Where to begin! My husband and I were married at Wachusett Mountain in October and it was AMAZING. Beautiful views, and a beautiful space (inside and out). We had our ceremony on the deck in front of the beautiful wooden archway, which was provided by the venue, and our ceremony pictures came out perfect. We also received so many compliments from our guests about the SkyRide (chairlift ride) during cocktail hour.
The on-site wedding coordinators Steffanie, Lynn, and the rest of their team were so so amazing. They made sure all of the boxes were checked and kept everything (everything!!) running smoothly. Super friendly, so attentive, and so helpful. We honestly couldn't have asked for more.
The food was also incredible!! We received SO many compliments from our guests on the meals we provided (plated; Statler chicken, Prime Rib, and Salmon), and Wachusett was so accommodating in providing a small number of vegan meals to a couple of our guests (which also received compliments!). The reception space in the Granite Room was a perfect size for our event (~68 people) but definitely had space to accommodate more. We also highly recommend using the Wachusett shuttle service to bring guests to and from the Double Tree Hilton in Leominster. Two trips fit all of our guests that needed to be shuttled (around 40), and was a quick trip down route 2 to the hotel.
Before our wedding, a lot of advice we were given revolved around things going wrong and rolling with the punches. However everything at Wachusett went so smoothly I can't believe it wasn't a dream! HIGHLY recommend Wachusett Mountain!!
Our wedding couldn’t have been better! Steffanie was amazing and helped us every step of the way. The grounds were beautiful and swept (yes, they swept the grass) before the ceremony. The food was delicious. The s’mores bar was unreal. Everything was perfect and it was the wedding of our dreams! I wish we could do it all again. A coworker suggested the venue to me, and I would suggest it to ANYONE who wants a seamless, perfect wedding!
Would choose Wachusett time and time again for our wedding. Though they did book out far in advance (we booked over 2 years ahead of time), the wait was soooooo worth it. Steffanie, our coordinator, knew exactly what she was doing, had thought of everything ahead of time, and otherwise let us plan the day around what we wanted. The food was amazing, my wedding caterer Dad was raving about the service, and the space was beautiful. The day after our wedding, my Instagram feed was FULL of Instagram photos of guests on the ski lift. They were so impressed and everyone LOVED it. We would recommend Wachusett time and time again for their affordability, service and just all around unique wedding vibe!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Wachusett Mountain in early August 2018. Their food was great and the price for it was so much less than other places we'd looked at. We loved having indoor and outdoor space so that weather wasn't a huge problem. Getting to ride the ski lift was a super cool plus! We got the firepit and smores bar add ons which were well worth it and everyone loved them! There was a ton of space to get ready and we had make up and hair come there which was great for coordination. There are some great locations for photos around the property. We enjoyed being able to bring in our own dessert since we didn't do a traditional wedding cake. They were super well coordinated and worked behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. We got suggested vendor lists from them as well as a ton of prep material. They even boxed up our dinner to take home cause we barely sat down to eat it! We loved that they had an event for signed on couples so we could go taste apps and dinner options, ride the lift, and meet some other vendors. The place is definitely a bit rustic, a bit basic in some areas since its a well used ski lodge, but once you put up some decor and have the mountain in the background, its beautiful!
Amazing experience, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an indoor/outdoor wedding day and doesn't want to break the bank!
My wife and I recently got married at Wachusett Mountain and I can not say enough good things about this venue! We picked this location because it is close to all our family and friends and the view was beautiful. Steffanie was fantastic to work with, she was easy to get a hold of and made sure we had everything we needed to make our day perfect. The food was delicious and the pricing was reasonable! Our guests still like to talk about how amazing the mash potato bar was! I love that they offer other little extras like shuttles, fire pit and how can you beat getting to ride the ski lift for cocktail hour! Those are our favorite pictures from that day! We got married outside pond side and had the reception inside the granite room, but I like that there was a few different outside options as well as indoor for both! We 100% would recommend this venue to anyone getting married!
My husband and I recently got married at Wachusett Mountain on August 25. We had an absolute blast and we had several compliments on how great the wedding was.
We chose Wachusett Mountain because it had the feel and price point we were looking for. We wanted a laid back, garden-party feel. We wanted elements like yard games, outdoor space, and the ability to customize the decorations. My husband and I also love BBQ and though the BBQ buffet option they offered would fit right in.
My husband and I are from Massachusetts so know Wachusett from winter ski days. However, we currently live in Virginia so had to do most of the planning from there. We stopped by in early spring and after a tour, went for it. There were still skiers on the hill but had faith it would turn out great. We were able to do everything over email with their coordinator, who was extremely helpful.
We opted for the ceremony on site since a family-member was officiating. We also opted for the tent, since we wanted an outdoor feel but still protection from the weather, in case it was raining. We happened to be in town for one of the two tastings offered each year and thought the BBQ was really good - one of the best options we tasted.
We opted to do a lot of DIY for both the wedding and ceremony. We knew the ceremony space would look nice next to the pond at Wachusett, but the arbor they had at the ceremony site looked more amazing than I thought it would, especially decorated with flowers.
My wedding party and I arrived at Wachusett at 10am for 2 hours of decorating. We were able to bring in all sorts of decorations including string lights, centerpieces, and yard games. The staff let us have free run of the ceremony and reception site and allowed us to borrow ladders and a couple supplies we forgot.
We went to the bridal suite at noon to get ready, and the guys went to hang out in their room down the hall. The Spruce room, where the bridal party got ready, was more than enough room for the bridal party of 4, 2 mothers, and a few family members. There was a huge table, mini-fridge with drinks, a bathroom, and lots of outlets. It was a great spot for "details" shots of the dress/veil as well as getting ready.
After the ceremony, my husband and I got to ride the chairlift to the top of the mountain for photos. It was so fun and special to be able to take the 10 minute ride right after our ceremony. We got lots of advice to "take a minute during the wedding to stop and take it all in" and we truly got to do that on our ride. It was fun to wave at all the other guests on the way down the chairlift and get a whole view of the mountain. Our photographers also went on the chair right behind us and I can't wait for those pictures!
The reception was amazing, the sides of the tent were opened because the weather was great, so we really got an ourdoorsy feel.
The shuttle service to and from Wachusett was great for guests not to worry about driving to and from the hotel. We ended up having the shuttle go to two different hotels, so there were fewer trips throughout the night.
However, we tried to save money by bringing in our own cake, which wasn't an option. Wachusett said they were not able to put anything in the fridge. We ended up paying for cupcakes.
Overall, I would highly recommend Wachusett for anyone who is looking for those same wedding elements. Also, I don't think you can beat the price for their wedding package, especially the buffet.
We had an amazing wedding at wachusett!! Excellent value, the food was incredible and I loved that we were able to ride the ski lift during cocktail hour with the gorgeous view. Stephanie was very helpful and everything went smoothly. I would recommend to anyone. We were very happy with this venue
I couldn't have asked for a better venue! The wedding was on 8/12/17 and we lucked out with a gorgeous day. Steffanie was incredible to work with...professional, easy to communicate with and made everything run smoothly and easy for me. The guests are still talking about how much they loved the venue, the views and riding the chairlift during the cocktail hour! We had the ceremony pondside and it was beautiful! Aside from the site of the wedding and reception being in the same place, the staff was wonderful to work with! Highly recommend this venue!
I wish I had good things to say about our wedding at Wachusett Mountain but my husband and I were very disappointed. Early on we knew we wanted to get married there, we used to hike the mountain often so thought it would be perfect for us nature lovers. In the beginning it seemed great, Missy was very helpful. We were told from the beginning that we could decorate the granite room the night before the wedding but with only 10 days before the wedding we were told we couldn't due to a business meeting and when we expressed our disappointment we were told "business is business". We were then told that the staff and wedding coordinators would be there to help the day of the wedding and no one was there to be found. My husband and the groomsmen all had to decorate on their own. I was told and in the signed contract it said our wedding coordinator would be there 3 hours prior to the wedding and a main coordinator would be there for the whole day, I kept asking to speak with someone and no one came to talk to me until 30 minutes before the ceremony and they were very rude.
It was very unorganized and they did not tell each table when they could eat (we had a buffet meal). Also three days before the wedding I was told they would fix the AC in the bridal suite and they never did so that whole day getting ready all of us girls were sweaty messes. I would usually never leave a review like this but any time we tried to express our concerns we were immediately shut down by the staff. As much as I love the mountain I would not recommend getting married there. Atleast not with the current staff ( my wedding date was 7/22/16). Hope this helps someone who is looking for the perfect place.
We had originally booked our wedding for the Wachusett Village Inn but when they closed and cancelled, Missy went above and beyond to help switch everything over to the mountain and convert and honor our contract to the best of her abilities. All of the planning with Missy was very easy, she replied to any questions I had via email or voicemail quickly, and overall it was clear that she is exceptional at her job.
The day of the wedding was stress-free and fun because the staff at the mountain were on top of everything before I even had a chance to start worrying. Lynn was helpful and accommodating to my bridesmaids and me; letting us know what we needed to do and when while ensuring that what we wanted could be fulfilled.
Our guests LOVED the sky ride and had a blast the entire night!
We were married this past Saturday (10/24) at Wachusett, and believe me when I say everything was perfect. We love Wachusett and ski and hike there several times a year, as well as attend their festivals, and it was important to us to have a venue that reflected who we were as a couple. Wachusett was absolutely perfect.
Missy is completely wonderful. She's the head coordinator and was also immensely helpful with any questions or concerns. I was somewhat upset when I found out that they had scheduled a food tasting the day of our wedding, and she assured me that everything would be over and done with way before we started pictures in the early afternoon. From the time I walked outside to start pictures (1:15) to the time we walked back to get into the limos (2:20), the entire venue had been arranged from a tasting to our wedding floor plan, with candy bar, centerpieces and chair covers completely ready to go. It was incredible.
Our guests had an amazing time. They loved riding the chair lift during the cocktail hour, even though it was quite cold. It was great that Wachusett lit the lights for us as well so our guests could really enjoy the scenery. The food was amazing, and everyone was raving about it. We opted to add on a s'mores bar, which was a ton of fun, and there were a lot of guests both on the dance floor and outside with the fire pits.
I have not stopped hearing amazingly positive things about our wedding. Everyone had an absolute blast, and Wachusett was a large part in us having such a successful wedding. I wholeheartedly recommend Wachusett for any couple who wants a fun wedding to be remembered forever.
This was a wonderful place to get married. It was a beautiful night. Missy was so helpful! I would get married here again if I could!
I am so glad my now husband and I picked Wachusett Mountain as our wedding venue. We fell in love with it from the first tour we took of the property - we didn't even go visit anywhere else. The staff was amazing, everyone there seems to really love what they do which is great to be around. The food was to die for and we are still getting compliments from our guests that attended. Our reception was under the tent which worked out perfectly because we were able to have a separate area outside with the fire pit for guests to hang out when they were not dancing. Everyone had a great time and it was truly the best day of our lives thanks to the wonderful staff at Wachusett.
Wachusett Mountain was the perfect venue for my husband and I! We loved the ski lift - and so did our guests! It was very fun and the photos from the top were beautiful! The food was phenomenal! We highly suggest the clam chowder, tomato mozzarella salad, and stuffed chicken. Missy and the rest of the staff were helpful and extremely professional. The s'mores and fire pit were a hit with our guests! It really was the perfect wedding venue. We highly suggest it!
They are outstanding! Very friendly and helpful. I have 3 girls and I would go back in a second. They are open to so much on what you would like to do. Check into them....I think you will be surprised.
It has been a little over a month since our wedding and my husband and I are still hearing about how amazing Wachusett Mountain was! From the beginning planning stages all the way until our wedding day, the staff at Wachusett Mountain was so helpful and friendly. Our wedding coordinator Sarah and Missy, who handles all of the planning before the wedding were both wonderful! We could not have asked for anything more. We never felt like a bother asking questions. The day of the wedding, everything was set up for us! They arranged for us to go up to the top of the mountain before the ceremony to take pictures. Everything was picture perfect and went off without a hitch. They found a place for our guests to stay warm before the outdoor ceremony began. The food was fantastic! People still talk about how delicious it all was! The wait staff was wonderful and so helpful with anything we asked! We would most definitely recommend Wachusett Mountain to anyone getting married!!!
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Wachusett Mt. this Fall (9/29/12). We chose them because they came across as very easygoing after our first meeting. The prices were affordable and they took care of many of the details. They also didn't nickle and dime us on things like cake cutting fees, which was a relief! They did have about three events going on our wedding day, which was a little bit of a challenge for our other vendors, it didn't seem to cause any real difficulties for us.
We also received a ton of complements on the food. We took advantage of few of the extra offerings -- shuttle service to local hotels, chair lift ride (it was cold and drizzly, but a few brave souls made the trip), and fire pit -- and I'm glad we did.
Additionally, the in/out style the Granite Room offered was key. Guests were able to enjoy the crowd inside on the dance floor, or take a break outside by the fire, on the patio, on the lawn... I know I appreciate that type of freedom as a guest!
Anyway, we were thrilled with the venue overall!
If a classy but comfortable reception is what you're looking for, this is the place! Missy, the coordinator was available and helpful. So many of our guests have since come up to us to say it was the most fun they had at a wedding... and even others who weren't invited told us they heard it was amazing!!
Wedding coordinators don't take much time to really think about each wedding. It is a wedding factory. We met the "day of" coordinator an hour before the ceremony and she did not mesh well with any of us. She was pushy, overly concerned with the schedule and guests (instead of the bride and groom). My advice, hire your own wedding coordinator to be your advocate on the day of. Value for food and location is very good, but service was seriously lacking.
I loved every minute of our wedding at Wachusett Mountain. It was fantastic! I think the ride up the ski lift was the most amazing part. We were so busy all day and having that quiet ride together up the mountain after the ceremony with the beautiful views was awesome. The non traditional site was perfect for us. The fire pit was so relaxing and fun we made smores! people were out enjoying the adorondak chairs all night.
Wachusett Mountain was a unique venue for our wedding. The facilities looked beautiful, plus the special touches like riding the ski lift during cocktail hour and having an outside fire pit (at additional cost) made it a memorable venue. It was a great location to showcase the beauty of fall in New England. All of the staff we worked with were fantastic - honest, available, and kind. They worked with us to make the menu exactly what we wanted, as well. The total cost of this venue includes catering, bar services, ceremony, and the fire pit.
The staff is wonderful. Dealing with all the planning is stressful, but Mount Wachusett made it so smooth and easy going. And VERY affordable. The setting is beautiful. I could not have asked for more... except maybe hurricane earl not showing up.
Missy, Brenda, Bonnie, Sara, anyone else from the staff... pick any of them; They were all FANTASTIC! The wedding was almost three weeks ago and our guests are still raving about it! The ceremony area was great, the cocktail hour was amazing, the reception room was perfect, and the food was unbelievable. Rates were fantastic and you could not beat the service or atmosphere!
Getting married at the mountain was perfect for us. My husband put it perfectly when he said the feel to our wedding was "classy casual," which is exactly the type of couple we are. We had a lovely outdoor ceremony by the pond, a total blast on the skyride, and amazing food and a fun time in the Granite Room for our reception. We were able to have an open bar with our own specifications. (beer, wine, and signature drink, priced by consumption, not by the hour. Ask about this! Day-of coordinators and greeters helped everything run smoothly without me having to worry about it. My sister did a lot of the decorating for me, and she did an amazing job. However, we lucked out and didn't have another wedding in our room on the same day, if we had, there would have been NO way this was possible. The previously wedding would have been out and cleaned up at 3:30, and my cermony started at 5:30. With pictures and such, the timing would not have happened! Anyway, we were lucky and had a great time. Everyone raved about the food and the skyride and many said it was the most fun wedding they've ever been to!
We had both our ceremony and reception at Wachusett. The staff did a fantastic job with everything...the food, the sky ride during the cocktail hour, the decorations for the Granite room...all the details were perfect. We highly recommend Wachusett to any couple looking to get married in a rustic outdoor locale.
Aside from the site of the wedding and reception being absolutely stunning (and in the same location), the staff was wonderful to work with!;You must love the indoor setup for a wedding ceremony as much as the outdoor options in case of inclimate weather!
Wachusett Mountain is a ski resort in the winter time. The venue has a lake AND a mountain view. We had the ceremony onsite lakeside and then guests were able to get a drink and ride the ski lift to the top of the mountain during cocktail hour to see the beautiful views. Also, Missy Banks, their on-site coordinator is PHENOMENAL. No pressure, no hassles, SO flexible. We were able to make changes to their standard package like adjusting the times with no problems whatsoever. Lastly, the food was the best we've had at any wedding. We've gotten MANY compliments ranging from 'I can't believe it was HOT!' To 'The flavors in the maple teriyaki salmon were just perfect.' We loved EVERYTHING about Wachusett Mountain!
