Working with Andrew was truly one of the most meaningful and joy-filled parts of our wedding journey. When we first reached out, we had only a vague sense of what we hoped our first-dance experience could be (one of us grew up doing ballet, the other had never stepped foot in a dance studio)—but Andrew exceeded every expectation in the most wonderful ways. He created a process that felt equal parts fun, collaborative, and deeply personal, and the final piece he choreographed is something we feel completely at home in. Andrew didn’t just teach us steps. He connected with us, laughed with us, and made every session feel like a space where we could show up exactly as we are. Andrew Wojtal

Founder

Raised outside of Portland, Maine, Andrew attended the California Institute of the Arts, earning a BFA degree in Dance Performance and Choreography. In 2010 he was recognized by the Royal Family of Monaco with The Princess Grace Award, acknowledging his early contributions and excellence in the field of Dance. He has appeared commercially on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parenthood, and even performed with Taylor Swift! His Stage credits include Hamilton: An American Musical where he played Samuel Seabury/u.s. for King George III (including its limited engagement in San Juan, PR featuring Lin Manuel Miranda) as well as the Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof in 2016. Other dance credits include dance companies BODYTRAFFIC, Shen Wei Dance Arts, ARC Dance Project, and Island Moving Company. Andrew has been invited as guest dance faculty at Juilliard, Peridance, Gibney Dance Studios, New Mexico School for the Arts, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Loyola Marymount University, and AMDA. His choreography has been seen around the world at renowned venues including Pact Zollverein (Essen, Germany), Aksanat (Istanbul, Turkey) and Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles, CA). In 2015 Andrew partnered with the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the US Embassies in Istanbul, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Amman and facilitated a cultural exchange with different communities through movement workshops, demonstrations, artist talks, performances and classes.

me to listen to what we wanted, and crafted moves based on exactly what we were looking for. He made sure the dance fit with our vibe, and truly felt like us. Lessons were very approachable, and I had no prior dance experience going into it. Within 3 lessons we felt super comfortable to dance at our wedding, and all the anxiety I had about doing a dance melted away. It was an absolute hit with our guests. But more than that, Andrew was fantastic to work with and he made this such an amazing experience. We looked forward to every dance lesson because it was SO fun. This was my favorite part of the entire wedding planning process, and by the end I wish we had more lessons scheduled with Andrew, just because it was always such a blast. He's truly the best, so friendly, will be your #1 cheerleader, and an incredibly talented and experienced dancer. I can't stop watching our 1st dance videos and smiling :)

We were challenged but not overwhelmed and we truly had so much fun in our sessions with him and felt very prepared for the big day. The wedding planning process was stressful at times but we looked forward to our lessons with Andrew as a break from the stress and a time to enjoy ourselves. We hired Andrew to choreograph and teach a wedding Mother Son dance, as the groom had worked with him previously and we were so thrilled with his work. This time, the groom and mom...

were in separate locations for most of our lessons, and so Andrew worked with us remotely. We weren’t sure how this would go but Andrew did such an amazing job! He expertly taught us each our individual steps separately, in simple and digestible lessons. And then right before Mother and Son were in the same location, he began to add little twists that clarified how we would move together. Finally, when we came together for our final session, we had a beautiful finished product that came together relatively easily (even though neither mother or son are super comfortable with dance!). We really love how our dance turned out and are grateful to Andrew for the special moment he helped us to have together. We also appreciate his positivity and how fun he is to work with!

While dancing can sometimes feel stressful and scary for us, Andrew helped us to feel comfortable, and made the process positive and engaging. Our friends and family loved seeing our dance, and we are so happy that we have something meaningful from our wedding we can always return to just by turning our song back on and dancing together. e lessons are focused on ballroom which is also amazing but his focus is more modern/contemporary choreography and he tailored a little routine just for us and at our level - it was perfect. We did the Diamond package because I wanted to have the steps down perfect and I was nervous about learning a dance and not looking like an idiot. I shouldn’t have worried so much! Andrew is an amazing teacher and exceeded all my expectations about what this would be like. We got our awesome moment and had a blast with all the people we love. Highly highly recommend.
