I wish I could give a higher rating for Mark! He was the best! We gave him a list of songs for the ceremony and special dances but told him to do his thing for the rest of the reception. I gave him some of our favorite artists just for reference and he built the best playlist off of it and even snuck in a couple of songs we didn’t expect! It was so much fun! We had so many compliments on his work and how cool it was that he played vinyls. He read the room so so well and kept everyone’s moods high the entire time. He did a great job with announcements as well and helped keep everything running smoothly so we could mingle with guests. I would choose him every single time! It was the perfect touch to our wedding. Thank you so much Mark!
Mark was absolutely wonderful and matched the vibe for our wedding perfectly! He had so much fun with us and made our celebration so much more special!
Mark Davis of Vinyl Village was absolutely fantastic to work with and did an awesome job DJing and MCing our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Since we do not live in the area where we chose to get married, we had little information to go on prior to contacting him and selecting him to work our wedding. The decision to hire Mark turned out to be one of the best decisions we made for the wedding.
Mark was a consummate professional and simply a super nice guy that was enjoyable to work with as we figured out what we wanted our event to look like. Mark promptly responded to all emails, was reasonably priced, and was a pleasure to work with when we met in person a few months before the wedding to talk through the event. Mark also made some great recommendations that helped the event flow smoothly and throughout the evening he played the perfect mix of music that got all of our reception attendees interested in dancing out on the floor.
Mark played every song on our “must play list” and avoided songs and artists that we told him we weren’t fans of. Playing vinyl was so unique and so cool and he has an impressive collection. Initially we were concerned he may not be willing or able to play more contemporary music not found on vinyl, but he was resourceful in tracking down certain albums we wanted to play several songs from and he gladly played anything he couldn't get on vinyl from his computer so all of our musical bases were covered.
We HIGHLY recommend Mark and Vinyl Village to anyone looking for a DJ in within the geographic area he services. He was totally awesome! (He’s based in Charleston but DJed our wedding in Summersville, WV.)
We are so happy we went with Mark for our wedding DJ. We created a pretty large playlist, and Mark was able to play most of our top picks! He did such a great job feeling out the energy of the room and adding songs here and there that were a perfect addition. Our guests had an absolute blast- from the 5 year olds to the 82 year old! There was really a great mix of songs that pleased everyone. Our family members raved about him the next day at brunch. We couldn't be happier or more willing to recommend him.
