Our experience with Vinoklet can be summed up as mediocre at best.
Vinoklet is to lack of communication as Helen Keller is to being blind and deaf. If you are able to look (no pun intended) past this, this may be the place for you.
Bringing up specifics, the countless one-sided emails really gives you a boost of confidence that you look for in a wedding venue.
Now, the food. We decided to have dinner there one night.
The food and staff interaction was absolutely awful. The food tasted like store bought frozen microwave dinners. Our apologies to Marie Callender and Hungry Man. Your food is not as bad.
• They were out of half the menu.
• The steak tasted like rubber
• The wine literally tastes like its grapes were grown across from a garbage dump. Oh, wait…
As we were walking around the venue, we could not help but notice a peculiar smell wafting around. To say a mildew fragrance was strong would be an understatement. If we had to pin a more specific scent, we would say, an old man’s balls after playing a game of badminton in 90 degree heat.
The day of the ceremony did not disappoint either. Nothing like the day of your wedding and having your family setting up everything. They did put the chairs out though, so, that was something.
When it came time for the wedding to start, not one employee was around to help navigate people to their seats. Our wedding party managed to perform this task and line up for the wedding. Thank God they had enough sense to do this for us or else we would still be standing there.
Overall, the only thing this place has going for it is the scenery.
Vinoklet was a perfect location for a wedding. They constantly made things simple and easy, unlike many wedding venues that have hidden charges and outrageous price minimums for food and services. They had a great ceremony location by their fountain with a couple backup locations, including one in-doors, just in case the weather was bad.
The food and wine were great which is easily confirmed by going to their main restaurant. It was also appreciated that non-wine drinks were also available for guests that preferred those. I even had a few guests that specifically wanted to pass along recognition to Vinoklet for learning their names and generally being extremely friendly and accommodating.
I'd also like to give Kim and special shoutout for being extremely accommodating, friendly, and flexible. There were a couple potential issues that came up throughout the day but were all address quickly and quietly with Kim's help.
We cannot say enough good things about the venue and coordinator. The venue itself was absolutely perfect for an outdoor wedding given the weather was perfect that day. All the staff was polite and efficient with the service. They were also quick to accommodate any of our needs to make the big day go as smooth as possible. My wife and I will definitely recommend this place to others and go back for dining.
The staff at Vinoklet winery really impressed us with how accommodating and adaptable they could be. For starters, they allowed us to set up our decorations the day before our wedding which really reduced stress the day of the event. Then, the day of the ceremony they made the switch from the setting by the lake to the "plan B" gazebo 20 minutes before the ceremony started in response to an incoming thunderstorm. The staff even got drenched forming an umbrella bridge to help guests get to the gazebo and they were still smiling the entire evening!
The food was great and we paid a little extra to get cheese and fruit before the reception and it was totally worth it (you can't have wine without cheese and it kept us from getting too hungry when we were waiting for the guests to file in from the ceremony). Gorgeous setting, amazing staff, and delicious wine - really a great venue!
Highly recommended! loved the food, the views, the wine, the staff. Could not have been happier with how our big day went. we had the ceremony and reception here and will go back for dinner a few times a year! Kim was very receptive to all my ideas and questions.
Rob Miller/Vinoklet Winery did a FANTASTIC job managing and hosting our June 8th wedding. Not only is the setting absolutely beautiful, but the food, service, people and price were all totally perfect for us. They are just so nice and accommodating there. I will need to write them a more personal thank you note to show my appreciation but I really wanted other brides to know that Vinoklet is the place to go for your outdoor, rustic, beautifully green and lush wedding ceremony and reception. It was great that we didn't have to go anywhere after the ceremony and neither did guests. The staff made sure everyone was happy while we did our post-ceremony photos with wine, beer, and snacks. The organization was wonderful. I really enjoyed working with Rob Miller on my wedding. He is so professional and organized and will do what it takes to keep the bride and groom (and families!) happy. Such a good value too with the beer and wine for the 4 hour reception, it's all the guests can drink of beer and wine for a flat fee. I am STILL getting compliments on the venue and food and it's been two weeks! Thank you so much Vinoklet Winery!
We had a group of around 35 people. We had a great time. The staff seemed a little unorganized, did not have our table/area ready although we made reservations months in advance and they did not explain to the group well what was included with the meal
Vinoklet was an amazing wedding venue! I had an October wedding where the change is seasons was amazingly showcased. The staff was helpful from the time I showed up, and until the moment we left as husband and wife. Jackie and Kim were a great help with any questions I had. I had the wedding of my dreams...
The Vinoklet was great and very attentive to my needs. The food was great the reception was ready to go and everything I asked for was given to me. The only complaint I have is that they would not remove the extra chairs and tables that I didn't need. Overall I recommend the Vinoklet to any bride who wants romance, uniqueness, quality and beauty all in the same place. What more could you ask for it was truly a dream wedding!
I am so glad I decided to have my wedding reception here. First of all, the food is amazing. You can't go wrong with the food when you have your reception at a restaurant after all. Plus, the wine is great. It's very sophisticated, and the vineyard is gorgeous. You can't get better outdoor photos in Cincinnati! There are 3 ponds, the vineyard rows, and tons more to places get pics by! The hall is so rustic and pretty and the price is nothing you could top for the quality. Everyone loved it. Plus it's not boring like most reception halls. The only thing is it only fits 150 people, which worked great for me. Alcohol and food and hall in one package. I loved it thanks to the awesome staff! Honestly, I think we payed 4-5 thousand for food, wine, beer, cloths, and matching napkins. I didn't get married here, but I have seen pretty weddings here, and it's only a bit more price wise.
the wedding was beautiful. It was a summer wedding though so most of the guest were in the sun sweating. The room was small so it was hard to move around. My opinion if you are having a smaller than copacity wedding this place is perfect and you'll have great pictures.
Vinoklet was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good. The location was wonderful. I could not have asked for more!
Vinoklet Winery was our reception venue for our 10/09/09 wedding. It is a beautiful, yet quaint location. I had been there many times before, so I was already sold. My fiance fell in love with it, too, as soon as he saw it. The vineyard is spectacular. We were hoping for a lot of outdoor shots, but the weather didn't cooperate. My photographer made the best of the few shots we did get outside.
Guests raved at the organization, courtesy of the staff, the food, and of course, the wine. As a normally nervous hostess, this was a big deal to me. As much as this was "our" day, I wanted our guests to enjoy it as well. Their compliments proved we had made the right choices.
We found the prices to be exceptionally good for the value. The per/person price included food, wine, service, cake cutting, etc. so it was very easy to budget. A lot of other venues charge you for each thing separately, and I didn't want the nightmare of an unexpected charge. They even had the pretty chair covers and bows for a much more reasonable price than other venues.
The banquet manager and the staff were extremely accommodating to the bridal party through the planning and decorating process, as well as the reception itself.
My husband and I celebrated Valentine's Day at the restaurant, and plan to celebrate every anniversary there as well.
