"I’ve driven by Victoria Wedding Chapel many times but never imagined just how stunning it truly is. Our outdoor ceremony overlooking Silver Lake was nothing short of perfect. The beautifully maintained garden grounds provided an enchanting backdrop for our 50 guests, and it was reassuring to know there was an equally beautiful indoor space in case of bad weather. Mary and her team were amazing, guiding us through every detail with such care and dedication that it was clear they were personally invested in making our day unforgettable. I highly recommend this venue—the pictures don’t do justice to the beauty and warmth of the experience."
It was such a wonderful experience!! They walk you through the whole experience so that there was no stress for my husband and I..Having our wedding on the lake was a dream come true! Our wedding went so well with no problems!! It was truly amazing!! I would recommend this chapel to everyone!! The price was really reasonable and the wedding pictures with the lake as the background was amazing!!
Absolutely beautiful wedding venue. Our ceremony was outdoors by the lake and it was stunning. Mary and Taylor were there throughout the entire process to answers questions we had, walked us through all types of wedding details, gave advice, and made the day run smoothly. One downside is that you don’t have an actual rehearsal for the ceremony so I wasn’t sure what to expect at some points but it all worked out.
Super professional and helped everything move with ease in the limited amount of time we had. Affordable and all the guests raved about how beautiful it was!
My husband and I had our small ceremony two weeks ago (1-23-21), and let me tell you it was above and beyond. The owner and staff were amazing. The ceremony space was intimate and decorated beautifully. We had booked their photographer and working with her was a blast! She will make you feel comfortable. We did the indoor ceremony, but I bet when the flowers bloom the place will be extremely phenomenal, especially with the lake behind.
Our wedding was phenomenal. Victoria Wedding Chapel makes it easy and as stress-free as it can be.
We really liked that they had the flexibility to do either an indoor ceremony or outdoor ceremony.
My wedding day was absolutely perfect thanks to the staff and the venue! I could not have asked for a more beautiful setting, and the staff ensured that I always felt comfortable and confident. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an intimate spot on a lake.
Beautiful Venue to get married, gorgeous grounds well kept, we could not be happier with how our wedding turned out at Victoria, the staff is amazing and Mary is awesome! We could not have picked a better place to get married.
This is a wonderful place to get married. Mary guided us through the process of preparing for our wedding and we were very happy with the staff's professionalism and the beauty of the chapel and surroundings. We would recommend Victoria Wedding Chapel & Garden to any friends who are getting married.
I'm hurt to even have to give this review... I fell in love with the chapel the first time I saw it and everytime after! I initially thought Mary was so great - so friendly and attentive! Until my wedding day... What bride wants to arrive at her venue to a scowling face, then be taken into a room alone to be yelled at? Or have someone undermine what you have chosen to do for your day? That's exactly what I got from Mary on my wedding day and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. My last memory of her is hearing the conversation between her and my husband as we left the venue, where he approached her to thank her for providing us with such a beautiful location and perfect day (not knowing what had happened early). He said "THANK YOU! Everything went perfectly!" To which she replied "WELL IT WENT..." And then stormed off. Luckily I didn't let her ruin my day, but she was definitely the worst part of it. 5 stars for the venue itself though, it's the most beautiful hidden gem in the area and the price is great!
beautiful venue. Felt a little rushed, but I loved my ceremony.
I got married here Sunday, August, 10, 2014, it was PERFECT!! Literally, prefect!! Mary is the BOMB and she knows exactly what she's doing! She is incredibly nice and patient! She had everything we needed: photographers, preacher, and even recommended our reception place, Overtyme Tap Room & Grill. There were no worries! The chapel is beautiful and intimate, and EXACTLY what we were looking for! The pictures are amazing and we will always cherish the memories we had there! Thank you so much Mary and the amazing team for making our wedding day perfect, it was more beautiful than we could ever have imagined!
We had a PERFECT day for an outside wedding by the lake! Mary was wonderful to work with. One negative was that everything is too rushed for the ceremony. This is not the part of my day I wanted rushed so I did not like that.
My experience with Victoria Wedding Chapel was wonderful from start to finish. I attended a wedding here a couple years ago, and fell in love with the beautiful scenery. When we started planning our wedding, we went and visited and received a tour, and everyone there is great. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day, and have our ceremony on the lake. It's such a hidden gem, I will suggest this place to everyone!!!
We used Victoria Wedding Chapel for their offsite ministers and hired Reverend Mike Frye to come do our ceremony in Oakland Township. I can honestly say that he MADE our wedding ceremony. We had some light rain and a drastic change in weather temps but he kept the crowds spirits up and made the groom and I SO comfortable. He had a great sense of humor, an excellent ceremony style prepared and did exactly what we had in mind with out question. He just knew what we were looking for and completely pulled it off. He was also great about staying in touch and working with us to prepare the perfect ceremony, VERY convenient. He was an absolute doll and we hope that everyone can have a reverend like him! I can't say enough nice things and we had SO many compliments from guests at the wedding, family, friends and other vendors. He gets our full approval!
I can't say enough good things about the staff and location! My husband and I decided to plan a wedding in 5 weeks and Victoria Wedding Chapel made it possible. I didn't have to worry about anything. Great experience!
The outdoor ceremony location here is admittedly beautiful and the reason that we booked our wedding here but outside of that fact this is an absolutely deplorable excuse for a chapel. The staff is confused, greedy, rude and unprofessional. The hidden fees you've read of are all too real (charges for using outside vendors, charges for having attendants over the age of 6... the list goes on) and the owner herself was the only stressful part of my wedding day, even with family relations that border on the Hatfields and McCoys. I was harassed the DAY OF my wedding about inconsequential details which I had previously called and had approved, details we had settled on months in advance were suddenly unknown to the "professional staff" and I was made to feel like I was crashing my own wedding when I asked to have outdoor pictures taken before the ceremony since I knew that we would be rushed out afterwards. Even my photographer was surprised and disgusted at how poorly I and my husband were treated by these women. I never had a wedding consultant but rather had to work with whomever answered the phone and, apparently, some of them don't know a whit of what they're talking about. When I told them that I had read a very negative review from a customer on their suggested photographer's FB page and would be uncomfortable using that vendor they shrugged it off (the photographer had posted pictures of a client insulting her body and the way that she looked!) and moments later the post was deleted. Just as the review my husband left on their own page was deleted... These women are more concerned with making money and making their job easy for themselves than they will ever be with making a bride on her WEDDING DAY happy in any fashion. I was harassed by the owner while preparing for the ceremony, berated, belittled, called a liar in not so many words and was even treated to photographs with none of my hand-made decorations in them because the employee was tearing them down before the guests were even inside. Directions to the reception, which I very specifically asked to be set out, were lumped on a table with all of our possessions which guests walked past on their way out ... I had asked if my purse would be in a secure location since I was warned they would move my property out of the bride's room during the ceremony. In a pile on a table by the front door is most assuredly NOT secure. Also, despite having a groom's room, they put my husband in the BATHROOM to get ready...WTH? We were treated horribly and would highly recommend to anyone considering using this location to find somewhere else, anywhere else. Michigan is filled with lakes, find another and save yourself being treated like a leper on your own special day. The only part of this company that is exceptional is their ability to hide the fact that they are nothing more than a wedding mill and will go to any extreme to further their own lazy and selfish interests. Also, I almost forgot to mention, that stuffed into the envelope with our marriage license were two pieces of literature attempting to convert us to Catholicism when we had very clearly advised them that our beliefs were non-Catholic. Wow.
We got married at Victoria Wedding Chapel on the first weekend of June. We chose to have our wedding in the chapel rather than in the garden. The chapel was beautiful! The decorations were lovely, and sunlight streamed through the windows. The pastor who performed the ceremony was pleasant, my husband liked him quite a bit. Our photographer (from Fox Portrait Studio in Waterford) knew just how to take fantastic photos at this site. Mary, the owner of Victoria Wedding Chapel was great to work with. She was very personable and helpful. We could not have had a better experience!
From the first time we walked into the Victoria Wedding Chapel, I knew it was the perfect place for us! It was very affordable & beautiful. The ladies there were so very sweet & helpful. I called and changed the music for the wedding a couple times and it was no bother, nor were my endless questions. The wedding day was beautiful & sweet. Our officiant was so kind and had such kind words to speak. If I had it to do all over again, I would go right back. HIGHLY recommended!
The staff was great. Really nice and helpful. The brides room was gorgeous. My only issue was the decor and the fact that you couldn't bring in flowers to decorate the chapel with.
I married for the first time at 40. I had a lot of years to dream. I never imagined that there was a place in the area, or even in this part of the country, that offered such an amazing package. I know it sounds silly, but I wish I could marry over and over just to have the experience that I had at Victoria.
Pros: This chapel has a BEAUTIFUL outdoor garden for the ceremony right in front of the water. We were blessed to have great weather that day as well, but it was comforting knowing that they had an indoor chapel in case of bad weather. They do offer a few different choices to add variety to your ceremony, such as: engraved sand cases, releasing of balloons, specialized water bottles, etc.
Cons: They have a very set way of how they want things done, but you can bring in your own minster and photographer. I chose to bring in my own minister because the chapel does not allow you to meet with their minsters beforehand and I was not comfortable with that. You only have the site for an hour and a half, so in my case, we had to start late and the service went longer than intended, and had ten minutes after the ceremony to take pictures. They were not lenient and we were rushed out of there. Lastly, I did not like how they did the rehearsal the day of and how they went over details with you the day of. On the day of my wedding, I could barely pay attention to what they were saying.
I was referred to the Victorian Wedding Chapel by two other brides-to-be. You would never think that this small place would have such beautiful dresses for any budget. Anyone looking for a beautiful dress, great quality, and wonderful personal service you have to visit the Victorian Wedding Chapel.
I loved this chapel! The grounds were beautiful and they made everthing perfect. It was a storybook wedding!
Beautiful, intimate setting. Friendly, professional staff. They went out of their way to make my day special! Somewhat pricy...
