Walden Floral in Downers Grove is who I would not recommend to even my worst enemy. I reached out to them back in June and made the first appointment. In that first email, she seemed really nice, even mentioned how they did a blackhawks wedding... and could show me pictures, etc. Also, during that first contact I told her when our wedding was and how I would like to get info for our wedding flowers as well as it would be nice to do it all at once. In July, we show up for our appointment, no one was there. We waited around an extra 15-20 minutes just incase..nothing. We get an email back the next day apologizing and said we could reschedule. I told her next Tuesdays we were available and they chose the later one in August. We go, and the girl just did not seemed thrilled that we were there. She told us to look through binders and she was in the back and then came up. We already decided what centerpieces we wanted based on pics on their facebook. As for wedding flowers, I know nothing and was hoping for guidance. When I said I didnt know what a certain flower was, she googled it. I didnt know what looked good together etc. She was asking other questions about bridesmaid bouquets and I was hoping to get advice as to what is a good idea, etc and some guidance. Nothing. We reminded her about the blackhawks theme, nothing. When she came back with our quote for the flowers, we were blindsided. $1097 (without tax). She said that its average for the area and we could come back and she would suggest changes. We left in shock. So I reached out to that FB wedding group, and one girl quoted me half, and so did other people saying they paid that price but got a lot more. Mind you, our colors are red and white (natural flower colors), nothing fancy...gerber daisies, a few roses, simple flowers, etc... So I emailed Denise the owner the next day following our appointment and told her how upset I was over the appointment, hoping for more guidance and what the girl had said, etc. No response from the owner. A week goes by, no response.I call the store and apparently she's in a meeting. 2 hours later, I get an email from her saying our centerpieces wont be a problem, and then that our wedding date is booked so they cant do the other flowers. No explanation about the appointment, estimate etc. That didnt make any sense. After we sent our deposit in to Celidan, I wrote her back Thursday and told her not to even bother with out centerpieces as I dont want one dime we are paying the Hilton to go to them.
