I've never seen a dance floor SO packed because everyone was enjoying the music so much, they couldn't help but dance every chance they got. Charles was extremely communicative and so easy to work with leading up to the wedding. We also had a lot to coordinate with a wedding party of almost 30 people total, a flash mob, a choreographed first dance, AND an original song performance by my cousin. Charles was patient and helped us plan every detail so things ran smoothly. If you are considering VJB, don't look any further, you will NOT be disappointed. The day of could not have been more SPECTACULAR! We had a pianist from the band provide music for the cocktail hour and then they completey lit up the ballroom the entire evening. From a "close your eyes and you would swear it was Louis Armstrong" rendition of What a Wonderful World to a star studded Italian Ballad - Time to Say Goodbye, which literally captivated the attention of everyone in the room, this band was a clear highlight of the entire evening. For our first dance, we had chosen a very particular version of I only have eyes for you and it was performed so perfectly. My husband and I kept looking at each other and commenting on how perfect the song was. It was such a memorable part of our reception to hear our song unfold. My dad and I used to dance to the jukebox we had in our basement growing up and one of our favorites was “To Sir with Love.” My dad surprised me with the song and it was the most wonderful rendition. I am so thankful that The Vincent James Band gave us those moments we will always treasure! I absolutely cannot recommend the band enough. All of our guests raved about the band and it truly made the day a perfect one!

Then, the day arrived, and the band was even better and stronger than the two times we had seen VJB perform during the course of the months leading up to the wedding. Every moment, from the moment the guests were arriving in the ballroom, to the last dance of the evening was magical thanks in great part to the perfect selection and flawless and energetic performance of music chosen by the band. I had just seen Earth Wind and Fire a month before the wedding, and hearing VJB perform 'September' totally blew me away, along with the entire crowd. I'm not sure what my favorite moment of the night was, but the aria duet during the dinner hour brought tears and goosebumps and a standing ovation from the 220+ guests in the room. That one performance set the VJB apart from every band I have ever seen at any special event. You have truly set the bar very high. I would be remiss if I didn't also send a special thank you for letting me and my son perform two songs, I Saw Her Standing There and Some Kind of Wonderful, with the band. At each niece and nephew's wedding throughout the past decades I have always performed a song or two with the band, but never with a band of this caliber. Thanks for making us feel so welcome on the stage and for backing us up so skillfully. Since the wedding celebration, everyone we've spoken to has told us it was the best wedding they've ever attended in great part due to the band. You managed to keep the dance floor hopping for the entire evening, from the first note to the last resounding chord. My husband (Anthony), on the other hand, wanted a DJ. He didn’t want to spend more than $1,000 for a single night and assured me that people would prefer a DJ. I decided to table the discussion because I knew that as soon as he heard the band, he’d change his mind – I was right. We went to see one of the band’s showcases one evening, where they did a preview of what we could expect at a wedding. I’m not exaggerating when I say that as soon as they finished their first song, we knew we had to book them. Anthony and I looked at each other with big smiles, almost as if we had already pictured how amazing our wedding would be if they played – right, again! We booked the band – before we even booked a venue! In fact, we booked them to play during our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The months leading up to the wedding (as you all know), were super busy, but we felt so comfortable speaking with the band members to iron out all of the details and our specific requests. They were always available, professional, and extremely personable. Wedding day! As I waited to walk down the aisle, I could see our guests listening to the beautiful, live music being played. The melodies were so joyful, yet soothing – just as I’d hoped – and it set the tone for the rest of the evening! Several of the band members also played during the cocktail hour, which added such a cool element. Instead of just background noises (or awkward silence – which does happen at events), while everyone mingled, they could listen to live music. Not loud, obtrusive music, but the perfect backdrop for an outdoor wedding on a warm, summer evening. As if all of that wasn’t enough, we still had the reception to look forward to! All of our guests filtered in to find their seats and prepare for the wedding party to be announced; the band, however, had other plans. We (the wedding party) were downstairs getting lined up and ready to be announced, when all of the sudden, we heard music. You know that feeling you get when you hear your favorite song come on the radio, you turn it up, and you can’t help but dance? This was ten times better than that!!! Anthony and I just looked at each other – “Is that the band?!” YES! I can’t even explain to you how amazing they sounded! As we walked in, I felt like we were in a movie. Even as I’m typing this, I can still hear the music, and the bass, and am bobbing my head to the beat. By the time Anthony and I had gotten to the center of the dance floor, everyone was dancing right along with us, sharing in that priceless moment! Perfect! The rest of the evening was just as perfect as that moment. The band played songs that every single one of our guests loved! They covered songs better than the original artists. They got all of our friends and family (some of whom never dance at weddings) up on the dance floor and kept it packed all night! Anthony and I left that evening on such an indescribable high thanks to the talent of the Vincent James Band. Three year later, we still hear about what an amazing time our families and friends had at our wedding! The Vincent James Band is simply the BEST!
