We had our wedding reception at the Visitation Hotel, and "perfection" is an understatement. It was a stunning, incredibly elegant evening that was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more.
The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration, but what truly sets the Visitation Hotel apart is its outstanding team. The staff was incredibly attentive, professional, and seamless in their execution, making sure every single detail was taken care of. We cannot thank Mazie enough for all of her incredible help. From start to finish, she went above and beyond to make the planning process stress-free and ensured our vision came to life flawlessly.
On top of the beautiful setting and service, the food was absolutely impeccable. The hotel's restaurant, Wye Oak Tavern, catered the dinner, and our guests are still raving about it—many have told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had!

We got married in early November at The Visitation Hotel, which served as the perfect place for a wedding reception and wedding weekend "base camp" for guests. The central downtown Frederick location was unbeatable – highly walkable to the ceremony church, restaurants, bars, and shop. Having accommodations, catering, and the bar service all in one place was incredibly convenient.
The staff was exceptional. Everyone was attentive, proactive, and genuinely kind. Mazie, our venue lead, organized a wonderful menu tasting, checked in throughout the big day, and during cocktail hour the service team made sure we got to taste everything as the guests of honor – such a thoughtful touch!
The team was also wonderfully collaborative with our vendors, making planning seamless. The food and service were outstanding, and our guests are still raving about the celebration.
We wholeheartedly recommend The Visitation Hotel to anyone getting married in Frederick.
