How do I love Violet? Let me count the ways. Her work speaks for herself. Violet and her husband Grant are simply the best, there's honestly not much else to say.
I could never describe how thankful we were to have Violet as our photographer for our engagement pictures but also wedding! Not only is she so friendly and easy to work with but i...
s amazing at what she does! There really is something truly magical about the photos she takes and her editing that makes them seem timeless and make the pictures so special!! We cannot wait to see how our wedding photos turn out and will continue to recommend her over and over!
I had been eyeballing Violet’s work for a while, and knew well before we were engaged she was exactly who I would want for our big day. We had an amazing engagement session with he...
r and we flew her out to Vegas to capture us there for our wedding. They (her husband comes as a second shooter) were so patient, had good ideas for things for us to do, and made us feel comfortable. Comparing her to other photographers, I knew she was a step above others and was 100% worth the splurge for us. We love her editing style and the fact you get back ART of yourselves—not just clear snapshots. Can’t wait to work with her again in the future!!
Violet Short was fantastic from start to finish. Working with her a dream ! She knew exactly what photos I wanted and made sure we got them. She had excellent suggestions for poses...
and ideas and she had no problem wrangling our large bridal party. She stuck to our schedule and it could not have been a better experience. The same goes for our engagement pictures. The finished product is top notch. Would highly recommend Violet to every bride !
Of all the vendors we researched for our wedding, finding the right photographer was definitely the most difficult task. Not only because wedding photos are so important, but also ...
because in this age of instagram and social media, there is such a range of experience and quality among professional photographers in general --and I wasn't willing to take a chance for our wedding!
After weeks (maybe even months) of research and charting out pros and cons of all the prospective photographers, I still felt like I wasn't able to find any photographers within my price point who could deliver the quality I was looking for. Eventually, I reached out to a friend who is herself a professional photographer and photo editor, and that's when she recommended Violet. After looking at Violet's website and seeing her incredible work and at such a reasonable price (especially considering she would have to travel to DC for the wedding) I was sold!
Working with Violet both leading up to the wedding, and on the day of was such a breeze. She's the perfect mix of laid back and professional, which made taking couples and family portraits super fun and stress-free (even though we were running a bit tight on time.) She also has an incredibly fast turn-around time and was able to get all of our edited photos back to us in just 1 month!
I'm actually currently in the process of creating a wedding album and took forever just to pick out my favorite photos because there were so many gems to choose from! Thank you, Violet, for capturing our day so beautifully-
Violet is AMAZING. She did our engagement and wedding photos. She is so sweet and easy to work with. What made us love her even more was how great she was with our 3 year old daugh...
ter. She was always patient with her and was warm and welcoming towards her, helping our daughter cooperate for pictures. She always responded in a timely manner and we got our pictures back for both events very quickly. Plus her pictures are beautiful. You can feel the emotions through the photography which is just what we wanted. We cannot thank Violet enough for being apart of our day and capturing it so beautifully!
I am so happy that I was able to have Violet Short Photography capture my wedding. She was amazing to work with and extremely kind and caring. Not only was I blessed to have her ca...
pture my wedding photos but also my senior photos, and engagement photos (where I actually got engaged during the session). Her photos are absolutely beautiful and she gets them done in a timely and professional manner. I would/do recommend her to anyone needing a photographer for any event. I cannot wait to get more photos done through her in the future.
I so enjoyed working with Violet for my wedding. She is courteous, professional, and incredibly talented. I found her pricing to be extremely fair simply for the very high quality ...
of photos that she took, but what made her worth every penny we spent was her extreme professionalism. She arrived on time to our engagement photos and wedding day. She directed us with ease, managed our families smoothly, and finally, had our photos ready a mere month after our wedding. She not only sent them digitally, but also mailed us a very cute flash drive.
I was so happy with Violet's work that I've recommended her to a number of friends. I can't imagine having anyone else photograph one of the most important days of my life. Thank you, Violet!

nly choice! She is very professional, fun, polite, and such an artist. It all comes very naturally to her. The style for my wedding and her artistic eye completed my wedding day - I will cherish these photos forever! Oh, and a big shot-out to her second-shooter, Cate, that day - she was amazing as well! Thank you, Violet and Cate!

and reliable from beginning to finish! Violet carefully guided us to schedule our engagement shoot and was very flexible to reschedule dates as needed to get exactly the style of photos we were looking for! We had Violet shoot our engagement session, an in-home session, and our wedding day...and I already can't wait to come up with another reason to hire her to shoot us again! Her photography skills are impeccable! She is truly an artist! When we received our digital album, we were floored. I loved every single photo and they were all so incredibly different! She is a sweetheart and I would recommend her again and again and again! We love you Violet!!!
