Virginia’s Daughter Bridal Boutique is a wedding dress shop located in North Suffolk, VA. Situated just off of Interstate 664 on Route 17, this boutique is a chic and comfortable salon in which to find your dream gown. Each appointment lasts one and a half hours, during which your personal stylist will work with you to understand your aesthetic and tastes. These professionals will offer their expert knowledge of fit, fabric, and color while always staying true to your vision and budget. Owner Allison Alderman dreamed of starting her own wedding dress studio since she graduated with a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Old Dominion University. After planning her own wedding in 2016, she became even more determined to turn this wish into a reality. Named after her mother Virginia, this brick and mortar is the result of Allison’s hard work and dedication. She is passionate about hearing your love story and helping you look and feel beautiful and confident as you marry the love of your life. Virginia’s Daughter Bridal Boutique houses a collection of gowns from Rebecca Ingram, Morilee, Watters, and Moonlight. Sample sizes range from zero to 14, and actual sizes go up to 32. Appointments are recommended, as this allows your stylist to give you the most attentive service possible. During this session, you can try on veils, shoes, lingerie, and other accessories. Once you’ve said yes to the dress, you and your guests will even be treated to complimentary bubbly to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime moment.

ick the right dress. I had my heart set on 2 different dresses and Virginia took note to contact me of any possible changes in availability of my dresses. Fast forward a few months, I continued to search for my dress, but all I could think about was the one at Virginia's Daughter. They were able to get me in super last minute during one of their big sales to try on the dress again and I was able to say YES! I am very excited to see them again once my dress comes in!

on the outside sign welcoming me to my appointment. Alison was quick to put me at ease as I apologized several times for my tardiness. She told me to take a breath, I was there, and we were going to have a fun time and not be rushed. She showed me and my sister to our couch and there were two glasses of water for us. Alison had already picked out the dresses I marked as my favorites online. They had an amazing selection of dresses and no shortage of plus size dresses to chose from. When I tried on my third dress, I felt my skin warming up and had that "this is it" feeling. Virginia and Alison put me in a tiara and veil and when I responded that I was saying yes to the dress, I was enveloped in flower petals, cheers of celebration, and received a glass of champagne for me and my sister. As they completed my order on the computer, they allowed me to stay in the dress to walk around, sit down, and enjoy feeling like a bride. I walked out with a small goodie bag and a new glow about me that I had just found the dress of my dreams in such a wonderful experience. Thank you Alison and Virginia! I'm so glad you and your boutique exist!

n was very slim. While they are “size inclusive” they are actually only size inclusive on a section of dresses. I’m a mid-size bride. I can range from 10-14, depending on the dress but I wasn’t able to try on 6 dresses. I felt so ashamed and embarrassed because of that. At one point I almost got up and left but I took a deep breathe thanks to my bridal party. I thought it should be standard to have the same dress in 2 different sizes.

We are so sorry you did not find what you were looking for at our shop. We try very hard to have a variety of sample gowns that are inclusive of all body shapes and sizes. We have very few brides that fit exactly into the dress they say yes to....

For future brides reading this review we want to make sure they know we have a VERY inclusive size run. At the moment we have these samples on hand in sizes Size 8 and below- 5 dresses Size 10- 19 dresses Size 12- 22 dresses Size 14- 18 dresses Size 16- 10 dresses Size 18- 9 dresses Size 20 and up - 14 dresses Within these sizes we have 33 Aline gowns, 23 Ballgowns, 21 sheath gowns, and 20 mermaid/fit and flare. VARIETY IS THERE! Plus we would be ordering your correct size regardless of how the sample fits! Lea, you were very specific about what you wanted, "long sleeve and off the shoulder, with a removable skirt." While we don't have a dress that is exactly that, you were able to try on as many other options as you'd liked. Also, new gowns arrive every month!! Please keep an eye on our Lookbook to see if we can hit closer to the mark!
