Emili Waibel
Director of Sales & Catering
Emili brings over a decade of experience in hotels and hospitality, with three of those years dedicated exclusively to weddings. In addition to her extensive background in luxury/upscale hotel weddings, she has owned and operated her own wedding planning business, planning and executing more than 100 weddings between the two.
At voco™ The Shelby Myrtle Beach, Emili guides couples through every step of the planning process, beginning with securing us as the venue and continuing through all hotel & venue-related details. She works closely with each couple to coordinate catering and beverage services, curating customized menus designed to reflect their individual style and vision.
Known for her professionalism, attention to detail, and passion for creating unforgettable experiences, Emili is committed to ensuring every wedding, whether an intimate gathering or a large-scale celebration, is executed seamlessly from start to finish.

uly outstanding. Dave the doorman greeted us with warmth every day and made us feel right at home. Brad and Sharon, the hotel hosts who checked us in and out, were professional, friendly, and welcoming. It was such a pleasure learning that Brad is also from our hometown in Maryland—it made the experience even more personal.
Jay, the head housekeeper, along with Varnette in housekeeping, ensured everything was clean, comfortable, and well cared for throughout our stay. Jose in maintenance was also wonderful and attentive. Every staff member went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy.
The Pebbles restaurant was just as impressive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent—especially from Amanda and Anna. The head chef, David, truly knows his craft, and every meal was prepared with care and flavor.
Because of the exceptional hospitality, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere, my husband and I had an awesome time and are already excited about returning. We highly recommend The Shelby and The Pebbles restaurant to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach.

e and chocolates waiting in our room at check-in, along with a beautifully handwritten anniversary letter—such a thoughtful and personal touch that meant a lot to us. To make our stay even more special, we were upgraded to a suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for an anniversary getaway. Every detail felt intentional, and the hospitality throughout our stay was consistently outstanding.
A huge thank you to Kristina, the Front Desk Manager, as well as Telly, Sharon, and the entire Shelby team. Each of them went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care truly made the difference. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for exceptional service and an unforgettable stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary experience and can’t wait to return! Thank you guys! Amenities like the pool area and on-site dining added convenience without feeling crowded or chaotic. Overall, The Shelby strikes a great balance between relaxed beach vibes and polished comfort. I’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone visiting Myrtle Beach.

ng, and even took the time to tell us about fun things to do in the area. After Brittany checked us in last night, we headed straight to the restaurant on the property.
We thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the vibe. It had a relaxed but upbeat atmosphere, and everything we ordered was delicious.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with absolutely amazing sunset views. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day out.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again!

essing the elevator button before we got there. I can’t recommend this place enough and just a tip if you have waitstaff wait on you always tip! We got there the first day and got to order off the menu in the little restaurant with coupons. After the race we went back to the restaurant to redeem our coupons and found out overnight they changed to complimentary buffet since people weren’t tipping the waitstaff. We got our breakfast on Sat. and Sun. in the restaurant and we left good tips too. Just FYI the food and the service in the restaurant were top notch! The complimentary buffet was so so, so I’m hoping they go back to the restaurant and automatically add an 18% gratuity to the bill it will be well worth it. I promise!!
