Vivian Sampson Makeup

Vivian is the best makeup artist you'll find. This is my second time having her do my makeup. The first as a bridesmaid, the second time as a bride. Vivian really takes her time to make sure your vision is brought to life. My hair and makeup came out great in all my photos and that was due to her attention to detail!

Vivian was absolutely amazing to work with! My makeup looked absolutely stunning and she took the my ideas of what I wanted and made it exceed my expectations! Her and Alexandria did hair and makeup for myself and bridal party for my wedding and all of us were so please with their professionalism, easy going, and fun personalities. They are wonderful at what they do, truly putting the client and needs first. They both truly want your day and looks to be what you imagine and will go above and beyond to make it happen. Vivian’s communication, punctuality, and experience are unmatched and I will be certainly using her again for any of my makeup/hair needs in the future!

Vivian was AMAZING! She was great before I even had the pleasure of meeting her. She was so fast and clear with communication. She arrived promptly and completed all makeup for my bridesmaids, mothers, and myself per our scheduled timeline. She is a true artist. She knew all the right colors that went with my skin tone and made it look flawless. I felt like a "glam" version of my normal self which made me feel so comfortable on my big day. Her partner, Ana, was equally great. Ana took care of our hair for the big day. She worked off of our pinterest preferences and adjusted as needed. She kept our women on time and feeling gorgeous. I cannot recommend Vivian enough to those looking for a makeup artist on their big day. Vivian and her team will take the best care of you and make you feel great!

Vivian was wonderful to work with and is excellent at what she does. She did my bridal hair and makeup, and my officiant’s makeup. I wanted a relatively natural look with soft waves, and Vivian absolutely nailed it at both my trial and on my wedding day. My hair and makeup and my officiant’s makeup held up amazingly well throughout the entire wedding day, and Vivian gave us little kits for touch-ups if needed. If you’re looking for a great hair and makeup artist, look no further!

I reached out to Vivian after my original HMU vendor cancelled on me two weeks before my wedding. Luckily, she was available! Vivian did makeup and Ana did hair, and everyone turned out amazing! I am so grateful for them and their work. I didn't have time to do a trial run, so Vivian made sure to add extra time for me, which was great! My only qualm was that they went an hour longer than we needed to, pushing back my entire schedule and making us an hour late for everything. She insisted we would be fine and make up time, but sadly we did not. So, I would just make sure you give yourself some buffer time!

My wife and I eloped in Big Sur, Monterey in December of 2022. Vivian was amazing from the initial phone consult months before our date and absolutely wonderful throughout! She and Alex arrived well before sunrise on the day of to start our glam and were so kind and confident and truly made us feel special! We felt so comfortable with them the entire time! Vivian is phenomenal at her skill and we could not have dreamed up a better hair and makeup artist! 1000% recommend! :)

Vivian is absolutely incredible! I booked Vivian for my May 2022 wedding and it was one of the best and easiest decisions I made for my wedding. Vivian and her team worked on me and 8 other women (6 bridesmaids + my mom + my MIL) on my wedding day and got us all done within 6.5 hours! She was very meticulous and I didn't feel rushed at all. Vivian has a wonderful personality, she listens, and she cares about her clients. You have to book Vivian for your wedding! Vivian created a schedule for all 9 of us 2 weeks before my wedding so we knew ahead of time who was going when, and she asked for examples of what each of my girls wanted ahead of time as well. She slotted us in at different times for hair and makeup, did touchups on everyone, and made easygoing conversation throughout to keep my nerves at bay. She is extremely well-organized and professional. She achieved the soft/natural glam look I wanted, worked foundation mixing magic to match my skin tone, and made me a little touch-up kit for use later at the reception. Then for my hair, she and her team were great at getting my extensions in (I brought them with me). I asked for a half-up, half-down hairstyle with lots of curls and it was STUNNING. My hairstyle stayed well throughout the next day. You'll love Vivian and her style. You can't go wrong with her! :) I also did my hair/makeup trial with Vivian 2 months before my wedding for my bridal shower and she was extremely accommodating and professional then as well. We had my hair parted one way and I didn't like it as much so we knew we'd part it a different way for my wedding. She also gave me the names of the products I liked so I could get backup ones in case I needed it on my wedding day. She took the time to ask me questions about my style preferences and what makeup I typically put on and I appreciated that personal touch. :)

Vivian was so great to work with! She really listened to me when I told her how I wanted to look on my wedding day and she nailed it. I had a great experience with her during the trial and really enjoyed working with her and Alexandria (hair stylist) on the day of. They stuck pretty close to the timeline we set up so we could start our day on time. She even came to the venue before the ceremony to do touch-ups since most of the bridal party photos took place before the wedding. Definitely would recommend!

Vivian and her crew made our whole bridal party look fabulous. She was able to achieve the look I wanted during the trial and even bought a new lip color that I loved after sending me some options. I especially loved that she was able to make my makeup look so flawless while still not feeling like I didn’t look like myself. She was able to find artists for hair and makeup for 13 women and managed around schedules without any hiccups when some of my bridesmaids were late. My makeup looked perfect through the end of the night and she made the whole experience so enjoyable. Vivian goes above and beyond for her brides and I would recommend her to all!

Vivian is one of the best in the Bay Area hands down! I’ve had the pleasure to work besides her at a wedding, and just knew she was the right one when my time came. I’m not a girl who tends to really do makeup myself, but Vivian was able to make my makeup look absolutely perfect on my big day without me feeling/looking like someone else. My whole bridal party looked amazing as well. I would 1000% hire Vivian again for any event that I wanted to feel absolutely beautiful for.

Vivian (and her often time helper Alex) did my hair and makeup for my wedding, as well as for my four bridesmaids and my grandmother (my grandmother requested hair service at the last minute and these ladies were gracefully able to squeeze her in!). I was happy with how responsive and transparent she was throughout the process, and her prices are very reasonable for the quality of her work. My trial was lovely!! we made decisions about the day of, she was so responsive to my feedback, and on the day of my wedding, I felt absolutely gorgeous. Both Vivian and Alex were friendly and professional throughout the day, it was a joy to have them! I will absolutely recommend Vivian in the future.

I hired Vivian for my hair and make-up services (bride) and she also did HMU for my bridesmaids, mother and mother in-law. I don't wear a lot of make up so I wanted a natural glam look for my wedding day and Vivian did a GREAT job. She understood what I wanted, my hesitations and made me comfortable throughout the process. I felt beautiful on my wedding day and still felt like myself! Vivian is super friendly, easy-going, professional, and timely. I recommend Vivian to any bride who is looking for a more natural look!

Vivian was amazing from start to finish. She really made me feel heard and special. Anything and everything I wanted she made possible for my wedding! She was even flexible enough to allow me to add some last minute people to hair and makeup. She worked tirelessly on my wedding day for 5 hours straight with a huge smile on her face. Vivian was amazing! A total professional. She gave me the exact bridal look I was hoping for, and my sister and mom looked fab too! I didn’t have time for a makeup/hair trial, so I was nervous going into the big day, but my hair and makeup turned out perfect. I cannot recommend Vivian enough!!!

I highly recommend Glam by Vivian for wedding/event hair and makeup! Vivian did the makeup for our group of 5 ladies plus me as the bride, and brought Alexandria to do our hair. Both did a fantastic job! Our makeup looked dewy and natural and gorgeous and stayed on all night despite a very hot day and a lot of dancing. Vivian understood exactly what I wanted and delivered a gorgeous look. Alexandria listened to what I wanted for my hair and delivered, and it stayed up really well all night. They both came to our hotel at 7 AM to get started and were lovely to talk to and so friendly. They also did a trial for me which was super helpful and I highly recommend doing one to see what adjustments need to be made with the makeup for your skin type, how well the hairdo holds, etc.

Vivian was probably one of the most responsive professionals out there. She's very good with texting and I was able to speak with her on the phone, not knowing how many people will need their makeup/hair done. Vivian gave me plenty of time to figure that out since the people were out of the country coming to my wedding. I had scheduled Vivian for 2 events. Close by to the events, she contacted me she had a family emergency and was unable to help out the 2nd event. She was able to find another artist last minute! I am very pleased with everything and will definitely recommend her!

Vivan and her team did an outstanding job on myself, my 7 bridesmaids, and the flower girl. I live in Switzerland now so I, unfortunately, was not able to do a trial but trusted Vivian based on her phenomenal reviews and Instagram. Day of the wedding they arrived on time, set up quickly, and were all so wonderful to talk to while getting our hair and makeup done. My bridesmaids and I were all very impressed. I wanted a “natural glam” look and Vivian accomplished it spot on and then some. I also appreciated her advice in straying away from the fake eyelashes I had brought-- hers were much better and more natural. Highly recommend.

Vivian is phenomenal. Not only is she a wonderful human being, she was timely, kind, and AMAZING. Her skills are incredible and serve different ages, complexions, hair types, etc. well One of my family members, for example, hates makeup. She will complain about anything, and was thrilled with the light makeup look she did for her. It looked natural and stunning (“and 20 years younger”). My (bridal) makeup and hair was phenomenal - my stick straight hair normally cannot hold anything, but Vivian worked her beautiful Magic. She had both vision (in terms of how to style it, as I had none) and fantastic execution. My makeup stayed put all night, too, and made me feel beautiful and confident - and looked exactly how I wanted it to (but better). I cannot recommend her more highly and cannot wait to work with her again for any event.

From the start, Vivian was knowledgeable, professional, and super sweet! We did a Mother/Bride trial session and it was super helpful in determining my wedding day look. On the day of the wedding, Vivian and Hairstylist Ana were a machine! They got all 4 bridesmaids, both Moms, and myself ready with time to spare! Throughout the trial and planning process, I leaned on Vivian with a ton of questions and she was so helpful and provided great insight!

Vivian is an absolute superstar!! She was our planner’s first recommendation for wedding hair/makeup, and it’s easy to see why. Not only did she do a beautiful job with the makeup for me, my mom, and my bridesmaids, but she was highly responsive, prompt, inclusive, easy to talk to, and she stepped up to solve a crisis at the last minute. I had initially hired Vivian for makeup only and someone else for hair. Then, my hair stylist came down with COVID 6 days before the wedding. Vivian managed to find an amazing stylist (Ana) to take her place and adjusted the schedule without too much disruption — all before I even really had time to stress out about it. I only wish I had hired Vivian for everything from the start, but I will be forever grateful to her for ho she handled everything and took care of me on my wedding day. I highly, highly recommend her for yours!!

Vivian and her team were absolutely incredible! They arrived on time, set up quickly, and were able to start hair and makeup a bit early. They had us done right on time for our first look. They were very accommodating and willing to change the schedule to account for people who showed up late or who were taking longer than expected. They even managed to fit my flower girl in at the last minute for some quick curls. Throughout the entire process Vivian responded quickly and professionally to all emails and texts which I really appreciated. She travelled to my location for both the trial and day of which was really helpful. Her prices are also very reasonable for the fantastic service! I couldn't be happier with her and her team. :)

Vivian was wonderful - punctual (even at 3:30am!) and professional. She was kind, great to talk to, and I was so happy with how she did my makeup and styled my hair. I wanted to feel glamorous in a natural way and Vivian achieved that — I definitely recommend her services and would certainly use her again!

Vivian was such an amazing artist to work with! She created a stunning look for my wedding that lasted all night! I got so many comments on the beautiful makeup throughout the day. She also was so flexible and responsive to my friends and family's requests and was a joy to have as a part of my wedding day. Vivian & her team did such a great job! My hair & makeup looked great, and held up all night even after crying multiple times. It was a windy day too so Vivian had her team secure my veil so well, it took my bridesmaids 10 minutes to get it off. Also no one was on time in my bridal party, but Vivian was on time, adaptable & made sure everyone was done on time. On top of that, their rates are very affordable especially for being located in the Bay Area. Book her! You won’t regret it.

Vivian is amazing! She can take all yours ideas and make them true. I believe that I’m not the regular client because I don’t have enough experience with makeup and style but Vivian took the time to explain her proposal and have an incredible work. She’s very organized, responsible and prepared to offer an excellent service.

Vivian was an absolute LIFE SAVER!!! My niece's makeup artist cancelled on her a couple of hrs before her engagement session, I reached out to Vivian via phone and she returned my call shortly after calling her. She made herself available to make the 30 minute drive to my niece's house and do her makeup for her engagement pictures and she did an amazing job! My niece looked absolutely beautiful, Vivian saved the day! As you can imagine, my niece was stressing out and trying to wrap her head around not having her makeup done for her pictures, not something anyone should be dealing with on such an important day for a bride to be but Vivian just wiped all that stress away! Vivian was amazing. When she finished my makeup, I couldn’t recognize myself because I was so pretty, she was great about doing different styles (I wanted a natural glow up while my sister wanted a Smokey eye/glam look). She was willing to travel, super responsive to messages and made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. She even touched up my hair after my hair person had to leave early for a family emergency. 10/10 recommend.

I got married on October 22, 2021! Vivian, along with her assistant, Alexandria, were absolutely amazing! I loved my bridal make up. I was very specific on the look I wanted and Vivian nailed it! Vivian and Alexandria also did my mother's, my mother-in-law's, and my five bridesmaids' make up. They were extremely time efficient and everyone loved the way their make up turned out! Vivian is very sweet and personable! I am so grateful I had such a talented make up artist for my big day! 10/10 recommend her services!!

As the mother of the bride, I could not have been happier with our makeup artists! Vivian’s team was punctual and professional! And she comes well-prepared - so many ‘suitcases’ of make up and products!! She transformed the mothers into goddesses and the brides maids into queens! Vivian did a great job! I’ve had a lot of breakouts from mask wearing and she was able to cover that up and give me a natural glam look for my wedding. She also has a great system for her make up using application devises that are disposable. She checked in about different options and explained what she was doing which was helpful for me since I rarely wear make up. I’m really glad Vivian was available for my wedding. She made me feel really comfortable and it was really enjoyable getting my make up done. The photos looked great and I got so many compliments on my makeup.

Vivian was absolutely incredible! Let me start off by saying I’ve never liked how anyone has done my makeup. I’m incredibly picky and really wanted to look like myself and not have Cakey foundation-which can be a challenge with my textured skin. I was not happy with my makeup trial with the first makeup artist 1 month before the wedding and was about to give up and do my own makeup. I am so lucky I found Vivian! She came over to my place for the makeup trial and was super prepared, punctual and attentive! She was so sweet and listened to my millions of requests of what I wanted and did not want. She was very patient and open to feedback if there was anything I wanted her to fix. All my bridesmaids loved her and some decided to get their makeup done after seeing how talented she was. She is incredibly thoughtful and gave us little kits the day of the wedding if we needed to touch up our makeup. My photos came out so beautiful! I can’t recommend her more highly!
