I (Emma) have never considered myself a dancer, but when i got engaged to my lifelong dancer wife I knew that our first dance would be something that was really important we got right. We wanted a first “performance.” We found Visionary Productions through Exit Space, where my wife already took dance lessons. At our intro lesson, we brought a song and the general requests/overall feeling we wanted for the dance: More upbeat, something more technical for my wife to shine in her element on our day, but nothing so difficult I couldn’t pick it up as a beginner and execute confidently. We opted for 15 lessons to allow enough time for choreography and enough repetition for it to feel solid. Both Ernesto and Gabrielle are thorough, excellent instructors. They presented us with ideas that really brought the dance to life, and were also very receptive to feedback and working through the more challenging sections of our dance. As a beginner, i was given clear instruction allowed time to feel confident before adding something to challenge and raise my skill level. For my wife, they gave her moments to really show off what she is good at and give her (and I) “Wow” moments. By maybe lesson 6, I was really starting to get excited about our dance. It was something I think we were all really proud of. Despite it being well outside of my comfort zone, our instructors Ernesto and Gabby built my confidence from feeling anxious about my ability to rise to the occasion to feeling excited to show off what we had worked so very hard to deliver. They challenged me to trust myself and ultimately be the kind of dance partner my wife deserved. I truly am so thankful for what we were able to do and accomplish, because it has been such a great experience getting so enjoy something my wife loves and learn to love it together. We did not show our dance to anyone before the wedding other than our day of coordinators at our venue and our videographers. By the end of the dance, everyone was on their feet cheering. Everyone has told us that their favorite part of the wedding was our dance and we agree. I would like to add this additional review from my mother from her speech, an avid Dancing with the Stars fan: “You both absolutely get a 10!!!” I think both my wife and I agree we could not have had a more incredible wedding, and our favorite part of that was largely in part thanks to Ernesto and Gabriella. You can truly trust them to make your first dance feel like a dream come true.

apprehensive about the first dance. Ernesto made us both feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process. He created an environment where we could laugh at our selves when we felt silly during lessons, be serious when we needed to be, and always excited for our next lesson. He was very flexible with his schedule and ensured that we got the right amount of lessons in before our big day so that we felt 100% confident performing the day of the wedding. I am a little extra and shared that I wanted to push our dancing abilities by adding a lift and other moves that were a little more challenging and unique. ALL of our 100 guests the day of our wedding were so impressed with our dance! It was definitely a highlight of our planning experience, and the day of the wedding for my husband and I. If you are on the fence about whether or not you want to do a choreographed first dance I would recommend getting lessons with Ernesto! We had quite a few friends that got married this year, some of those couples did a choreographed first dance as well. They all had lovely dances and speaking to them about their experiences with their instructors, I realized just how lucky we were to have found Ernesto. He really took time to learn about us and what our goals were for the dance and created a beautiful dance that we will have forever. He even helped us select our first dance song when we were between two songs. I really had such a fun and lovely experience with him and can't speak highly enough about him as an instructor!
