Verry professional, versatile staff that can accommodate the needs of a forever love experience that will make a lasting memory. I was impressed with the organization and thought ...
put into each wedding plan. The sound system is so inspirational allowing the perfect choices of correct music. I read one review that was very unfairly negative. This made me see the need to write a correct review to show some are wrong and unfair. I know that some invited cannot follow close planned direction and will create failure with people who get involved having no concept of keeping with original design and artistic genius. I can see where not everyone was pleased with their results. Reading this made me remember how lucky I was to have such support and create something my family will never forget. After having such a great experience with Vows and working with these great people that assisted me putting everything I had dreamed of wonderfully together, I thought it would only be appropriate to write my review to correct the poor review from someone that could ruin someone else from making a decision to have a fantastic Vows experience like we had, and stopping others looking for something very special. Please don't let others who don't follow set and planned wedding procedures by choosing last minute changes during the wedding then blaming Vows. My family, friends, and everyone in my wedding enjoyed the space in the high-end part of downtown Des Moines. The beautiful and romantic setting is perfect for starting a couples major life event. I loved the deep thoughts that was put into the planning and making every desire request work. Des Moines is very lucky to have a wedding venue like this. We were very pleased with our wedding. I can't tell you how much happiness this has brought to my life. The only problem found was reading one review where someone did not follow directions and caused problems for themselves and blamed Vows. I highly recommend this venue. Thank you!
I truly contemplated writing a review but then again, I didn't want other brides, grooms, family, and friends to feel the same way or be treated the same way we were on my best fri...
ends wedding night.
I have known the bride for 17 years and still going. We would all talk about what we wanted, our dress, our food, the colors scheme, the venue, flowers, and our dreams. The bride would light up organizing everything she wanted. She was so excited to marry her best friend, her life partner. The thing was the owner that helped organize her dream after picking this venue, promised to give her the dream. That absolutely didn't happen. The space itself is cute, however, the flowers that were shown were only a quarter of the size that was promised, the doors were locked when we tried to bring stuff down for set up and the fingers were pointed at us like it was our fault, claimed she was never told there were more members of the party than 3, when the truth was that she was told and told they would walk but only 3 would stand as there was not alot of room. She wanted to force the bridal party to do her image until I suggested letting bridesmaids arm link and walk down together. If we had a rehearsal, which was not organized because it "wasn't needed," this issue would have been solved the night before. As we were lined up, she lectured everyone about phones being turned off so it didn't ruin the ceremony, however, a couple minutes into the ceremony a phone rings, I look over and the owners phone was on the table in the ceremony ringing, she had to hurry up and grab it and try to get the sound too turn off. A couple more minutes later, staff was talking in the back, and she thought it was a good idea to open the door, which made it even louder to tell them to be quiet. Shaking my head. How unprofessional of someone who is the owner and the coordinator of the wedding. Do you think it ends here? Nope. A member of the bridal party asked her if that was her phone that went off, as she was in the front. The owner Linda then instructed the bridesmaid to "Meet me after." Also, unprofessional with no sorry. Just say you are sorry about that. But once again, I tried to force blame on someone other than herself. After being kicked for set up, which took an hour, we were able to come back and eat. The pasta we had was amazing. However, that was the brides choice, not owners. So if you need someone to cater your wedding, we know the best place that I know she won't recommend cause once again not owners idea. We have your back future brides and grooms. They had pizza that they recommended, it was cold and not good. Don't recommend that choice. After dinner and speeches, the band started to play, absolutely amazing music! Also, brides pick without recommendation (played Latina music). As people where dancing, they were taking the tables down that food was on and then decided to start moving other tables in place of them to open up the dance floor, moving people's wallets and purses and people had to search for some of their stuff and felt awkward that a stranger waa handling that stuff (in the future Linda, I would not touch someone else's purse or wallet, that could come back on you if something ever went missing). Close to closing time (which bride waa promised she could get her stuff the next day), we were kicked out exactly at 11, and was told to take all of our stuff, meanwhile the brides phone was missing, along with some glasses. We ended up finding the glasses under the bartender area, but the phone was not found. At this time, my fiance and I packed up our truck, so stuff was not just sitting outside. It was a complete mess, the owner was very unkind, and the other staff was very kind. Fast forward to the next day, the brides phone showed it was at venue still, so I reached out to the venue, and there was no response.
Please, to anyone trying to find a venue, keep this review in mind. I'm so for small business, especially with a woman owning it. But that amount of unprofessional and unkindness she showed makes me wonder why she even is still open, honestly.
*We did review on Google and she marked the truth as harassment. I want to note she was racist to all my Latina family and I am white. I want to make it quite clear, I am not political when it comes to race but this is the first time I witnessed it.
