A Private Tuscan Vineyard Estate, 30 Minutes From San Diego
We are Todd and Bruno, a married couple, and this Tuscan-style vineyard estate in the hills of Jamul is our home. Villa San Giovese is a private outdoor wedding venue just 30 minutes from downtown San Diego and the International Airport, set on 3.5 acres of working Sangiovese vineyard, adjacent to the 12,300-acre San Diego National Wildlife Refuge. Here is what makes us different: we host one wedding at a time, never two. When you book, the entire estate is yours, with no other event sharing the grounds, the parking, or your timeline.
Your Day, From Vows To Golden Hour
Exchange vows at our stone Italian altar, framed by grapevines, rose-lined paths, and lavender, with the outdoor ceremony area shaded by sun sails. Celebrate a reception of dining and dancing as the golden sun sets over the mountains. We welcome up to 250 guests for a full wedding, all-inclusive micro-weddings for 20 to 40 guests, and intimate elopements or vow renewals for two. For getting ready, the west wing is available to rent with optional pool access, and our renovated Italian kitchen and butler's pantry support your catering team. The neighboring Butterfly House is available to rent separately for overnight stays.
Every Detail, Personally Hosted
Because we live on the estate, we host every tour ourselves and stay present through every toast and every detail. Our customizable packages include complimentary décor, setup, and breakdown by our on-site team. We take a limited number of weddings each year, on purpose, so every couple has our full attention. And because we are a married couple ourselves, every couple is celebrated here, fully and joyfully, including LGBTQ+ weddings. We are Todd and Bruno, the married couple behind Villa San Giovese, and this hillside in Jamul is our home.
Todd spent his career in the United States Navy. Bruno grew up in the French countryside, in a large, lively family where Sunday lunch lasts all afternoon and nobody rushes the cheese course. When we found this hillside, we both saw the same thing: the light, the ridgelines, the quiet. It reminded Bruno of home and gave Todd a horizon worth settling down for.
So we built the villa by hand. We planted three and a half acres of Sangiovese vines, raised the cypress trees, and set a stone Italian altar where the view is best. We named the estate for the grape, and we run it the way we live: one table, one celebration, one event at a time.
That promise is why we host a limited number of weddings each year. When you tour, you tour with us. When you plan, you plan with us. And on the day itself, we are the two people quietly making sure the candles are lit, the vendors are where they should be, and your only job is to enjoy it.
The vineyard, the roses, the lavender, and the orchard are tended by hand, mostly ours. Ask Bruno about the orange trees. Budget twenty minutes.
We are also a married couple ourselves, which is why every couple is celebrated here, fully and joyfully. It is not a program we added. It is the house we built.

The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. I can’t recommend Villa San Giovese enough for anyone looking for a serene and memorable location for a retreat, meeting, or special gathering. We are already looking forward to coming back!
Absolutely stunning venue in East County. Owners are kind and enthusiastic about their property. Clearly passionate about their work. I attended a day long retreat here and wish we could have stayed longer.

fresh guacamole made with avocados from the tree on the property. Two types of grape vines are blooming. Gorgeous lavender.
Another plus, there’s plenty of parking. It’s a private setting…. Clean and cozy. Outdoor heaters and fire pit a plus. Market lighting.
Villa San Giovese was comfortable for a 15 person event but could easily hold 150 guests.
As a minister, I hope to officiate weddings here in the near future. I look forward to returning!

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond — setting up our space with fresh coffee, cold drinks, and even backup equipment when ours had technical difficulties. Their attention to detail made the day run smoothly.
Lunch was fantastic — we were treated to delicious tacos featuring both Pollo Asado and Carnitas with all the fixings. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, and the cookies afterward were a perfect sweet finish.
Later, we enjoyed a guided tour of the grounds, where the young grapevines are starting to bud and the sweeping views of the Jamul countryside absolutely took our breath away. It's rare to find a place that feels so secluded yet still so accessible.
If you’re planning a corporate event, retreat, wedding, or special gathering, Villa San Giovese should be at the very top of your list. It might be a little drive for some, but the scenery, service, and serene atmosphere are 100% worth it. We couldn’t have asked for a better retreat location.
