Founded by Malissa, Violet Cake Co can help make your celebration even sweeter with their delicious creations. After graduating from Fine Art school, Malissa quickly found her love for pastry while living in Italy. Throughout the years, she has worked with some of the best cake companies in America and created her own cake studio in 2019. Violet Cake Co ensures that every slice of their yummy cakes reflects its clients' taste buds and dietary requirements. With a plethora of flavors and designs to select from, you can craft your dream cake from scratch. To ensure you have chosen the perfect blend of flavors, you can order a sample tasting box of up to five options. Violet Cake made our wedding cake and all I can say is wow! It turned out so great and tasted amazing. My wife and I are so glad we chose Violet Cake Co. Not only was the cake amazing, but they ensured the cake was delivered on time the day of. Staff were very polite and professional throughout the entire process. Highly recommended!

*******EDIT******* 5 stars given since she was able to refund us for our trouble and service not rendered. Cannot remove a review after it's been published. *******END OF EDIT******* We arrived to their mailing address for pickup for our cake tasting as this was the address listed on the Google calendar appointment they sent us at the time of payment/booking, but it was just their PO BOX. We then googled them and found out they operate out of a private home and were able to drive there for pick up. When we arrived, we called three times and no one answered. Since it took us an hour to drive to them, we stayed around for 15 minutes and received no communication. Overall - unprofessional service, zero communication, and I WILL be requesting a refund for the cake tasting that was never received.

I purchased a cake tasting box for my wedding & although the staff was friendly it seems there's a little bit of lack of communication amongst staff. My order wasn't ready on time, I messaged & texted ahead of my arrival, & was told one flavor was unavailable. I really was determined to let it all slide until I came across hair inside the packaging of one of the cake samples (each were individually wrapped). I sent the attached pictures through text & received no response. I just found it unprofessional that I communicated privately with multiple pictures from different angles to show I hadn't opened the package yet I received no response in return.

ion wedding and felt bad for her so I said yes. The reason Jessica did not receive a response is because I never received her texts. I checked my phone multiple times. I apologize for the inconvenience- we wear our hair in caps when we prepare tasting boxes so I find it very questionable that there might have been hair under the packaging.

We had researched a lot of options but we both wanted to feel comfortable about our decision for a wedding cake. Violet Cake Co did such a good job from the beginning to the wedding day. She made suggestions about flavor to us, things we had not thought about and it turned out perfect. I am so glad we went with VCC.

We chose Malissa at Violet Cake Co. because she spent so much time with us, getting our ideas and making suggestions. She was always very professional and the cake came out better than we imagined. It got to the hotel right on time and was set up in time for pictures. We would encourage brides and grooms to check out this company. Malissa was very nice, super talented and fun to work with.

We wanted an unusual style cake for our wedding. White chocolate shavings and pattered edges. It turned out to be exactly what we asked for. We also asked for raspberry filling. It very fresh tasing and delicious. Our guests are still talking about it. Thanks VCC. You did an amazing job.

I am a native San Diegan, grew up in Pt. Loma, attended local schools then graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Fine Art. Following my graduation, I moved to the East Coast with my husband and it was there that I discovered my interest and passion for combining baking with art, design and decor. While I was away I was fortunate to train with some of the world's best. Now, back home in San Diego, I continue to work hard, tap into my creative ability while always striving to perfect my craft. My goal is to collaborate with my clients to create their dream cake.
