We LOVED having our wedding at Waimea Valley. We worked with Kealohi and she was great throughout the entire process.
Being born and raised in Hawaii, it was important to me to have our wedding at a place I called home. Not only is Waimea Valley breathtakingly beautiful, it serves as an important historical and cultural part of Hawaii. We decided to have our wedding at Waimea Valley in April 2023, and just had our wedding last week, March 2024. We had 2 options (in the valley) to choose from and decided to have our wedding on the main lawn and Pikake pavilion. We loved the main lawn since it had a large tree as its focal point. We loved all the plants and trees that surrounded the valley as well.
Kealohi made the planning process a breeze. She was very informative and answered our questions promptly. We were able to take a tour of the venue in September 2023, where she gave us a personal tour and shared historical and cultural information about the valley. During the day of the wedding, Kealohi was present and available when needed.
We would 10/10 recommend having an event or wedding here at Waimea Valley.
We loved our experience working with Ke'alohi at Waimea Valley. She was patient, transparent, helpful, and encouraging every step of the way. When we first reached out to Waimea Valley, we were able to set up a tour of the venue. The tour was an hour long drive through the valley that allowed us to see all the different venue spaces the valley had to offer. Though the valley had some restrictions to ensure the nature is protected, the venue was overall extremely flexible to work with. We're so thankful for Ke'alohi and all the staff we interacted with. Everyone was kind and supportive. We truly enjoyed every moment of our time at Waimea Valley from planning to the actual wedding day!
I can’t even put into words how WONDERFUL of an experience I had here. Ke’alohi was the BIGGEST help in planning my elopement. I called her almost everyday for 2 weeks asking questions and she was always happy to help answer them. Such great communication. I eloped where my parents did at Waimea Falls (waterfall) and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We got to take the golf cart up to the waterfall and when it started to rain, the patience of everyone as we figured out how to work around it was PHENOMENAL! It was something I’ll never forget. I am SO happy I chose Waimea Valley as my venue. Couldn’t have gone any better!!! 100000/10 highly recommend!

Any questions?
Waimea Valley was the PERFECT venue for me and my husband's destination wedding in Oahu!!! The minute we arrived to Waimea Valley, we were blown away by its beauty and KNEW that this was where we wanted our wedding.
Thankfully, everyone we worked with at Waimea were incredibly kind and easy to work with! We arranged to have a tour at the venue a year before our wedding date, and were able to book the venue on the date we wanted!
We were also able to book the Waimea Falls for our ceremony, which was GORGEOUS for a ceremony venue!!! Afterwards, we had our wedding reception at the Upper Meadow which was beautiful and spacious, and felt like you were in the middle of a lush jungle.
Something I love about Waimea Valley is that you must use the catering offered by Waimea Valley (Ke Nui Kitchen Catering), and thankfully Ke Nui Kitchen's food is EXCELLENT!! They created the exact wedding menu we wanted, which included Hawaiian/Japanese/Asian fusion foods like pork bao buns, spam musubi, poke nachos, lechon porchetta, ahi tuna steak, and sooo much more!!
What was even more incredible was that Ke Nui Kitchen was very accommodating to me and my husband's request to have a wedding STEAK instead of a cake (you heard right... we wanted to have STEAK, not a cake, for our wedding lol). And Ke Nui Kitchen delivered!!
They gave us 2 glorious, juicy, perfectly tender Tomahawk steaks as our "wedding cake" and it was DEEELICIOUS!!!! My guests loved the wedding food, and just thinking about all the food right now makes me salivate.
Thank you so much Waimea Valley for an AMAZING wedding experience and for being so accommodating to me and Michael's wedding vision!!! :) :)

Aloha George & Ashley,
Thank you so much for the review! It was a pleasure working with you both and we wish you the very best!
Other then being the most amazing beautiful place that Waimea is, the staff Kim and Kealohi were so helpful and knowledgeable having even the smallest detail thought of and covered. We had air conditioned buses shuttle us and all our guests up to the upper meadow for our ceremony. Power for the dj so we could have mics. A golf cart to shuttle us around after the ceremony to all the amazing photo spots! It is a big bonus that the catering kitchen is on site coming out hot!! And to top it off the pavilion transforms into a night club with led lighting and tiki torches to dance the night away!!!

Aloha Caroline,
Mahalo nui for leaving a review! We want to thank you again for choosing Waimea Valley as your backdrop for such a special day! It was an honor to work with you and see your wedding come together.
We selected Waimea Valley as our wedding venue and it was truly amazing. From the moment we were inquiring to the day of the wedding they were informative, helpful, and communicative. It really helped our day turn out as amazing as it did.

I am the mother of the bride and helped plan Jen’s wedding. Waimea Valley was nothing short of amazing. We planned the wedding before Covid hit . The original date was postponed 1 year. They were very accommodating and continued to update us with current rules/regulations in Hawaii . The staff was very professional and punctual. Looking back we wouldn’t have changed anything … everything was perfect! Thank you Waimea Valley for a perfect wedding!!!

Aloha Sheila,
Jen and Joe's wedding was very much anticipated and we couldn't be happier for them! Thank you for your kind words. We're pleased to hear that their special day turned out perfectly.
My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding party and immediate family members. Afterwards, we had all of our guests join us for welcome drinks and light bites. We also took some pre-wedding photos with a photographer on the property because the scenery was too beautiful to not capture it! We were able to organize a golf cart to drive us around so we could reach different parts of the garden with the limited time we had. The Waimea Valley team helped manage all of these details seamlessly! We used the Proud Peacock but any one of their venues would be a beautiful choice. The ease of navigation and parking was a bonus too. I can't thank the Waimea Valley team enough for all their help!

Waimea Valley was absolutely incredible and so beautiful for our wedding on June 12th. Kimberly from Waimea valley and Nicole from KNK were just amazing to work with. They both were so attentive, informative and caring. Our original plans were postponed due to covid, but they were so gracious in our postponement and worked with us diligently to make our special day go so smoothly. We chose the main lawn for our ceremony and the pikake pavilion for the reception. As Ke Nui Kitchen and Waimea Valley work hand in hand for venue and catering, it was like the one stop shop for the whole wedding. The catering from Ke Nui Kitchen was so ono! The food is incredible! The staff at Waimea valley were so friendly and we could not have imagined our wedding being as magical as it was. Mahalo mahalo mahalo to Waimea Valley and Ke Nui Kitchen for making our wedding a memory that will last a lifetime. We would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking to have their wedding here. Thank you again!! -Greg & Irene Tuttle

Aloha Greg and Irene. Mahalo nui for the kind words. It was so great to see both walk down the aisle after all the delays. We are very happy for you both. Sending lots of aloha your way.
Our wedding was incredible at Waimea Valley. Ke Nui Kitchen catered the event as they partner with the venue and our guests loved the food. We got to choose the cake as well which was amazing. The event coordinator helped us with logistics since we didn’t have a wedding planner involved. Planning the wedding ourselves was totally doable here and we had an amazing time.

Aloha Dana,
Mahalo nui loa for the review! We appreciate your time and attention. Congratulations to you and Pat! Safe travels back home!
Waimea Valley is an incredibly special place to get married. From the moment you enter the valley, you feel the “mana,” or power, of the place. Even though the valley is located on the busy North Shore of Oahu, it is tucked away nestled between the mountains, and when you are there you feel a sense of serenity and peace. Everywhere you look you see lush, tropical gardens and greenery, which makes for a stunning backdrop for photos. We had our ceremony and reception at the Upper Meadow, which is about a 5-minute shuttle ride from the visitor center. Since it’s located deeper in the valley, this spot felt very private and intimate, even though the lawn is quite large with a lot of room to spread out. Our entire event took place outside, and except for the dinner under an open-air tent, we spent the whole night under the stars. With everything outdoors and the large amount of space to work with, this is an excellent place to have a “socially distant” wedding. We planned for and expected to have some rain during our event, but the weather ended up being perfect – a dry and cool afternoon and evening with temperature in the mid-70’s. The venue’s exclusive caterer, Ke Nui Kitchen, is also located in the valley and provided the most delicious, farm-to-table fresh food for our wedding, and the craft cocktails we selected from Ke Nui Kitchen’s bar menu were a huge hit with our guests. Most importantly, all of the staff at Waimea Valley Events and Ke Nui Kitchen were incredible to work with. Kimberly, the Events Manager, was so accommodating, helpful, and understanding as we planned our wedding at Waimea, even when the constantly changing Covid-related restrictions and orders made planning especially complicated. In the end, we couldn’t have been happier with our wedding venue, and every single one of our guests shared with us how beautiful our venue was.

Ho'o Maika'i (congratulations)!
This venue was just so so beautiful, during my wedding I kind of wished I was just a visitor exploring the area because it was that breath taking. Kim and Kealohi were so helpful as well, and very informative to all my questions. Thank you for making this day so special.

Mahalo nui Jade and Liam for the review.
Happy to read that you enjoyed your wedding ceremony at Waimea Valley. Please come visit us soon and explore this extraordinary conservation site on the island of Oahu.
Aloha
Working with Waimea Valley was easy and seamless! They were attentive and responded to all inquiries in a timely manner. The rental fee was affordable and included chairs and tables. They do require that you cater your food through Ke Nui Kitchen, which was actually fine because they are great and it removes the hassle from working with a caterer who doesn’t know the area and staff. Other than that, the valley is so gorgeous and provided the perfect backdrop, and the staff was amazing to work with.

Mahalo nui for your comments. It was our pleasure hosting such a fashionable couple at Waimea Valley. We are very excited to see the images!
Aloha
As soon as my wife and I entered the valley, we instantly knew it was where we wanted to get married. Not only is it gorgeous and full of lush plants, flowers, and gardens, but it's rich in Hawaiian history, which is something we wanted to share with our family & friends.
Kimberly with the Waimea Valley staff was fantastic from the beginning. It was easy to communicate with her about meetings, deadlines, options, and she knew a lot about the history of the valley, which only made us fall in love more. It was a seamless process from when we first met her until the day of our wedding.
We would highly recommend Waimea Valley for its beauty, affordability, and variety. We chose the Main Lawn and Pikake Pavilion for our ceremony and reception and it was just perfect. The staff was super easy to work with and we have no regrets!

Your wedding was a sight to be seen. We cannot wait to see the photos.
Mahalo nui for choosing this sacred ahupua'a as the place to exchange your vows. We wish you both lots of aloha.
We did not have our wedding at Waimea Valley but we treated our wedding guests to an eco-tourism experience. Everyone who comes to Hawaii hits up the beach and hikes the beautiful mountains but not everyone is able to plant native trees or weed invasive species. We got in touch with Waimea’s volunteer coordinator, Melani, and she organized a hike for us and our guests up one of Waimea’s ridges to do some volunteer work. It was hard work under the hot sun but we planted more than 20 trees and shrubs. Our guests played a role in contributing to Hawaii’s ‘aina (land) and as a result, they were treated to free access to Waimea valley for the day to swim at the waterfall and we catered a small meal and happy hour for them to celebrate our success. I think we got some really good karma from our volunteer work because the weather on our wedding was beautiful and we were able to get some amazing shots on the ridge and with our friends. Like those trees we planted we hoped the roots of our relationship with our friends and families attending our wedding would continue to grow and flourish over time. Thank you Waimea Valley botanical team and Melani for the amazing experience.
Cannot find a more affordable and beautiful place than Waimea Valley. We're super glad we chose this secluded spot as our wedding venue!

Aloha Soksamphoas and Jonathan,
Mahalo nui for your review and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed having Waimea Valley as your backdrop to your event. We wish you both lots of aloha.
We had our ceremony on the main lawn and the reception at the pavilion and everything was all setup perfectly! We loved the long wood table that had such great visual appeal at our buffet line. Pricing was definitely very reasonable compared to other venues and we will always remember this beautiful place!
The venue itself was a 10/5 - absolutely breathtaking! We could not have asked for a more perfect place. The entirety of Waimea Valley holds the beauty and the history, which makes it truly Hawaiian.
On that note, it is probably due to the rare earthly beauty this place holds that it makes it so popular for events, and makes the organization team and catering company less than accommodating. They know that there are always more events and you are just another dollar sign to them - and they have no problem making you feel that way. We weren't appreciated guests, we were made to feel like they were doing us a favour by hosting us.
On the morning of our wedding as I was getting ready, I received an email from the caterers (that we had to use due to their contract with Waimea) stating that they had made a mistake on our invoice and we now owed them an extra $800, and if I could please pay it to them now.
On the day of our wedding, our service staff from Ke Nui Kitchen was incredible, as was their food - we cannot compliment the day of staff enough! Thank you for making our day amazing!
However, their office crew (same people who emailed me), their organization and communication prior to the event was subpar. We were planning from New Zealand so we had been hoping for a bit of extra help and communication but we learned about "island time" very quickly and like I said, felt as though they were doing us a favour by responding to questions.
The events coordinator at Waimea Valley, was a lovely person but highly ineffective as a coordinator. Our wedding was late by 45 minutes because the groom and groomsmen parked in the wrong carpark and were waiting for the bride and bridesmaids to turn up, although we were there waiting in the correct carpark. She knew the men were in the wrong carpark and knew the bride was waiting, and said and did nothing. Literally just wandered around like she was high. She was new at her job and I would be surprised if she lasted another wedding season.
All in all, our day was spectacular, but the lead up was far more stressful than it needed to be due to lack of urgency or communication by the organization teams. I think 4 stars is pretty generous, and they are lucky that the venue is beautiful and their service staff is so incredible to keep people coming back or recommending them on.
Beautiful venue the staff was very helpful! Made planning easy with a destination wedding!
Waimea Valley was the perfect place to get married. We got a free tour from the event coordinator when we were looking for venues and its lush beauty make it perfect for a wedding. We didn't decorate for the ceremony at all because we were already surrounded by the topical flowers of this nature preserve. We took pictures by the waterfall, in the valley and out on the beach. Our ceremony started as the park was closing (at 5pm) so we had the whole valley to ourselves. We had to depart by 11pm, but most people were ready to go around 9:30 or 10 because of the time change from the mainland. The price was comparable to other venues on the North Shore. The event coordinator was very nice, but don't be surprised if it takes a while to get your contract as weddings are just one type of event the valley holds.
