Mat is THE BEST! He filmed our wedding in January and was so great to work with. We had our initial meeting a little over a year from our big day, and instantly felt at ease and comfortable with him. About a month from our big day we had another call where we discussed our vision for the day. He was so great to work with on the actual day, easy going and professional. We were so lucky to have Mat shoot our wedding day. From hanging out with us all day while getting ready, to live streaming our ceremony for those who could not be with us on the day, to closing down the dance floor with us, we were simply blown away at the amount of footage he was able to capture. If you are wondering if you need a videographer for your wedding you absolutely do and I would highly recommend Mat. I was initially debating booking a videographer and my mom insisted I book one and I could not be happier that I did! Mat Grimes at Vivid Plus Media went above and beyond for our wedding in Chicago. His portfolio, and the experience we saw first hand at my sisters' wedding, made it a no brainer to hire him for our wedding video. Although he lives in Ohio, he didn't hesitate to accept a job in Chicago, and, more-so, he was thrilled to adventure to a new city. Not only did he shoot our wedding, but he also filmed our rehearsal dinner venue, cocktail hour and speeches -- all while obtaining night time drone footage of the Chicago River, and Merchandise Mart (where our dinner took place). Seeing that, I couldn't believe how one man could be in so many places at once, and not miss a single thing. During wedding day, Mat was timely, engaged but also very much behind the scenes. He never forced the footage, but somehow crafted the shots to turn out amazing. I only remember him twice during the day, asking us to do something specific for the video -- and both instances look outstanding on film! He was quick to take our style and turn the video into a soft dj music video masterpiece when we said, our first dance song is by "Kygo". The song he chose for the preview/highlight videos, and the way he pieced together the footage, made it feel exactly like us. We received the preview video no less than 3 or 4 days after the wedding, and the highlight video 5-7 days after the wedding. It was the perfect way to relieve such a phenomenal day, without needing to wait months. And on top of that, he plans to deliver all the footage and full video within 3-4 weeks of the wedding. Such service, professionalism and expertise is what you should expect when hiring Mat & Vivid Plus Media. And pure kindness. Mat hung around through the after party because he was "having so much fun, and wanted to experience more of Chicago". It was a pleasure to have him a part of our day.

BOOK IMMEDIATELY! For any couple that has had to scale down their wedding day, please book Matt for the streaming service. I have a large extended family and wanted to keep everyone safe; therefore, we did a minimony with immediate family and the bridal party, but streamed the ceremony and reception (first dance, father of the bride toast, etc.) so that our loved ones could watch from afar and remain safe. We received so many positive comments regarding the feature along with shock of how great the quality was. Matt offers multiple angels throughout the ceremony, he even caught me and my husband winking at each other during the ceremony (we had a number of texts regarding it). Overall the streaming service was impeccable! Matt also created two videos for us: 1. A highlight video (roughly 6 minutes long) and 2. A full feature film (45 minutes long with the full ceremony/dances/and toasts). He is one incredibly talented videographer. PLUS he had the highlight video to us within a week of the wedding so we could continue to relive the day over and over. I have watched this over and over and it helped me capture the day fully because it does go way so fast there are so many little things you don't remember. On our wedding day Mat managed to capture all of the special moments while not being front and center. Hiring Mat to be our videographer was one of the best decisions that we made. Our original goal was to have a video so we could show grandparents who were unable to travel to the wedding. We didn't realize how much the video footage that we received would mean to us and our families. Mat is great and very easy to work with. Booking Mat as our videographer was one of the first choices my husband and I made before our wedding, and we never regretted it! Mat's work is amazing. I had previously attended a wedding that he had filmed, and when I watched the footage, his portrayal of the day captured all of the emotion and unique aspects beautifully. My mom has always told me that the photographer and videographer are the most important aspects of a wedding as these will be the memories you can keep forever, and we knew we could trust that Matt would capture the day perfectly. During the planning process, I appreciated the versatility of options, and he was extremely prompt and helpful. On the day of our wedding, he was always professional and positive, capturing all the moments that we would never want to forget. He worked well with our photographer and was always willing to help out whether it meant holding the bouquet during a shot or offering a fan to help us cool off in the June heat! We received our highlight video within a week of the wedding, and I still remember watching it with my husband on our honeymoon and tearing up as we relived it. My husband and I hired Mat as our videographer for our 12/22 wedding. He was phenomenal! He was so great to work with and we didn't have to worry about a thing because we knew he knew what he was doing 100%! We just got our highlight film back and can't stop watching it. It's absolutely perfect. We can't to get our wedding film back and see all the beautiful work he put together! The one thing I think a person should definitely splurge on for their wedding is a videographer. So if you do, hire Mat for your big day, he's wonderful!

Everyone needs to hire Mat for their wedding! He will perfectly capture your day, all the little and big things, in the same tone as your wedding. I could not recommend him more. He made our highlight reel within 5 days over the holiday and I couldn't be more thankful that he captured our day. This review is long overdue! Matt did a phenomenal job capturing our wedding last September. He was very professional throughout the entire day and was certainly never "in the way." He caught so many sweet moments on film as well as the many details in our reception. His turnaround time was phenomenal - we received the highlight film while we were still on our honeymoon. We watched the video over and over on our phone screens and were just so excited to be able to relive that special day. The video itself was flawless with seamless transitions from shot to shot. I absolutely loved the drone footage as well. I would 100% recommend Matt and we cannot thank him enough for taking such great care in producing our wedding video.

Mat is amazing!! We are so thankful that we had him with us on our big day, because he captured it beautifully. Half the time, we didn't even realize that he was there, which is almost perfect because he was able to capture authentic moments without interrupting. He had our preview video to us so quickly after the wedding. This doesn't seem like a big deal, but once the wedding was over, I was dying to relive it! And then a few days into our honeymoon, we received the preview video and we couldn't stop watching it. Not shortly after we returned home, we got the entire wedding video, including all of the extra footage! And everything was incredible. Mat captured the emotion of each moment, and created the most perfect wedding video for us. We stayed up watching (and re-watching it) until 3 AM on the night it came in the mail! And as if he didn't do enough for us, Mat offered to help us create a still image from our video, when our photos weren't going to be in on time for Christmas cards. Mat was so easy to work with, and produced a video that we will cherish for the rest of our lives! We can't recommend Mat highly enough!

Mat did an amazing job with our wedding! He’s there for you when you need him to toss your veil to make you look windblown and glamorous working with the photographer to capture the perfect moment and also at times unnoticeable when you’re surrounded by friends and family and you just want to enjoy your big day. After watching the highlight video, my mother fest up that she was hesitant about spending the money (on a videographer, because everything adds up), but after she saw this video she was thrilled with how it turned out and so happy that we were able to capture every beautiful moment. The highlight video just speaks volumes over a picture and we are so happy we chose to do this with Vivid Plus!

We loved the quality of our highlight film. He was the hardest worker on the day of our wedding, showed up early and made sure to capture every special moment. Seriously just the highlight film is worth what we payed him, but of course we can't wait to see the whole video. His editing and music choice was on point as well. 10/10 amazing company and very professional!!

We are extremely satisfied and happy with Vivid Plus Media filming our wedding day!! As we began wedding planning, my husband was hesitant to hire a videographer because he didn't want someone constantly in our face or moving all around us. This was NOT the case with Matt. We honestly never noticed he was there and he somehow managed to capture so many precious moments and details from our wedding day. My wedding was the greatest day of my life and I would do anything to relive the day over and over again. Our video is the closest thing to being able to do that and we can't thank Matt enough for providing that to us. After seeing a couple highlight videos that Mat had done for other brides I knew, I immediately emailed him to book him. His work is consistently AMAZING and the quality is top notch. He is so incredibly talented, and he has an eye for catching the details of the day. He truly went above and beyond. At one point our party bus made a quick stop between the church and our photo location, because the groomsmen wanted to grab some drinks to have on the bus, and Mat jumped out of his vehicle and followed them into the store with his camera. He definitely did not need to do that - he could have continued on to the next location or waited in his vehicle for those 3 minutes, but instead he kept filming everything that happened, as insignificant as it may have seemed. And the footage from in the store was so fun to have in our highlight video! I could go on and on with examples like this. But I'll leave it at that and just say that I highly recommend Vivid Plus Media!

Hiring Mat was the best decision my husband and I have ever made (second to getting married)! He is so talented and professional, and you'll forget he is even recording you. We are so glad we booked with Mat & Vivid Plus Media!! I did a lot of research on wedding videographers and I knew I wanted one. When we met with Mat, his style was unique compared to the typical wedding videos we've seen before and we knew his style was what we were looking for. He says it's more "cinematic" than "documentary" and that's what we wanted. We got the package with 2 videographers, something I definitely wanted to be able to get multiple angles (for example, my reaction during the 1st Look and his reaction during the 1st look). Just watch a few of his completed videos on his website or Facebook and it gives you all the feels even though you don't even know the couple in the video! We were SO impressed by the turn around time, our wedding was July 9th and on July 14th we got our Instagram Preview, we got our Highlight Film the next day on July 15th, and he mailed our completed Blu-Rays on August 4th. Super speedy! I was only disappointed by two things-my Groom & I wrote letters to each other and I was with Mat and he had me read my letter aloud. But my husband was with the 2nd videographer and he didn't have him read his aloud, so we only got me reading on video and it looks like I didn't write my husband a heartfelt note! That was disappointing. And I wish we got a drone shot! But other than that, no complaints! We received countless compliments on our video, and it's something we will treasure forever. I can't recommend hiring a videographer enough, and you won't be disappointed with Mat. Knowing I'll be able to show this video to my kids is so cool, and being able to relive the best day ever has been so amazing. There's so much you don't get to see as the Bride & Groom, like seeing what the groomsmen were up to while the Bridesmaids were getting ready, seeing guests dancing the whole time, getting to re-watch your ceremony...and everything goes by SO fast, I can't imagine not having all that on video. Thanks for capturing our day, Mat!

Mat (Vivid Plus Media) was a late addition to our wedding team. We originally didn't intend on hiring a videographer for budget reasons, but after hearing from so many people how much they loved having one, we decided to add one. We absolutely loved Mat from the minute we met him. He came fully prepared to our meeting, bringing a camera and microphone to show us the equipment he uses (which my IT husband loved). We booked him that night and never regretted it. He and his assistant were on time and very unobtrusive. He worked extremely well with our photographer, which was important to us. In the end, he provided us with a preview movie, a 5 minute highlight video, edited Blu-ray of the entire day, and a flash drive with all of the raw footage. All of it. He killed it. I have watched the highlight video at least 100 times and it still chokes me up. He managed to perfectly capture all of the emotions throughout the day. His sound and image editing are second to none, and I cannot praise him enough. We have gotten so many compliments on the highlight film; many from people neither my husband or I have ever met. Adding Mat last minute was one of the smartest things we did, and we will forever treasure what he captured on our special day.
