Vinyl Countdown

From our first call with the Vinyl Countdown, my husband and I knew we had found the DJ’s we needed; after our wedding, we knew they were the DJ’s for which legends and myths are made. Before we found the Vinyl Countdown, I was very hesitant to make decisions, feeling very lost about the music for our big day due to fear that my music taste would leave our guests disappointed. James and Rew’s phenomenal attitude and vast experience left me more comfortable and confident than I ever knew I could be. Once they mentioned that they could get grannies on the dance floor to power metal, I knew we were in the best hands. To quote my now husband upon hanging up after that first call, “We are not a party; those guys, they are a party”. James and DJ Rew were professional, knowledgeable, and personable from the planning stages to taking the stage, and it was an absolute dream getting to work with them. During the planning, we discussed a bit about ourselves, our goals for the celebration, provided a Spotify playlist, and completed their questionnaires. Thinking that was all that went into it, I discovered that James was more than thorough and ready for details I never even considered. From asking for the phonetic pronunciation of our wedding party’s names to scheduling a walk through with our venue to find the best areas for acoustics, he had all I’s dotted, T’s crossed, and left us with absolutely no worries. Our day’s events even asked them to move from one floor to another, and they executed the setup and relocation completely seamlessly. DJ Rew’s skills and abilities went above and beyond playing good music. He crafted and mixed amazing songs to melt into one another like butter. There was never a lull or a beat dropped, and the music kept the spirit of celebration and pulse of the party going from beginning to end. I was awestruck to hear Andrew WK blend in flawlessly with Dire Straits. The Vinyl Countdown gave a grand shout-out and dedication to my Nana, who passed away and was deeply missed. Through the combined power of James, DJ Rew, and Neil Diamond, the dance floor was packed in her honor, and there was not a dry eye in the house. Our guests left raving about the music and our dance floor was never empty. Too often during wedding planning did I find that decisions were made for the benefit of others, rather than what the to-be couple wanted. However, after the last song of the evening played, I felt truly moved and touched because so much of me and my husband were in the soundtrack of our big day. I was never more happy to have packed sneakers, because I did not want to leave the dance floor. I know this review is now approaching a word count that compares to The Odyssey’s, but I could honestly keep going about how amazing The Vinyl Countdown is. However, if this review is too long and you did not read, leave knowing one thing: The Vinyl Countdown is the boss, applesauce.

We had an amazing time with Vinyl Countdown! Was very involved beforehand with what sort of music we wanted at our wedding. Kept the flow going great - if there was every a time that people ebbed from the dance floor they knew exactly what to play to get everyone back. The music was something I was nervous about, since it can make or break a reception, but we and our guests (young and old) had an absolutely fantastic time!

Our wedding was NYE 2019 and after the food, music was the most important part of our night. I can't express enough how amazing James and DJ Rew were. Before we even discussed a contract, they took the time and met with us more that once to make sure they were a good fit for our day. They provided us with great advice for the flow of the evening and accommodated our requests. It was important to us that the floor was full during dancing and they absolutely accomplished that. I guess I could ramble on about every detail but the short of it is this. Everyone danced. They went with the flow of the crowd and chose music that kept people out there and mixed in the music we wanted to hear as well. Our guests gave us so many compliments on the music. Guests thought we “curated” the the music list and picked every song out. And we said no. We just had a really amazing DJ team.

We hired Vinyl Countdown for our 9/21 wedding and are so happy we did! James and Rew were extremely professional, including visiting our ceremony and reception site a few months in advance and keeping in touch leading up to the big day. We loved the approach James and Rew took to personalize our playlist and received so many compliments on the music.

James and Rew kept our wedding reception poppin! I was connected to them through a recommendation from my maid of honor and I am so glad we chose Vinyl Countdown as our wedding DJ. They had us give them a list of our favorite and least favorite songs to know what to play & avoid. James and Rew integrated other music that we loved based on our tastes. They were responsive, timely, and entertaining. I was very particular about the ceremony music and timing and they didn't bat an eye. They accommodated us and always kept an open mind through the planning process. I'd share photos of our wedding reception but the world just isn't ready for that content. Trust me and just hire them!!

Working with Vinyl Countdown was truly one of the great joys of planning my wedding. I'm so glad I found them, and booking them was one of the best decisions I made during the process. They are so professional, so kind and fun. Rew and James were always responsive, offering solid advice while always being open to providing exactly what we wanted. They both have excellent taste in music and know what makes a good party. And they gracefully and quickly handled some unexpected last-minute changes on the day. Rew is an extremely talented DJ who actually mixes live — not something to be taken for granted! He did an incredible job at throwing us an epic dance party, mixing many of our favorite songs and giving them surprising twists. It exceeded my expectations. Our guests rushed to the dance floor as soon as he started and stayed up there all night. If you are looking to have an amazing party in Maine, do not hesitate to book Vinyl Countdown.

DJ Rew absolutely rocked our wedding! He played a variety of music and kept everyone dancing all night long. He is a fiend on the turntables and a really nice guy to boot. We would recommend DJ Rew to any couple looking to add some fun to their special day and ensure that their guests are entertained. He worked with us in advance to make a list of some of our favorite songs, and on the big night he provided an excellent blend of classic party tunes and personal choices.

DJ Rew is an absolute professional. He met with us prior to our wedding to discuss our vision for the event and musical tastes. My wife is Turkish and wanted to include traditional Turkish songs into a playlist that would get everyone on the dance floor. Long story short, he crushed it! There wasn’t a moment when the dance floor wasn’t about to bring the place down for the entire night.

My husband and I used Vinyl Countdown to DJ our wedding this past July. They were fantastic!!! Not only were Andrew and James amazing to work and collaborate with on the front side, but they were constantly in the know of what song to play next to keep the party going, the whole night! Our friends, who came all the way from NY to celebrate our wedding, said that our reception was one of the best parties they had been to in a long time!
