with me and braved the freezing wind on my wedding day with no change in professionalism! We loved many of the photographs she provided as she is very talented. I personally was not as satisfied as others with final results. I won't make a comprehensive list but a few reasons why I felt it was fair for me to provide an average review: 1) I 100% remember saying that one of the most important moments for me would be my husband's expression for my first look so it was my expectation she would capture me behind him and then move to get his face. When I got the photos back there were none of his expression and that moment is lost forever except in my memory. 2) I almost got overcharged and so it's a good thing I kept all wedding emails. 3) I have email records proving me right that the original 7 hours (which is all we could afford) was to reduce pre-wedding time and maximize photos of my guests at the reception. She said it'd be better to do 1 to 8 to make time for portraits of groom and me. Lo and behold there was SO much time spent on detail photos I dont care about (and I said this in both meetings) and I have barely any reception photos. Not a single one of my husband dancing. I didn't care about getting ready photos either but figured I might as well get some since she came earlier but nope -- all detail photos of my shoes that had already been worn for an hour so you can see my nasty toe marks in the photos! 4) I should never be receiving photos of another photo. A couple of then photos in my final gallery were literally of framed pictures that I ALREADY OWN. Those pictures could've been of guests like my family who were there early. And meanwhile I have poor photos of my bridal party not being centered down the aisle and only ONE mid photography of my husband walking down the aisle. I even offered to pay for a second photographer but she said it would be fine. 5) I said repeatedly I wanted candid moments. There was a beautiful moment where my bridesmaid was fixing my hair and instead of quickly capturing it she told my bridesmaid to look forward at her. It could've been 3 seconds of clicking the button since she already had the camera ready but that tender moment is gone. All in all my 3/5 feels justified and generous. I'm grateful for her hard work and kindness and she did indeed make sure to listen to many of my concerns and work around it! But the day is over and I will never get those moments back for photographs. I even am getting new portrait photos of me and my husband with another photograoher because candid does not mean the same thing to different people. Also as someone who studied posing in her own photography classes and projects, I think that's something that could've been better.

She also came up with some creative ideas for pre-ceremony photos and was flexible with photos between the ceremony and reception to accommodate the needs of some family members. She was really efficient with the sneak peek and the gallery and was responsive to questions throughout the process. We did not take engagement photos or book any pre-ceremony photos with Villa. If I had it to do over, I probably would – both to have some additional photos from her but also just to have a better sense of what it’s like to be professionally photographed for something other than a headshot. Even so, Villa was able to minimize my internal awkwardness.
