Rhonda was our coordinator for the Visitor Center and she was a dream to work with! She made our tasting fun and casual, listened and answered our endless questions, and was a calming presence during planning and the wedding day. Rhonda set aside a little area in a back room during the cocktail hour where just my new husband and I could breathe for a moment, and even brought us drinks and appetizers. The Trolley Room was beautiful and spacious - I recommend adding on the drapery to the ceiling. It really adds to the intimate, romantic vibe.
If you can request a coordinator, ask for Rhonda! She will make everything smooth and seamless!
Beautiful Venue. The staff was amazing. I loved everything about our wedding reception at the Visitor Center.
The visitor center was so wonderful for our perfect day. Forest Park holds special significance in my husband and I's relationship, so it spoke to us in a special way when we visited. Try and visit when there is an upcoming wedding! We were able to envision our day better when there were tables set up with tablecloths and such. Rhonda was our liaison from Catering St. Louis, and she was wonderful! She was always just an email or call away to answer any question we may have. Because the Trolley Room is such a beautiful blank canvas, you can add your own unique style to the space with different linens, flowers, etc. The only downside to this space is that every decoration rental has to be ordered through Catering St. Louis, so there is a slight uncharge on everything you add ( such as linens, lighting, farmhouse tables, etc). We were also slightly disappointed with the outcome of our food selections on the actual wedding day. When we selected our meal at our private taste-tasting it was INCREDIBLE, probably the best fish we'd ever had, but on the day of it wasn't nearly as good. All of our guests thought it was wonderful though, so take that for what it's worth! Overall, I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for an intimate place to hold their wedding reception. Being in the heart of Forest Park made it so easy for the bridal party to sneak away for pictures as well!
Visitor Center in Forest Park was absolutely the perfect location for our wedding reception. They do an amazing job of transforming the venue into something magical. Our guests were very complimentary of the food prepared by Catering St. Louis!
This venue and Catering St. Louis were SO easy to work with! They made coordinating our big day such a breeze. Our planner, Joanna, was so helpful, fun, and helped make our wedding absolutely perfect. I can't recommend enough!
This venue was absolutely perfect for our wedding! Everything was perfect - The food, the service, the atmosphere! Everyone at St. Louis Catering was an amazing to work with you!! We cannot recommend them enough!!
Dear Alaynne,
I wanted to thank you and the staff at Catering St. Louis for all of your hard work during the planning stage and during our reception at the Forest Park Visitor Center! You were so responsive to all of our questions leading up to our wedding day, and I had total confidence in you being in charge of our wedding reception. Our venue looked more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. I was speechless! I have been told repeatedly that it was one of the most beautiful weddings our guests have ever been to. Your staff was so attentive and polite the entire night. The food was the best I have ever had at a wedding. We received so many compliments about the staff, venue, and food. It was the perfect night and I am so happy we trusted Catering St. Louis with our special day. It was a dream come true. Thank you again Alaynne and all of the Catering St. Louis staff!

The Trolley Room in the Visitor's Center is the perfect combination of rustic and chic! It can be dressed up for an elegant affair or a bit more casual for a bohemian look. There are a number of add-ons that can enhance the ambiance, from fabric draping to uplighting -- Just ask what options are available to complete your vision.
The team at Catering St. Louis (the exclusive caterer for the venue) really made sure everything was perfect for my reception. Everything was set up exactly as we talked about, and they were extremely accommodating when it came to my guests with dietary restrictions. I had a number of guests tell me after the fact that the wait staff was kind, attentive, and professional. We also had guests say the meal was one of the best they'd ever had at a wedding.
Highly recommend!
I first came across the Visitor's Center about 10 years ago when helping my sister look for wedding venues. When it was my turn to start the wedding planning process, it remained at the top of my list.
Finding a venue in Forest Park for a St. Louis wedding is truly special. Since our wedding was planned for August, we knew indoors was probably a must to avoid the heat & humidity :) Thus, the Trolley Room inside the Visitor's Center at Forest Park was an obvious choice.
We just loved the natural organic feeling of the Trolley Room itself with the wooden beams & twinkle lights. And, the fact that the entire building is reserved for the evening just for you is truly special.
Since the Visitor's Center is catered by Catering St. Louis, we also had the privilege of working with a part-time wedding planner - Alaynne. Being an out of town bride has its challenges and Alaynne put us all at ease during the wedding prep and the day of. I couldn't have asked for a better partner.
I would definitely recommend the Visitor's Center & Catering St. Louis - couldn't have been happier with the choice!
EVERYTHING about the Trolley Room was EXCELLENT. Joanna, the wedding planner, all of the staff were courteous and very helpful. The meal was " the best meal we have ever had at a wedding reception" We heard this from many of our guests. Decorations, bar staff, appetizers were everything that we wanted. My daughter and her husband said " We got the wedding of our dreams!"
I chose to have my reception at the Visitor's Center after doing a walk-through there. For brides living in St. Louis who are familiar with the space, it has a unique, rustic vibe that is difficult to find in the city. I knew that the space would be perfect for my now husband and me.
On top of a beautiful venue, I cannot say enough about the event staff - from the chef, to the servers, to the bartenders...I have no complaints! It goes without saying the food (we did a cocktail hour and seated dinner) were outstanding! They were accomodating for special meals requests as well. I spoke with the guests who got vegetarian meals after the event and they had good things to say.
The biggest kudos goes to our event coordinator, Joanna. She was a treat from the food tasting moving forward - and such a great help! Prior to our event she spoke with all of the vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page. Most importantly, I was completely hands off on the day of the wedding. She got the place set up exactly the way I envisioned it. She was helpful with a few last-minute guests issues also (bound to happen). During the reception she gave all the prompts for cake-cutting, speeches, dances and the bouquet toss (needless to say I was all over the place so that was AMAZING) Honestly, we couldn't have asked for more - it was the perfect day! I highly recommend the Visitor's Center and Catering St. Louis.
I loved having the reception at the Visitor Center. The atmosphere was beautiful and the way they have the bar set up in the lobby is neat- so that you can use the outside patio too. Plus Catering St. Louis's food is amazing.
My daughter's dream wedding was held here in May 2012 and it was a beautiful evening! The ceremony was held within the Trolley Room, with soft white "pipe-and-drape" to define the ceremony from the reception. It was an added expense but totally worth it! The FPVC sparkles in the evening-arched windows overlooking the park, sparkling lights in the trees, candles in the windows, twinkling lights overhead. The designated caterer is Catering St. Louis-the staff was wonderful and the food was excellent. We had 150 guests with the ceremony and seated dinner which was perfect. We would highly recommend the Forest Park Visitors Center!
The visitor's center was a fantastic place to have my reception. It was beautiful, and the food was excellent. St. Louis Catering is expensive but worth every penny.
This venue had everything we wanted - a separate area for cocktail hour, exclusive use of the entire facility, outdoor cocktails, lounge, and a great dining room. We wanted something more "raw" because we did plan to completely customize the space - they allowed us a lot of freedoms and the room turned out exquisite. The Catering St Louis employees were exceptional with their assistance in the entire process and as a wedding planner, I will certainly use these people again when possible for my clients. The food was fantastic and again was customized to our dietary restrictions as well as to my husband's culture. We wouldn't do it any differently if we did it again.
Huge open space with tall windows all around and 40' ceiling that was illuminated by LED twinkle lights in the beams of the ceiling. No decorations necessary!;It is an exclusive caterer contract. Caterer was great good service well priced great staff. But in the end we were disappointed by the food and I only had 129 people at my wedding.
