We used VIP for our wedding transportation (from Portsmouth, NH to York, ME) and they were great. Reasonably priced, prompt in communications, and everything ran smoothly the day of. Our guests also specifically mentioned how friendly the bus drivers were!
We rented a large bus to transport people from our hotel to our wedding venue across Portland and back at the end of the night. VIP set a schedule to ensure everyone arrived on time over the course of multiple trips and executed the plan perfectly. Our driver, Reed (Brother Reed!), was an excellent driver, professional, and actually really fun! He kept our guests loose, was responsive to our needs, and navigated our route expertly.
Highly recommend VIP to anyone looking for charter services in the Portland area!
VIP provided transportation to and from our wedding venue. The staff was very responsive, timely, and professional. Guests had only great things to say about them!
We got a lovely white school bus (extra classy) to transport our out-of-town guests from Portland to our ceremony in Freeport and back to Portland for the reception. The VIP staff were responsive throughout the planning process, and answered all of our last minute questions. On the day of, they were helpful and professional.
Horrible customer service - don't use this company. We hired VIP to transport our guests to and from our wedding venue in Boothbay Harbor. The bus we ordered was for up to 48 people, which was perfect considering the number of guests we had. On the day of the wedding the bus was late and only 8 of 48 guests ended up getting on the bus. The others ended up driving, which was exactly what we didn't want to happen and the reason we contracted a bus in the first place.
When I found out about this through my guests, I immediately called the company to figure out what had happened and to see if I could get some sort of refund or resolution. I spoke with Maureen and it took her a number of days to get back to me - I had to follow up twice. She told me that she had looked up the records and the bus was "only 10 minutes late" due to traffic and therefore, they couldn't do anything about it, or offer any sort of refund. . Mind you, I got this response back in an EMAIL after normal business hours on a Friday night. How unprofessional. I wrote back explaining to them that 1. I never received as much as a phone call from the company or bus driver saying that he/she would be late. If I had I could've told my guests to wait a little longer before finding other means of transportation. 10 minutes (my guests said it was more like 15mins) may not seem like a big deal to them, but when time is ticking and you have someplace to be and there is no sign of a bus showing up, people are not just going to hang around. 2. Being late is plain unacceptable. I could see if there was a freak accident on the highway or something, but when they described the "traffic" they got stuck I realized they were talking about normal weekend traffic going over the bridge from Wicasset into Boothbay. 3. It was extremely unprofessional that I was not given a call back within normal business hours before the weekend to discuss the issue in person.
They would not budge at all on a refund and they never sincerely apologized for the issue. I would have even taken a partial refund, but no, they couldn't even do that for me. I spent $850 to transport 8 people in a bus big enough to fit 48 guests and they couldn't get out of their own way to see how that's a problem. Stay away from this company. They do not care about the people they serve.
VIP provided transportation for the wedding party and for all guests to and from our wedding location 20 miles north of Portland to Portland before and after the wedding. We used a small 14-passenger bus for the wedding party, and then rented two schoolbuses for general guest transport. Their drivers were professional, knew the routes and accomodating of any requests. Highly recommended.
