Her team handled install and tear down and especially on mother's day weekend, I was so grateful to have found an event-based service. She was so patient with me, my ideas and changes, and I honestly looked to her for advice on navigating being positive and continuing forward throughout the pandemic. She was so thoughtful-I just received an ornament containing flowers from my bouquet and the ribbon from it as well, after I accidentally left it at our venue the night of our wedding. I will cherish that gift and what she did for me for the rest of my life. You gotta check her out!!

who is picky and demanding while not knowing what to be picky and demanding about was definitely a challenge for Courtney (: Despite this, Courtney patiently and kindly listened to every concern, accommodated any changes to my original vision, and consistently assured me that everything would turn out beautifully (spoiler alert: she was right, it did). It was hard for me to translate everything I pictured in my head, but, somehow, she was able to pluck it from my mind and make it come to life. On the week of the wedding, she sent me pictures, FaceTimed me to ask what florals to include, what combinations I preferred, and helped to add last minute details to the centerpieces to really make them pop. On the day of my wedding, she made little adjustments to my bouquet to make it just right and it was stunning! When the curtains opened to begin my walk down the aisle, I burst into tears because a. I’m getting married but b. the ceremony space was dripping in candlelight just as I had imagined. It set the mood for the entire ceremony and flowed into the reception space where her florals and candle arrangements filled the room with celebration and warmth. Courtney is a wonderful florist but also a wonderful person. I will miss working with her greatly!

She truly listens to a bride's vision and wants swatches of colors to get the perfect color match for her florals. Her floral arrangements WOW'd us! From the bouquets, to the centerpieces, to the garlands, fireplace mantels, and cake decoration…all of her floral designs were beyond our expectations. Her rental products including vases, candles, and gold frames also added to the overall beauty. I appreciated her suggestion to donate some of the flowers to the Indianapolis branch of Random Acts of Flowers, who picked up the floral arrangements from my reception venue the next day and repurposed them into floral bouquets for nursing homes, hospitalized patients, etc. I highly recommend Courtney and Violets are Blue Floral Design!

. Our wedding venue looked gorgeous decked out in the floral pieces she designed. She designed stuff to decorate the arch under which we got married which looked absolutely stunning. Our centerpieces also looked nice. The flowers on top of my cake looked great. I loved my wedding bouquet so much that I'm getting it preserved so I can keep it forever. All in all, I'm so happy with how our flowers turned out -- you should definitely hire Violets are Blue for your wedding day too!

I didn't have a super clear vision for the flowers, just wanted them to be jeweled tone themed, and they were everything I ever dreamed! I really appreciated that. CONS: The wrist corsages were overpriced and wilted quickly, they were brown for photographs. There was very little greenery and no accent floral (even though we did agree to adding it at a later date). The floral inserts for 2 topiaries also wilted quickly and did not include the water tubes as quoted. We weren't aware of this until after the event. These were also overpriced. The bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets were both pretty by themselves, but as a whole they were not cohesive visually. This was disappointing. Also the ribbon on the bridal bouquet ended up brown and stained from sitting in water. The table arrangements were quoted to include ivy. There was very little greenery, and no ivy in any of them. The decoration at the base of the staircase was unimpressive. Greenery was used, but looked skimpy and hastily wrapped around the fabric that was used. This was quoted to include floral, but again, very little was used. This piece was embarrassing to have as the first floral piece that guests saw as they came up the stairs. Even though we specifically asked for babies breath to be used generously, very little was used in any arrangement. We contacted Courtney after the wedding to express our concerns. We were told that we should have looked at everything before she left the venue and informed her about what was incorrect. We definitely had no time to check her work while getting prepared for the wedding. She was expected to do a professional job, use the flowers/techniques that we were invoiced for, and to meet professional florist standards. If we had it to do over again, we would chose someone who had worked with a professional florist, and had taken a professional design course. Her lack of training and overall design finesse were very apparent on the wedding day. I was hopeful, but ended up being very disappointed overall.

Part of my wedding was scheduled to be outside, but due to weather we moved everything inside. Courtney and her team KILLED it with the change of plans. I felt like I walked in to a fairy tale land when I arrived to the venue. The small touches like candles and sprigs of rosemary were exactly what I wanted. Not to mention, nothing was overpriced or unreasonable. I had many people asking after the wedding who my florist was and I was so excited to share with them my experience. Take a consultation meeting with Courtney and you'll see what I mean. She made my day more beautiful than I could event have imagined.

. I really only knew which colors I was interested in. She was able to fill in the rest for me and her results blew me away. I particularly loved the floral curtains she made as a backdrop for my ceremony. I'm still getting compliments on them! She also added some greenery to a mantle behind the head table, and I had no idea it would look as good as it did. Our bouquets were incredible. Given all this, her pricing is very reasonable. I'm pretty sure this girl can do anything, so if there is something you want done, ask her! I would recommend VAB to anyone!
