet flavor (and all the others we tasted) was perfection. Sara was a dream to work with - extremely impressed with her service and the ease of everything. Thank you so much!!!

We are so glad we went with VG Donuts for our wedding desserts! My now-husband and I really wanted to do a dessert bar along with a smaller traditional sized cake and VG made our dreams come true. They worked with me to figure out how many desserts I should get given our guest list and also helped me stay within our budget. We also got to try the items before ordering which was SUCH a fun experience as well. On the day of the wedding, everything arrived on-time and absolutely beautifully. People raved about everything! I will definitely be recommending VG to everyone I know.

We chose VG’s to provide the desserts and cake for our August 2022 wedding and everything was delicious! Sara from VG’s set up a tasting for us to try different cake flavors and dessert options (doughnuts, cookies, brownies, cake pops etc) and following the tasting guided us through how many desserts we should order for our guest count. We ended up selecting an array of devil's food doughnuts, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, mini-eclairs, and doughnut holes along with a small two-tiered white cake with fresh strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. She also made sure to coordinate with our planner to deliver the desserts to our venue on time and without any issues. After the wedding, several of our guests commented on how delicious the cake was and how they loved each of the desserts they tried. My partner and I didn’t get to eat enough of the cake so we decided that our anniversary tradition will be to visit VGs every year to order a cake for us to share! I grew up visiting VGs on the weekends for doughnuts and it was very special to have them be a part of our wedding.

Since we went with our brunch menu for our wedding, that menu included donuts and we were super excited! Sara from VG's was so nice and very informative. I knew I was expecting 100+ guests and had no clue on how many donuts we should order. On our day, the donuts arrived before we even got to the venue; we even had extras leftover to enjoy for ourselves!

DELICIOUS!! Our wedding cake was so good, I was sneaking bits of the top the day after our wedding. We also had a dessert bar and honestly all the goodies went so fast at the wedding reception, I wish I had ordered more. I tried one of everything. The cupcakes are so moist and the frosting was delicious, not too sweet! Also, Sarah was the lead we worked with and she was so helpful and accommodating.

We got our wedding cake and desserts from VGs and they were all AMAZING! Sara worked with us during the entire process and helped us shape our menu around our budget. We wanted to customize our donut designs to match our décor and they turned out so cute! The cake turned out exactly how we were envisioning too!

Have been going to VG’s for years so I knew I wanted them for our wedding cake! It was absolutely delicious and turned out just as we wanted!

After 2 postponements (read 3 wedding dates) due to covid, we finally had our wedding on 4/16/22. We had many dessert tasting and we ultimately went with VG bakery due to taste and quality! Throughout our postponements VG bakery was very professional, flexible, and communicative which made a stressful situation of postponing our wedding less stressful. We hade cakes, cookies, brownies, and donut bites and they were a hit! Our guests, as well as ourselves, loved them! It was such a hit that we actually did not get to have any of the cookies/brownies/donuts because they ran out so quickly. The staff was responsive and easy to work with. The cakes/desserts are also very reasonably priced for how delicious they were. Thanks VG bakery!

VG catered our wedding at the end of March and it was seriously amazing! We ordered a two-tier Chocolate Cake with Mocha Filling and a variety of donuts and they were all absolute perfection! All of our guests were in heaven and came up to me to ask where I got them from because they already wanted more! VG was so easy to work with and made everything seamless. Sara, the event manager, was so kind and really took great care of us. Thanks again, VG!!

VG Donut & Bakery did our wedding cake and dessert table for our wedding in November 2021. After our initial cake tasting at VG we knew that they were the bakery for us. Everything that we tasted was delicious. They were so easy to work with in getting together our order and even let us know that we could cut down on our desserts to help save money. The day of the wedding, they were so timely in dropping off our desserts. I highly recommend them for all your dessert needs.

VG's created a gorgeous and delicious wedding cake for our wedding on November 6th. The delivery process was so seamless and their prices were extremely fair. We would recommend them to anybody in San Diego looking for a wedding cake or similar treats!

VG's was incredible for my wedding! We did a dessert bar and everything was wonderful. I'm not even a sweets/cake person and our small red velvet cake was to die for. The cinnamon rolls and cake pops were a huge hit with the guests too! Ordering with VGs was super easy and they have everything you need on their website, Sarah was so sweet and helpful in editing our order when the guest count changed! Can't recommend them enough. Absolutely will be stopping by more frequently for sweets.

Truly the BEST donuts!! We had our wedding cake and donut bar for our wedding from VGs and could not have loved it more. Our guests would not stop raving about the donuts and donut holes!! The VG team was amazing to work with and plan our cake/dessert bar with. They did our smaller cake for our wedding during COVID and then made our larger one for our delayed celebration. If you need a donut on a random week or need hundreds of donuts like we did, I could not recommend them more. Their donut holes are HUGE and our guests got to enjoy a ton and then take some home with them for later. Truly my husband and I’s favorite donuts!!

I cannot recommend VG's enough for your wedding day. The communication beforehand is clear and concise. The desserts are INCREDIBLE. One of my favorite bakeries in southern California, and we were so happy to be able to have them for our wedding in La Jolla.

First of all these are the best doughnuts there are. Like many people, we were supposed to get married in 2020 but had to postpone. VG was flexible and made it easy to reschedule. We decided somewhat last minute to add on delivery and they were flexible with that too. The doughnuts were delicious and reasonably priced. Everyone loved them!

VG donuts was a recommendation from a co-worker for their wedding cake. At first I thought it was crazy to go to a donut shop for a wedding cake, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! When we picked up the cakes for the tastings there was a massive line because their donuts are amazing (as long as you prepay you don’t have to wait in line at all- and everything was super quick at pick up.) Megan was awesome with all of her help with picking flavors and helping decide how much of what we needed. She was super helpful and made our experience exceptional since she was our point person! Let me just say walking into our venue- our cake was absolutely gorgeous! It was situated next to our sweetheart table and it was an absolute beautiful cake- and exactly as I had pictured!!! When we did our cake cutting, we immediately had planned to go into the bouquet toss after- and the coordinator had to pull me away from my cake- yes it was that good! I actually ate a piece for breakfast the following day haha. We also added on brownie bites, chocolate chip cookies and the macaroons for some quick bites and everyone raved most about how it was the best cookies they’ve ever had!!! To sum it all up, the people are phenomenal, it was exceptional for taste, they are priced extremely well, and the cake was absolutely beautiful! I would choose them time and time again for and cake needs!!!

For our original wedding plan, we had submitted an order of enough donuts for 200 and a giant cake - due to covid we decided to have major downsize of our wedding and VG Donuts was more than accommodating. We ended up ordering approx 100 donuts still and an adorable naked cake. Not only did they change or order with no hassle but our new order was delicious and ready for pickup when we needed it! We had a great experience and are so glad we used their services for our wedding. They were even will to deliver, but it was not necessary as a friend lived super close. Recommend them fr your special day 10000%

My husband and I had VG do our wedding cake and they did not disappoint! We had a number of last minute changes due to planning a wedding during COVID and Meagan and the staff at VG were very accommodating and understanding. The cake was nothing less than delicious and all our guests raved that it was the best cake they had ever had. Even my husband who is not a huge cake eater was obsessed with the marble cake with oreo filling we chose for our cake. I cannot recommend VG enough, they make the planning process and delivery of the cake so easy and seamless.

I grew up eating VG donuts and knew that I wanted these at our wedding. We ended up having dozens of donuts as an alternative to cake and we are so glad we chose VGs. Not only was this a great and nostalgic way to bring in a thread of my childhood, but our local and out of town guests raved about them. Multiple guests shared that they ate 3+ donuts that night. By the time I actually got to them, there were only a handful left (despite ordering enough for guests to have multiple). We worked with Hailey on the wedding team and she was great. Quick to respond, helpful with any questions we had, and kind. Both my husband and I are so glad we made the decision to order donuts from VG. My only regret is not ordering even more donuts!

VG Donuts was recommended by our venue and we were so happy with how everything turned out. Before making an appointment we called for quotes, and couldn’t believe how affordable their cakes were. Not only that, but found out we would receive complimentary cakes for our tasting that we could take home and share with our family. Samantha & Janette were an absolute delight to work with. They were quick to respond to emails and easy to communicate with. They delivered the cakes on time with no trouble. I would highly recommend VG Donuts!

We worked with VG Donut & Bakery to make our wedding cake. Our venue is partnered with VG as the dedicated bakery, and my fiancé and I had no complaints! We’ve always loved the donuts from VG, so having them as the baker for our wedding cake was a win for us. We worked with Janette and she was very nice and accommodating to our requests. The cake tasting was amazing! We had to pick the type of cake we wanted and the type of filling. And here is the best part… we weren’t just given slices of the cakes… we were provided with two whole sample cakes! (You can order additional sample cakes for $5). The cakes were delicious! We picked our flavors after the tasting and also got mini donuts with lemon jelly filling for the guest favors/dessert station. On our wedding day, the cake was delivered on time, it tasted absolutely delicious, and the mini donuts were almost all gone by the end! You also don’t have to worry about saving the top tier of your cake, they will bake you an identical cake of the top tier on your anniversary!

VG's was exactly what we wanted out of a cake/dessert vendor. We opted for a small cutting cake and big variety dessert bar for our wedding, including a mix of cupcakes, lemon bars, cake pops, doughnuts, cookies etc. Our guests enjoyed having an option of treats to choose from and raved about how delicious it all was. They are very easy to work with and their pricing was very fair.

VG donut did a beautiful job on our wedding cake. Their communication was always very fast as well. The only problem I had is that our wedding cake flavors were incorrect. Please make sure you 100% review your confirmations to ensure everything is correct. This was my fault yes, but it becomes overwhelming reviewing everything for every vendor a week before the wedding. The one flavor I was really looking forward to was missing, but again, my fault for not paying close attention to detail. Other than that, the cake was beautiful and tasted good. Side note: your florist must decorate with flowers, as the bakery will not if that's what you're looking for.

OMG VG Donut is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! All my guests raved about the donuts and cake for our wedding. Janette was so helpful through the entire process. We are huge baseball fans and wanted a baseball on the top tier so Janette came up with a great idea on how to get that look without weighing the top tier down which we were so happy about. She collaborated with the bakers to make it happen and it turned out exactly how we imagined. We opted to get the bigger size cake and we are so glad we did because all of our guests went back for second piece of cake and by the end of the night there was only a few slices left. The donuts are phenomenal!! Although we did not do a donut bar we had 3 of our favorite donuts and our guests could not get enough of how delicious and fresh they were. We couldn’t have been more happy with choosing VG.

Janette was amazing! Was was fun and easy to work with. I sent her a couple of photos of what we wanted our wedding cake to look like and their amazing bakers made our vision come true. The cake was delicious! I even got my shower cake from VG's. I have been going to VG's for over 30 years and they have the best everything!

Cake was really delicious and beautiful. We love their donuts so much we used them as our desert for rehearsal dinner. So great! They were a little inconvenient to work with only because they guard their employees personal information like they are CIA agents or something. We needed some extra information of the drivers so they could give go through security for our venue which they refused to give so we had to escort them. Not a big deal except it's one more thing I have to coordinate on an extremely hectic day and every other vendor I used was so understanding and forthcoming with their information. The reason I removed a star is mainly because they wouldn't even give out the driver's phone number so I couldn't call to check on the status of the cake the day of which made getting through security 10X more complicated. To be fair they did warn me that they wouldn't give out any personal information when we booked them. I just didn't realized that meant that I would be stressing about the cake the entire morning of my wedding. Could you get a business cell phone or something to help us out please?

We used VG Donuts for our dessert table at our wedding and for our cake! It was so amazing and very professional. The tasting was fun and we got to take home 2 whole cakes (so fun!) We got donuts, cookies, cupcakes and donut bites from them for our dessert table. Everything was delicious and several people mentioned this! We were able to take leftovers home! Yummy!!! Thank you and would definitely recommend them for any event!

BEST DONUTS EVER!!!! We decided to serve donuts instead of having a wedding cake. VG's is hands down the BEST donut shop there is. The donuts were so delicious and fresh even after a couple hours of sitting out during our ceremony / dinner. They delivered everything to our venue and tasted amazing. We got so many compliments on how good they were.

I worked with Janette at VG Donut & Bakery. She is the best! Super friendly, very responsive, and easy to work with. I was originally going to have just cake at my wedding, but after trying their donuts (ah-maz-ing!), my fiance and I decided to go with a small cake and several different flavors of donut bites. Our guests raved about the cake and donuts and unfortunately for us, there was not much to take home afterwards because they were all eaten! VG Doughnuts was amazing for our wedding. They worked with us on even the smallest details to make sure our big day was perfect. The cake was out of this world, and the doughnuts were amazing, guests called me afterwards to ask where they could pick up more! They were also so so so much cheaper than any other cake or doughnut place we looked at, AND tastier! It was perfect, thank you for making our wedding so yummy! It's a month later and friends are STILL asking where they can get more doughnuts lol.

We did a dessert bar and a cake from VG Donuts and everything was SO delicious!! Our cake came out exactly like the pictures we sent to Janette, and everyone raved our how good it tasted! VG had such a wonderful and wide variety of desserts for our dessert bar too. We ended out getting multiple different kinds of desserts and they were all a hit. Also, everything was so reasonably priced! VG Donuts and Janette were so organized, easy, and wonderful to work with we wouldn’t hesitate for a second to go with them again!

So great! Janette was super easy to work with and the cake and desserts were delicious. I loved how they give you cake samples to pick up and try at home. She also made the entire process super easy. I gave her the number of guests and she was able to figure out how many cookies, brownies, and donuts we needed. A huge hit!!!

YUM YUM!!! Totally recommend any of their donuts for your wedding. It was so much cheaper than a cake and it was so FUN. Everyone loved them. My husband and I also bit into a huge donut as our "cake cutting" They are so well decorated, and though some were worried if they would be elegant enough I think they looked very classy! Especially since with different flavors came different colors! They also have gluten free cookie selection (the lemon was amazing) if you need them! everything was great! no complaints, super happy we picked them!

Delicious, beautiful, perfectly made, and affordable !!! You can never find wedding cakes that have it all, but we did with VGs! Janette was quick to respond to our questions or concerns. The tasting is so easy and you get a tiny cake not just a slice. Our wedding cake was such a hit! The best part was that it was far from dry , it was moist and full of flavor. They have the BEST donuts and pastries too ... just saying.

VG did an amazing job with our cakes! Their prices can't be matched, and you definitely don't sacrifice taste! We had a 3 tier wedding cake, as well as a small 2 tier chocolate grooms cake with peanut butter buttercream and chocolate ganache drip with peanut butter cups on top (my husband's favorite)! It looked and tasted great! As a busy bride, I only wish I would've gotten to eat more at the wedding!

VGs Donuts has been a fixture for my family for years and deciding to use them for the donut bar and wedding cake was easy. The tasting process is unique in that we were able to bring sample cakes home and we had the guests at our our engagement party.vote for the flavors of the wedding cake. VG Donuts provided a dessert experience for our guests at our wedding. Our cake was beautiful, delicious, and SO affordable. The donuts we had were such a hit that it was literally gone in under 2 minutes. My husband and I didn't even get to have a donut! Janette is the events manager and she was so incredibly sweet and helpful. We got to sample entire cakes to take home and plenty of donuts and other baked treats.
